Great views of the Harbor and quiet surroundings. Staff was not too pleasant and things seemed worn, towels, linens, etc. The overall feeling of the hotel was quiet which we enjoyed. The rooms were good sized and comfortable. The staff was not overly friendly. Our towels and linens were well worn and the towel rack in the bathroom was coming off of the wall.

The rooms were clean and staff was friendly Did not like the mix up that the Harbor House had no reservations for our family. The hotel was in the process of updating their furniture and painting the place. Other then having WET PAINT signs everywhere it was nice. The continental breakfast was your basice freebie. All in all "yes" we would stay there again. Oh yes and the walls are thin.

The views were absolutely wonderful! Nothing This was the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The views were breath taking. I enjoyed getting to watch some of the big cruiseliners leaving port, and watching the dolphins that followed them. This was a wonderful hotel, and I would recomend it to anyone who wanted a romantic getaway.

Convenience to cruise terminal. This hotel is the most convenient location to the cruise terminal, and has good restaurants within walking distance. The staff was friendly and competent, always helping me out when I requested it.

Hotel felt very family friendly. Parking was $10 a night. We were traveling with a 2 and a 3 year old and this hotel was just perfect for us. The kids loved being able to look out the window in the morning and see the ships. The breakfast was simple but good. One thing that we really appreciated was the bowl of fruit sitting out in the lobby so the kids could just grab an apple when they wanted one. We really enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying there next time we get to go to Galveston.

large, comfortable room no vending machines We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We had a large room with a nice view. The only complaint is that there were no vending machines on site.

Clerk at front desk represented the hotel well. Room was good but could have been better. It was obvious the room had been redecorated. However, the desk, night stand, end tables, and coffee table were not updated during the redecoration. Such a shame to skimp on minor pieces/expenses.

I liked the location. Furniture in bad shape. Electrical outlet at vanity didn't work. Bathroom light worked intermittently. Roach on floor in vanity area. Our stay was AWFUL!!!!!!! It certainly was not a two and a half star hotel. The location was great but everything else was disappointing! I had to dry my hair without a mirror because the outlet in the vanity area wouldn't work. I had to use the restroom in the dark because the light wouldn't come on. The caulking around the tub was coming loose. There was a hole in the lampshade. There was a BIG stain on the white bedspread. There were two pillows for each bed and they were small; there wasn't even a sham to hide the fact that the pillows were out of proportion in size to the full size beds.

This hotel is very nice, a small qiet location on the water close to several restaurants. It was within walking distance to the pier for our cruise.

Secure-one block from the Strand. Excellent food at Willie G's next door. (don't recommend Joe's Crab Shack).

This hotel is in a perfect location for cruising. We walked around town, had dinner. The room was nice, quiet and clean. Ask about their parking special for cruising. A lot cheaper and closer than port parking. Would stay here again.

Repair of broken fan in my room by hotel staff within minutes of being informed. No pool onsite as was led to believe, $10. Parking, no in-house bar. Overall the room was nice, staff great. The phone in my room had a price of .75 per local call. When I was checking out they tried to charge me 7.00.It was removed.

Spacious room. Harbor view. Phone did not work. Wireless connection not available. Weekly con artist approaching hotel guest weekly (very convincing con man). The breakfast was very nice (not your usual cheap crabs). Popular seafood restraints adjacent to Hotel. Deep Sea fishing available within walking distance.

Harbor House has palatial rooms, great location, and lots of character. At my travel time, the hotel was under a remodel or reconstruction. Harbor House is a charming find! Located on the edge of the historic downtown Strand district, you are removed from the bustle of the beach-going tourists, but are only moments away from the beach yourself. This may be Galveston's best kept secret!

Very clean rooms, friendly front desk with a good view of the bay. Still undergoing renovations after like, elevator is still out of service. Our family was very impressed with the hotel. The rooms were clean and well done. We had a very nice view of the bay. The hotel is walking distance to the Strand as well as a few other restaurants. The restoration post Ike continues, with the major inconvenience of the elevator being out of service. We will stay again on our next trip.
