Location. Heating system very nosy and poor front desk help. the hotel has a great location and is clean however check in was horrible 25 minute to check in with one person in front of me. heating system kept me up all night long every 15 minutes coming on and was very loud, toilet ran off and on all night not a good stay at all. when front desk was made aware they said there wasn't anything they good do except say sorry.

Apparently this hotel is under new ownership. A letter dated March 1st and located on the front desk stated that the liquor license had not yet been transferred, but should be completed in 2 weeks. I checked in April 13th and the license still had not been granted. Oh well bureaucracy, but still a disappointment after a long week on the road for business. The check in line was extremely long and this I was told and observed, because they could not take credit cards electronically. Again new ownership was cited. All transactions needed to be dialed in. Including a CC deposit for possible room charges. The room had debris in the toilet. That is the polite way of saying it. The 6:30 am hotel shuttle to the airport was not yet available by 6:45 am, when I seized a taxi dropping off a passenger. This was no easy feat as there were 50 others waiting. Can you imaging loading people and luggage onto a bus and then slowly offloading at each terminal. I had an 8:45 flight and took no chances.

The workers were on strike outside and my rooms toilet kept running over. This happened 3 times, once everyday. The hotel was nicely located, but the front desk was not friendly. They gave my room to someone else and they gave me the keys to the same room. My toliet ran over everyday that I was there, and I was appaled at the service. Holiday Inn use to have a good name, but know I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Close proximity to JFK airport. It's an island, absolutely nothing around. Nice property. Very friendly & competent staff. Clean rooms. Van to airport was a piece of junk, no a/c very hot but did show up in a timely fashion. Good hotel if you've got to leave early in the morning out of JFK. In a bad neighborhood wouldn't recommend walking around. And as I said nothing around so you're stuck eating in the hotel restaurant. Which has really nice staff but the food isn't that good and not a value either.

None. Dirty, unorganized, delay in response, inefficient receptionist, delay in shuttle. I had a very bitter experience in this hotel. It was dirty, old, malodorous, unorganized, delay in response, inefficient receptionist, delay in shuttle, unfriendly room service and worst food at the restaurant. I will not recommend anybody to go there.

It takes a while for the complimentary shuttle bus. The staff was very accomadating. The pool was not heated. The local bus service stops right across the street so you can use public transportation.

My biggist complaint is the airport shttle service. You have to walk all the way from arrivals to departures to catch the shuttle in a very busy pick up area. I had to wait for 30 minutes for the shuttle to arrive and it had no AC and was about to fall apart. Getting to the airport was a little better but forget about speaking English.

Comfortable of bed, convenience of shuttle to/from airport. Doors not on slow release, slamming all night; bath with stopper, shower only. Very good location for JFK travel, free shuttle, pleasant staff, excellent food in bistro although bad service, noisy interior doors of guest rooms slamming all night, no slow release mechanism.

The hotel staff was exceptionally courteous, helpful, and friendly. The hotel is was under construction appeared somewhat cluttered. The hotel is old. The concierge and parking lot attendant gave excellent instructions for utilizing the subway and city bus systems for efficient economical transportation as compared to a taxi. The resteraunt was expensive although guests received 20% off one meal and a complimentary drink of your choice from the bar. The rooms were clean but.........maybe due to the construction........on our day of check out we did see two roaches crawling on the wall. Recommended to desk clerk that the room be exterminated before assigning it to another guest. Received hotel van transportation to and from JFK Airport, van ran every thirty minutes.

We enjoyed our stay - the best deal you can find in NYC metro. Take the shuttle back to JFK and get on the LIRR - 20 mins to Manhattan. The rooms were clean (no bedbugs!), and the service was excellent.

This was a travel website reservation, however, I made it very clear that I made to reserve a room at a Hoilday Inn with a POOL. The customer service representative stated this hotel had a pool, but fail to tell me the pool was under renovation. My family was not happy about staying in this hotel. Overall, the hotel is very nice.

Proximity to airport. The bathroom floor had not been cleaned. The lobby was clean and the bed was comfortable. I was surprised, given the price of the room, that a fee was required for internet usage. Shuttle service to the airport was great.

The Holiday Inn at JFK is at a great location if you need to stay close to the airport. It is very popular with flight crews and travelers alike. However, it is obviously suffering from its successful location. We checked in at 11pm on a Saturday night, and the line to check in snaked all around the large lobby. We waited over 45 minutes to check in, and asked the person who checked us in if it was alway like this. He said yes, and that it would continue being so busy for a little while longer when they will run out of rooms. Needless to say we took our key and made our way to our room, and just accepted the room as it was. It was made up and all the necessities were present and working, but the room was just dingy enough to inspire no confidance in the true level of cleanliness. We told the kids to sleep in their clothes and so did we.

The room was clean also the bathroom- also quiet considering highway is close. Common areas are neglected - transportation to and from jfk/ bus is on its last leg. The 10 min bus ride from hotel to joke is very long due to traffic. it took 30 min. the front desk needs to communicate this to customers. Also the hotel in a crumbling state on the exterior.

Pool and grounds were lovely. Front desk service very poor. The first room I was given had an issue with the air conditioning. The room temp climbed to 80. When I called front desk, they said they would send up an engineer. Then within 5 minutes, they informed me I would have to change rooms and would send someone up with a key. One hour later, after I had packed up and was waiting, no one showed at all. So I had to go downstairs and wait in line 20 minutes.

The Holiday Inn was very comfortable with large rooms with desk and seating area. The bathroom was very clean and spacious. The location to JFK was very convenient and they offer a free airport shuttle. We only sampled the breakfast buffet which was very good and the childrens' meals were free.

It was convenient to public transportation and the airport. The room needed a book of local info, restaurants, transportation, etc. It was comfortable and convenient. On the other hand, the restaurants within were over-priced and too fancy. It would have been helpful if the room provided a specific book of nearby places to eat and transit maps/info. The hotel did have information on a local pizza delivery, which was excellent and reasonably priced.

The Holiday Inn JFK was a nice experience from start to finish. The front desk staff was very welcoming and courteous. My room was spacious and comfortable and I went right down to the lounge twice during my two night stay. I was pleased with the restaurant with its basic menu. The food was ok to slightly above average and the staff was very accomodating. The only down in my opinion was the surrounding neighborhood. I would not want to look for a nice restaurant in the town we were in. I did, however, like the fact that I did not have to leave the premises to eat. Great location as far as branching off and going to different parts of New York. Overall, I give this hotel high marks from all of the things that are important to me.
