Nice hotel, good value for price, central location in easy walking distance from Potsdamer Platz. Individual travelers should be ready to face throngs of travelers traveling together, especially at breakfast. The hotel servedonly breakfast. This hotel provided very good value for the money. Courteous staff. Free room TV options included CNN and BBC. Comfortable, not luxurious, rooms. Fine free extended continental breakfast. Tour buses available at nearby Potsdamer Platz.

This is an above average property that offers decent pricing in what can be an otherwise, pricy city. Room size for Europe modest and adequate. We managed with 3 big suitcases and a couple of big carry ons. No fridge but vending available in lobby and a full service bar charging going rates. Housekeeping needs a little polishing and also do not expect washcloths to be on hand. Stand up shower and no extras in the bathroom. Clean and plenty of hot water. A/C did not work but it was not really needed. Open window worked just fine. This hotel caters to youth travel groups and budget tours so expect a madhouse at the breakfast buffet. Food common offerings and OK quality for a quick bite to go. Good resources nearby. Medium size supermarket and a drug store (no pharmacy) half block from hotel. Very handy if you need to pick up odds and ends and to not have pay tourist prices. Walking to metro is one long block and safe at night. Pizza joint nearby for kids and two good restaurants across from metro for the adults.

"I was concerned, initially, because the rate was very reasonable in a convenient part of town. I thought something must be wrong. In fact, nothing was. Rooms were clean and modern (if a bit small), breakfast was large and complete, and the staff was very helpful. The hotel was packed when we were there - groups, seniors, travelers - and everyone seemed to be treated well. No hesitation in recommending this hotel."

" This hotel has very clean, modern rooms, a friendly staff and a good continental breakfast. It's location is ideal for touring the popular sights and the SBahn and UBahn are very close as well. The rooms are small, if you get a room with a pull out sofa and plan to sleep two on it---it's going to be tight. I recommend getting two rooms if you have a family of four or a room with two queen beds--still, this hotel is a Great Value!! Parking is 12 Euro per day, but well worth it!!"

The Express by Holiday Inn in City Centre is a great location. Easy walk to Potsdammer Platz. Seconds from Anhalter Bahnhof. Breakfast is good with great coffee, though eggs are semi softboiled. Various coldcuts, yohgurt, cold cereals, and fresh fruit offer a reasonable selection. Clean room.

This hotel is "within walking distance" of Gendarmenmarkt only if you consider a 20-minute hike to be walking distance, which most people don't.

The entire hotel smells like it's one giant cigarette. Although they have a floor of non-smoking rooms, they will not honor reservations for those rooms. Even if you reserve a non-smoking room online, they will tell you once you get there that it is first-come-first-serve, and will not give you a room there because they already gave it away to somebody else. Flat out dishonest staff. Hotel gets 1 star rating for the tobacco stench, and 0 stars for the dishonest service.

We had an outstanding experience at this hotel: very clean, a friendly and helpful staff, fluent in English, great location with easy access to everything, generous breakfast buffet, and free access to a computer with internet access in the lobby--great for contacting family and friends back home. Highly recommmended for business or pleasure, family friendly.

Great hotel for a very low price in Berlin Mitte. Only couple minute walk to S Bahn at Anhalter Banhof station. 2 stops to Unter den Linden and all the central Berlin sights.Rooms a little small, but modern and clean. Staff is helpful. Breakfast is German and good. Quiet neighborhood

"As others have said, it is very close to the hotspots in Berlin. Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, the German Parliment buildings, the Tiergarden. One thing not mentioned is that it is about 5 minutes walking distance away from a subway stop."

Free internet, right by an S-Bahn stop, free breakfast. I didn't like that smoking was permitted in the lobby. We loved it. It was easy for us, we were tourists. It was right by an S-Bahn station and Check-Point Charlie and other sites were within walking distance. Free breakfast was really good. Free internet in the hotel lobby. We were very happy there.
