It's location in Soho was close to many things I like in NYC. It was a dump. The Holiday Inn Downtown (Lafayette at Howard) is an old building with very small rooms and none of the amenities I would expect for a hotel with its star. The food, I had breakfast on my last morning, was inedible and expensive $25 for the breakfast buffet that served cold, rubbery eggs. Fortunately for me, I was more interested in doing things in the city, so the hotel stay was a minimal part of my enjoyment.

The staff was more than friendly. Idid not like the overall design of the hotel. Anice place to stay if you have business in the area, however I would not recomend for long stays or family or romantic vacations.

The staff was very nice, the decor was attractive. My room was stifling hot with heat on at its lowest setting-freezing with heat off. The room was extremely tiny-if I hadn't been alone-it would have been impossible. Unable to control temp to a comfortable level. And there was a very funny smell in the hall way -overpowering. However desk staff and bartender and bellhops all nice pleasant helpful.

It met my expectations. It's location is great for someone who's enjoys in the middle of the action. The room was not large but rather big by New York standards. Even though we were on the 6th floor, we could still hear the sound of the subway passing by, but it was not a big problem.

Very nice neighborhood and friendly personal. The room was a little bit too small. Our vacancy in the Holiday Inn was very nice. From the hotel you get in two minutes to the metro and you arrive in less then 30 minutes everything in Manhattan. The hotel was clean and is good to stay for a whole week.

The doorman was very friendly. They were not accommodating. The room was tiny and I would not recommend this place for a family. If you plan on exploring NYC and don't care about a comfortable place to rest your head, then it suits this purpose. If you don't care being put in a smoking room or handicap accessible room with a full size bed (TINY), then go for it.

Staff excellent. Assigned tiny and smoke filled room for first two nights. Hotel calls itself Holiday Inn Soho but really should be Holiday Inn Chinatown. Not most fabulous neighborhood. Right at subway stop so easy to go anywhere from there. Staff very helpful and attentive. Unfortunately place was completely booked and we got a tiny smoke-filled room for the first two nights. After that they moved us in to a nice smoke-free room while we were out. Adequate but not amazing hotel.

This hotel was clean and quiet and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Staff was always helpful and knowledgable. Exceptional NYC hotel experience. Close to wall street, seaport and all subways etc. It was a small room but that didn't matter to us. Mostly we slept and showered. excellent.

Directions and hints by staff! Quick elevators! Allowed us to use microwave in restaurant. Dirty hotel, parking, room size, and lack of amenities. Hotel floors and hallways were disgusting! The only clean place was the lobby. Staff was never around for help! Her directions and tips for sights were so helpful! Valet took forever to retrieve car. Surrounding area was not safe for anyone. Coffee maker was under TV and it was hard to reach and use. No trash bags were provided for trash cans. Even though we had three people and were placed in a room with only a double bed, it was a very miserable stay with not enough room to sleep! When asked about it the hotel wanted to charge us to have two doubles.

The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel said they could not guarantee room type. The first night one of the group had to sleep on the floor. The next day they found a room with two beds. The location was away from the hassle of midtown between Chinatown and Little Italy with a lot of neat places to eat, and a lot of counter fit watches and purses for sale. Fun trip.

Good location, very friendly and helpful staff. The hallways looked cheap, the room was tight. Good location. Friendly staff. Pleasant lobby, but hallways and rooms not up to a 3-star upscale level. Room was pleasant, but crammed. Too little space for luggage.

Hotel is in a great location, friendly staff. Rooms were of course small, but clean. Standard decor. . Right by the 6 (takes you up to the Met and Guggenheim) and other lines close by (1-2 blocks) as well if you need to get to Times Square. Very reasonable price at the time of booking.

There was nothing I liked about this hotel. 2 in 1 shampoo, dirty walls in room. I have stayed in many 3 and 4 star hotels for business in NYC and this is not a 3 star hotel.

The room we stayed in had two queen beds. The floor space was minimal. For the two of us traveling together, we had to choreograph our movements to get to and from the bathroom and closet. It was adequate for our needs but not generous.

In all of my travels, the Marriott Courtyard hotels have been a wonderful experience. The reason being is what I call "a simple elegance". Their morning breakfast buffet is just enough to get me started, the room are very celan and spacious enough and the treadmill is all that I need. The most importnat aspect is the ease in which I can get in and out of the hotel. There is just enough staff to provide superior service without overwhelming you. Plus, the "points" are really cool and I use them whenever possible.
