These converted and restored early Victorian homes are on the Historic Walk in old St. George near the Civic Center. Guestrooms blend the charm of Vi ictorian decor with such conveniences as refrigerators, microwaves, and coffeemakers. Amenities include a Victorian parlor, reception and meeting g rooms, business center, and general store with lunch counter. The nine restored Victorian homes that make up the hotel are clustered around the swimming pool, gardens, and a village green. My stay at Green Gate was at the beginning and end (May 18 and 29) of a solo driving trip to Greeley, Co. I had stayed at Green Gate on a similar trip some 12 years earlier and found the accommodations to be equally charming and cozy on both travel occasions. Because I travel alone I am cautious about where I stay and felt completely secure at Green Gate. The rooms and grounds are well appointed . I enjoyed the opportunity to enjoy the clear air and beautiful grounds across the street at the Tabernacle. The pool is modest but surrounded with comfortable chairs and opportunities to meet fellow travelers. Breakfast and the ambience in the dining area provided a wonderful opportunity to get back on the road with a feeling of having been welcomed into the home of a friend. The Green Gate is a spot to which I will enjoy returning in the future
