Fantastic staff, ambience, upkeep, and location. Valet parking required. Mills house is right Downtown in the historic district. Interior decorating is spot on and all staff was friendly, professional, and enthusiastic!

The convenience of location to downtown area. Nothing. The hotel was absolutely beautiful! The staff was friendly and the service exceptional. Should I find myself returning to Charleston, I would definitely stay here again.

The decor, seasonal decor, location, room amenities. Did not retrieve lost items from laundry. The hotel is located in the heart of the historic district. we parked the car and did everything on foot from this location. The staff was courteous and accomodating. This was a fine hotel and I would stay here again.

The whole experience. Outstanding staff, one of the most friendly hotels we have encountered. Beautiful decor and perfect location for sightseeing. Breakfast buffet was delicious.

This is an older hotel that has been renovated. The rooms are well appointed but they show there true age if you look too closely. Over all a great hotel and I would stay there over most of the others in the area.

The Mill House was very nice. The corner room was spectacular! The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast bar was outragously expensive!! The service at the restaurant was not very good at breakfast. (also expensive I may add.) The patio with the fountain was beautiful. The pool area was nice with plenty of space for sun bathing!. The gift shop was reasonably priced. However, other than the maids and the guys unpacking your car and taking the luggage to your room the staff were a little uppity and snobby. There were receptions and weddings there the whole time we stayed there. At these times the resaurant & bar was closed to other guests and the wedding at the pool area made it inconvenient and embarrassing for us pool goers to swim and sun. The wedding planner made it clear that we were not welcome there.(5:00 pm & beyond) We sat at pool anyway for a little while. The reception guests were very noisy outside until nearly 1:00am. The parking cost us $100.00 unless we had them park our car blocks down the road in a church parking lot!! They did not tell us this when we booked our reservation. Ask ahead of time as to what events will be there during your stay. I wish we had. We had an intimate wedding @ the Battery and wanted a quiet, restful honeymoon.

The hotel was located in a great area and we did not have to drive the whole time we were there, which was awesome. For what we paid for the I thought the amenties in the room would have been better. Their was no microwave and no refrigerator. The room was smaller then I have expected. My wife and I have been to many places and did not have to pay as much for the same or more amenties I was expecting. Maybe the price would not have been as bad if parking was included, but it was not and they did not validate parking. No one helped us with our bags or offered to help and check out was crowded and took to long. I would have never taken this place to be a five star hotel. Though the pool area and the patio was beautiful. Also, beware of drunk homeless men wondering into the hotel.

Location. Parking was not convenient. In addition to the above, I feltfor the amenities offered it seemed to fit more in line with a 3 star hotel.

I stayed there during a conference. The accommodations were really nice. The room was nice, but the service was better. They provide all of the amenities and turn down service. The restaurant food and service was very good as well. As far as the conference facilities were concerned, the rooms were a bit too cold. Conference food is often not good, but this was very good. The location is ideal for a safe walk at night to most trendy restaurants and sites--a big plus since I had not rented a car. A shuttle and a bus both stopped across from the hotel. The front desk seemed unfriendly when I checked in; however, at checkout they were very helpful.

The location was great to allow for walking and exploring the city. Only complaint was for check-in. We arrived an hour before check-in time and the room was not ready, which was fine so we went off to explore a bit. We returned 2 hours after check-in time, hot, tired and grouchy and the room was still not ready. It was a holiday and the desk person said they were having houskeeping issues.

Extremely friendly staff and room was extraordinary. This hotel is located in the historic district of town. It had all the comforts, amenities and services offered by the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff was also upgraded my room to the concierge leve (completely unexpected). Staff was professional and very knowlegeable.

It was charming, historic looking, service and location. I think you should have free continental breakfasts and should have gym. I would rate this hotel a 10, and would recommend this to others.

Excellent location. Valet parking prompt and efficient. Very helpful staff. Restaurant was slow and overpriced. $15 BBQ shrimp appetizer consisted of 4 small shrimp and 3 potato chips. Very nice would stay again.

Great location, friendly Bell staff, quaint and comfortable rooms. Gym could be bigger. Very conveniently located with nicely done and well decorated rooms. Easy access to most restaurants in Charleston, SC and great place to ride bikes, run along the waterfront. Would come back in a second.
