This is a great hotel and the amenities are wonderful. The rooms are clean and updated with everything we need (ie: coffee, fridge, microwave, nice flat screen T.V., etc.) Each time we stay we use pool and hot tub. The pool is heated which is nice. It also has a great gym. We reccomend asking for a room away form the hallway exit doors, we heard the door slam throughout the night which kept waking us up. Otherwise, it's always a wonderful visit and it's the only place we stay in Monterey~

Love the remodel, clean, elegant, beds are comfy! The noise was atrocious! I could hear the TV from two doors down, and the person above me all night long! With the new remodel, this hotel is wonderfully equipped, and furnished with clean lines, nice carpeting, and furniture and fresh paint. Great location, still close to everything! Now for the bad part. The noise was unbearable! The walls are paper thin. They should have put in some soundproofing! I could hear the person above me all night long, as well as the television 2 doors down. Even though I was extremely happy with the room quality, I will not stay here again unless I am given the top floor, and away from the stairs and elevators! This was my first time staying in a hotel that was so noisy, I thought about checking out to get some sleep!

Very nice renovation. Has a classy feel. Its access has too many steps, makes it confusing on how to carry your luggage and avoid the steps. Very nice hotel. Great toiletries. Great mattress. Restaurant service was excellent; limited menu, but good. The hotel has two sets of stairs to its entrance. At check in, it makes no mention of parking in its underground garage, which is not visible to the eye from the front door. We didn't realize we could take the luggage trolley down to a garage, until we were checking out. This necessitated us schlepping our entire luggage up several stairs and making several steps. If the front desk would inform guests, it would make it an almost-perfect stay.

The workout room and kids enjoyed the pool. This is not a family friendly hotel I would not stay here again. If you are traveling alone and don't mind being moved to 4 different rooms in an hour an a half and don't have children this hotel is probably fine. But do not stay here is you have kids traveling with you. We were moved 4 times to get into a king room with a functioning door lock. With our kids 2 and 3 just getting out of the car for over 7 hours they needed to get into a room and settle in. Instead we got a room with two queen beds that left no room for the cribs we brought so we requested a king room. We were moved to the king room but the lock on the door was broken, they gave us a third room another queen, yes another long walk back to the front office to remind them we needed a king. So our forth and final room was a king but we weren't in it 5 minutes before the front desk said there had been a noise complaint. My kids were not yelling, or crying they were just talking out of the deck. We later realized that our deck (on the third floor) was the ceiling for the room directly below us and when you walk on it sounds hollow. So my kids 18 and 25 pounds probably sounded like a heard of elephants just walking around outside. Anytime we went out there we got a noise complaint so the kids were coupled up in a tiny room. Huge design flaw by the Hilton! We will never stay here again and will not recommend it to anyone.

The hotel staff was very accommodating and quality of the rooms was great. The rooms could use better sound proofing. We could hear people walking buy in hall and people dragging luggage thru concrete corridor next to room. Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel. Staff was happy to give us a different room when we didn't like the location of the first room. Unfortunately, the second room was right next to a concrete floored hallway that led to stairs and we could hear people dragging their suitcases down the hall which did not provide for as restful a nights sleep as I would have liked. Despite this flaw, the rooms and beds were very nice. The shower had plenty of hot water and the soaps, shampoos, etc were of excellent quality. I also appreciated the free high speed wireless internet.

The grounds were nice & it was quiet. The rooms were nice, bed was very comfortable. The area was quiet & felt like we were staying in a Garden. Yet it was still within in a 5 mile drive of many good restaurants & 10 minutes to Cannery Row.

Great beds, great gym, good location, liked the free coffee. Parking garage could use some directional signs to room numbers. Good location, very comfy beds, nice rooms with fridge. Great gym with new equipment, nice pool area (cabanas, fire pit, lounging area). Would definitely recommend.

Enjoyed our stay. Quiet and easy to get to. Close to the Wharf and Cannery Row. Fitness room looked great. We didn't use it this time, but seemed to have everything for a nice work-out. Even the balance balls. The bedding was very comfortable. Nice comforters (much needed in Monterey!)with white duvets. You know they've got to be changed each time! I always bring my own pillow, since hotel pillows are usually horrible. No need with this hotel. They were wonderful as was the bed. All in all, it was a great stay. We'd stay there again.

The location was excellent for walking to the beach or driving to the exhibits. It was also close to Cannery Row. Not a thing. We were in Monterey to see our son in Dli. He is in the Navy and currently stationed there. We were able to stay close to the base and whatever we wished to do was close by. The staff was very professional and helpful. We were very surprised with the ambience of this particular hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Room was very clean andbed was extremely comfortable. Nothing; excellent hotel and convenient location. Excellent hotel for families with young children (infant and toddlers). Accommodations were clean and bed was very comfortable. We were able to get a room with 2 queen beds, which helps when we have 2 young children.

Clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable beds. Our room location. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Parking right below our room was handy. The only slight annoyance was our room location. We had two rooms, one on each side of the elevator. The elevator corridor had tile so we could hear the suitcases rolling on the tile and the doors opening and closing at the hallway entrance. My brother and sister-in-law had a room on the outside and were able to hear some delivery truck noise. Certainly didn't "ruin" the experience, but created a slight nuisance. But I realize that somebody has to stay in these rooms that the hotel designed. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

The staff responded immediately to every request. The beds needed fitted sheets. As reflected above, our trip to the Monterey Hilton garden inn was very pleasing. The facilities were more than satisfactory; the staff very friendly and helpful; the housekeeping and maintenance personnel prompt and efficient; the convenience of access from the parking garage to the rooms appreciated and the food in the restaurants well above average. We are very experienced and sometimes demanding clientele and we found very little, for a three star hotel, we didn't like. We would recommend this facility to anyone.

What a great value! The furnishings were very pleasing and the pillowtop bed made for a very nice night's sleep.The hotel manager and the staff were very pleasant and accomodating. We spent a very pleasant 4 hours in the lounge area playing a board game in front of a very festive Christmas tree. I would highly recommend this hotel. Great freeway access, quiet grounds and great pool area and workout room.

I booked this hotel 3 mths in advance for 3 nights. It is stated as being a new Garden Inn, it is really a 20 or 30 year old hotel being remodeled. It was a mess. But the topper was when I got home and checked my card on-line. The hotel had billed me for $152.00!!! I called them, and they said I had been billed as a no-show!! After staying there 3 nights!..Thank God I still had my receipts.

The Hilton garden was in a convenient location for riding bikes to the aquarium and bike trails along Monterey Bay. Very clean and convenient. Free parking and internet. Starbucks coffee in lobby in the morning.

Wonderful room, comfortable beds, all the goodies you could ask for. Staff was cold and impersonal, when a problem was occurring was insensitive and not trained. This was a Wonderful Hotel for the value and the room was outstanding, However I was very disappointed in how staff reacted to a major problem (water main broke and the hotel was without water for 2 plus hours) they did not have a Manager on duty to assist guests and the front clerk was not trained to react to the situation, I will stay again at a Hilton Garden as it was very comfortable!

The staff is excellent in making sure that you get whatever you need, that is in their power to give. The pool area closes too soon. I was very happy with the hotel overall. The staff were very friendly made our stay very comfortable, supplied us with everything we asked for. The rooms were very clean, and the beds were comfortable. the only problem is that the noise travels, so around 10 11:pm you might receive a call from the front desk from someone complaining from your TV being to loud or your door making to much noise when it shuts. If you choose to stay try to get the suites, they are in there own are, and you don't hear others as easily, nor them hearing you. They are more expensive, but are much, much more spacious and you have a flat screen TV.

Staff very friendly. Could hear baby in next room all night. Adjoining rooms are never good and this one lived up to that claim. The staff was very friendly and professional. The room was a handicapped room so it was very spacious w/ king bed. TV did not work. We were very tired and just wanted to watch a little and veg., 45 min a beer and a slice of pizza later the TV was replaced. The sleep system beds also did not work, they were comfortable anyway.

If you like to be away from tourist crowds, very nice location within 10 minute drive to Wharf and Cannery Row; nice hotel renovation. King sized bed, but was noticeably sunken in the middle. Also, HDTV but no HD channels. Reviews we read talked about recent hotel renovation and improved staffing and our experience supports this- modern style furniture/bedding, noticeable upgrades in the bathroom, wireless internet, notices from staff that they were available for any questions/concerns, good guides within hotel room. Individual room balcony/patio area was very nice, although the screen door was broken. Only complaints we have are the noticeable sinking in the middle of the mattress (not too bad, but noticeable), HDTV but no HD channels and complimentary coffee selection (fiancé was wishing it was better than Maxwell House, although I personally was okay with it). Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to family/friends. It was away from the hustle/bustle of the Wharf and Cannery Row areas, but you could be there within a few minutes if you wanted.

The hotel was clean, and good location. Our rooms were not available until 6:00 pm. Very inconvenient. We arrived at 4:00 pm and were told to come back in one hour - the rooms were not ready. After returning, the rooms were still not ready. This is not something we expected from this hotel.
