General Description

We are a small and friendly bed and breakfast our house has undergone a total transformation and since being awarded four stars with a silver award we have continued to offer accommodation and service that you have come to expect. All our rooms are en-suite and we provide the things we think you need: towels, shaving point, hairdryer, trouser press, TV, books, maps, free wifi and tea and coffee making facilities. Our Deliciously Yorkshire Breakfast will set you up for the day whether you prefer a full cooked English breakfast, continental, vegetarian, vegan, diary and gluten free or any other special dietary requirements. In May 2008 we were recognised for our locally sourced produce by the Deliciously Yorkshire Regional Food Group. We believe that recycling is an important part of our lives here at Gregorys and we are working towards further greener intiatives. Our free onstreet parking means that you don't have to take your car into the City. Cliffords Tower and the City center are a ten to a fifteen minute walk. But if you want to take things a little easier you can stroll into the City either though Rowntrees Park or by the Riverside Walk. If you prefer to visit York for the Races we are only a five minute walk to the Race Course either for the races or for the various events and exhibitions. For those guests arriving in the evening our last check in time is 9.pm.for more information visit us at gregorysofyork.co.uk There is a minimum of a two night stay at the weekends three night stay at the Bank Holidays Christmas and the New Year period. For some Race meetings there is a minimum stay of a two night and for others three nights. One night bookings are taken at Managements direction if you would like more information about any of the following please let us know. When making a booking with us whatever time is given to the operator by email or via text if your time changes please let us know so that we are available to meet you upon your arrival.

Room was lovely, martin and bev were both very friendly and very helpful. Would definately recommend this hotel to stay as good value for money.

A lovely stayWe would highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting York. We were made to feel very welcome and customer service was second to none. Ideal location for us, just a fifteen minute walk into the centre.

A very welcoming, helpful couple run this guest house; the room was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed, although being in the attic it was quite compact. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and nicely presented as well as being perfectly cooked. I would be happy to stay here again.

The bed was very comfortable and the location of the guesthouse was good. We were able to walk to the train station and old town area within 30 minutes. We only got to eat 1 out of 4 breakfasts due to the very short available time in which breakfast was served (8:30 - 9:00.) The bus and train schedule for daytrips were earlier than breakfast time. Perhaps, the guest house could offer a longer breakfast availability OR make a continental breakfast selection available for customers to enjoy in the morning before catching public transportation. The shortbread offered when we got there was wonderful. Management Response Mr Schell mentioned that it takes 30 minutes to walk to the station and the 'old town.' He is right that it takes 30 minutes to walk to the Station. But it appears that Mr Schell walked this way to get into the City which he calls the 'old town'. To get into the City the best way to walk is along the river side walk which takes about 15 minutes. When Guests check in we show them a map of the City and the best way to walk into the City and the river side walk is truly lovely! Mr Schell goes onto say that he only had one breakfast with us and no packed lunch to take away with him when he had an early start. He came down into the dining room on his first morning and had a breakfast. He informed us that he would not be down for breakfast as he had an early start the next day. We informed Mr Schell that we could provide him with a packed lunch to take with him. On the other two days he did not mention he wanted a packed lunch or that he had an early starts. In the room information booklet we have clearly informed Guests that if they require a packed lunch to take away with them due to very early starts we are more than happy to provide one. If we had known Mr Schell had wanted a packed lunch for his very early starts we would have of course provided him with one which we do for other Guests. Fantastic break away!!!This guest house was fantastic the owners were very polite and couldn't do enough to make sure our stay was perfect in every way. Very friendly people, the room was lovely and the breakfast was spot on couldn't of asked for more. A***** service!!!
