The hotel is situated in the historic centre of Venice, quite near the famous Rialto Bridge and a few minutes walk from San Marco Square. The closest boat stop, 50 metres away, is Rialto, served by line 82. The area surrounding the hotel is very lively and offers a huge variety of restaurants, bars and shops of any kind. The hotel is actually hidden between a maze of small streets that preserves it from the noise and the crowds; therefore it is a quiet and peaceful ambiance but in the heart of the city. This is an historic hotel just next door to the famous Graspo de Ua restaurant. CQ 09/08. Traditional Venetian structure in keeping with the surroundings. There is no lobby but only a small reception area furnished in typical Venetian style as are all the common spaces of the hotel. There is no restaurant at the hotel. The breakfast room is small in size but nicely decorated in Venetian style with paintings of Venice all along the walls. After breakfast, this will become the bar area. These charming junior suites are furnished in a luxurious 18th century Venetian style, proposing precious damask on the walls, elegant silk fabrics on the bed and for the curtains. As you access the room a cosy hall, is style with the rest of the ambiance, welcomes you and it gives access to the main bedroom. Some of the suites have an internal view terrace and some offer a typical view of the Venetian roofs. They are equipped with all modern comforts, such as mini-bar, air conditioning and hair dryer. The bathrooms are stylish and well designed. 1 km to the nearest station (rialto), 13 kms to the nearest airport (marco polo).

We stayed at Graspo de Ua for three nights in July 2008. The rooms are small and the hotel is very small. There is no view from the windows. The breakfast room feels like an underground bunker. All of that is tolerable, but what makes us recommend that you avoid this hotel is the staff. The staff is quite unhelpful in general. The worst thing is that Gianni, the manager, is rude, arrogant, and ill-mannered; and you should watch out for your money when you make deals with him. For example, we asked him to book a taxi to the airport and he quoted us a "minimum" price that turned out to be 40% higher than what we got when we went to the Canal Grande and booked the taxi ourselves! He then tried to refuse to cancel the taxi reservation that he had made at a 40% higher cost! Similarly, he booked a tour of Venice for us at a cost higher than what we would have found ourselves at the office in Piazza San Marco. And he did not accept credit cards, only cash! Clearly, he is connected with a newtork of people in Venice who rely on him to get money from tourists. So, if you are concerned about not being ripped off, do not stay at Graspo de Ua!

Good value for the money. Great location right by the Rialto bridge. Friendly service. Rooms are quiet and they have air conditioning - an absolute must if you're planning to be in Europe during the summer months. Bathroom is clean and big. Beds are comfortable.

The hotel was ideally situated, just a few steps from the Rialto Bridge. Hotel staff were very helpfuly and friendly. The only down side was that the standard double rooms were extremely small.
