The hotel was fine, but when i got there they had no evidence of my booking through laterooms. Luckily they had an empty room for me. If i book through laterooms again, i will ring the hotel to confirm my booking.

Although stated on website, the confirmation I received didn't say about the 3pm check in or the breakfast being continental - more information on the confirmation please!Hotel itself is what I expect from a cheap hotel - staff weren't particularly friendly or interested, room was OK but not brilliant, long wait at bar, breakfast was below average and wasn't much choice for someone who doesn't eat bread or milk - an apple and dry frosties (I'm fussy I know) and the description was a bit deceptive to someone who doesn't know the NEC very well - 5 minutes from the back of the NEC but a bit of a trek from the Arena (25 minutes fast walk).

Room stank of Indian food, I like curries but this was ridiculous. Being this far out of town and a distance from the airport thought the 6 pound parking fee a rip off. Pub next door first class though!!!!!

Excellent hotel, but one that has alas charged me twice and so far declined to answer my e-mail about this mistake.

The room on the 3rd floor was in the eaves and the sloping ceiling was oppressive. It was very hot with no air conditioning and with restrictive window opening , the room was very stuffy. On returning at 5.00pm we had to ask for the room to be serviced as it had not been touched all day, even though the maid saw us leaving at 9.15am. The pillows were hard and uncomfortable and we both woke up with neck-ache. The hair-dryer didn't work and we were left to contend with dripping wet hair before breakfast. The breakfast buffet was adequate but had to ask for more orange juice as it had run out. At over £100 per night this is unacceptable.How-ever, the staff were very friendly and tried to correct all the above when asked....but we shouldn't have had to ask.

I had a meeting cancel and arrived at the hotel at 2pm to be told I would not be allowed to check in until 3pm. There doesnt seem to be any flexibility on this which I have never come across at any hotel I have ever stayed at before. If the room was not ready I understand - but that didnt seem to be the issue, it was just YOUCANT. I stay at Express by Holiday Inn quite regularly and am always happy with the cleanliness of the rooms, facilities etc but have to comment on the disabled room I was in this time. If you stay in one of these and you are not disabled, the wet room type approach means everything in the bathroom gets soaking, and it is really unpleasant to walk in the bathroom after a shower, and also I think quite dangerous . I would like to be asked at time of booking or checking in if I would be happy with a disabled room, in which case I would have the chance to say no, and stay somewhere else if that was all you had.

Everything was made easy. They even provided a bus to take us to NEC for £3.50. Saved us getting a taxi. Good service. Car park is £7.
