Grand Hotel Palazzo Carpegna is a 4 star hotel located a few minutes from the Vatican City-St. Peter's Basilica and Rome city center. The hotel is noused in a wonderful historical building, within the fascinating setting of Villa Carpegna Park, surrounded by luxuriant gardens. Recently completely renovated the hotel offers 200 comfortable carefully furnished rooms including Classic, Superior and Junior Suite . All rooms are equipped with private bathroom, satellite color TV; air conditioning, direct dial telephone and minibar. High speed internet connection. Wirelees in all hotel and wired only in rooms and meeting rooms, Pay tv in rooms, and 2 Internet Point in the Library. Some rooms are especially equipped for disabled and wheelchair access. The restaurant Le Bistrot is opened until the 31st of May. It proposes an excellent Italian cuisine and an interesting selection of fine wines. The bar Il Chiostro is opened daily and offers a selection of snacks, sandwiches and salads, accompanied by a wide range of cocktails, aperitifs and soft drinks. From the 1st of June to the 15th of September a small menu with typical Italian cuisine will be available at the bar from 19:00 to 22:30 The extensive conference and banqueting facilities, the large public areas, the beautiful Cloister and the imposing Three-aisle Church completes the romantic atmosphere of this hotel that is definitely out of the ordinary.

The hotel is about 10 Euros (by Taxi) from the Vatican. Offers to set up tours for you, pick up and drop off at hotel. Its 45 Euros from the airport. Room was very nice and clean. TV was small but it had some English speaking channels. Had towel warmer in bath.

It was located near the metro stop which made the commute easy and worry-free. The room's decor is simple and bathroom's shower is extremely small and tight. Breakfast has exact same items every day, but it is OK to fill yourself up before you start the day. Good restaurant nearby made dining out a pleasure. Will stay here again if come back to Rome.

Hi! If you use this hotel, just be ready for its not in the middle of Rome. I would suggest a lower quality hotel for the same money in the CENTER of Rome. The Hotel is very clean and the rooms are nice, just not close.

The staff at Grand Hotel Palazzo Carpegna was rude to us from the moment we checked-in to check-out. Not only were they rude to us but also to other guests. We asked for reservations in their restaurant and they told us they were full but did not offer any other suggestion. The bellhop was too busy chatting with his friends to help us or any other guests to their rooms including a family who had a lot of luggage and small children. The rooms were tiny, smaller than any of the other hotels we stayed in while in Italy. Also the rooms seemed dingy and cheap. There were scuff marks on the ceiling and dirty handprints on the wall.

The room is extremely small. And,the amenities (detergent, towel, hair dryer, etc) supplied are extremely primitive.
