Good location with bus stops right outside for easy access to York Centre (1 mile ish). Food seemed quite expensive, however there is an excellent family friendly pub across road from hotel. Breakfast was wonderful buffet style, great choice, especially for kids. Only real downside was price of drinks in bar (as with any hotel) and not a great selection of draught beers/lagers.

Second visit to this hotel which was even better than the first. Being out of York it is more peaceful. The staff were welcoming, polite and helpful and a small probelm with the TV remote was quickly dealt with by a pleasant member of housekeeping.It was excellent value for money.

Room was a bit smalle for 4 of us, but we arrived late and used as stop over. Very easy to find, close to centre and racecourse. Breakfast was very good and varied.

A very pleasant hotel which, despite being close to a main road had a quiet, semi-rural atmosphere. The bedroom was clean and of reasonable size with a pleasant outlook. The hotel breakfast, served in the light and airy dining room, was of good standard. The only minus was one common to many hotels today, young staff with patchy English and apparently limited training.

On bus route close to city centre - 5 mins ride away. Clean, family friendly. Buffet breakfast very good.

This hotel is old and is trying to look up to date. The rooms are shabby and there are no ice machines. If you are still in your room when they come to make it up, they never come back. It was not up to my standards.

Would recommend this hotel!Stayed with two teenage children. Family room - clean fresh and tidy. Good location - just short bus trip into centre - buy a day saver! Staff nice - food great - especially breakfast. Would return to this hotel and have recommended it to friends already!

Good value for money.The hotel public areas are very nice, however the room decor was looking a little run down and in need of a face lift. The bathroom is very small and the shower only provided a light sprinkle the majority of water dribbling out of the base of the shower head, blocked showerhead maybe?We had a family room, and the small sofa bed was really not of a good standard and didn't provide a comfortable night for the two boys with us. The staff were very helpfull and can't be faulted. Breakfast was very good but the restaurant menu in the evenings was quite limited. Good pub food just across the road but get in early it's very popular. Overall not a bad experience.

Easy to find and plenty of parking. A good walk in to the city (about 25 mins). Friendly helpful staff, room was large and clean but basic and a bit tatty. Breakfast not great, hot food under a heat lamp and not very appetising. Overall a pleasant stay though.

PleasureStayed here again as it is convenient for us to access family from here. Lovely clean room, bedding too, facilities good, bathroom clean, plenty of hot water and lovely clean towels. Staff lovely and friendly, always willing to help. We were B & B so great value and loads of choice. Would stay again, lovely place.Only one downside - drinks in bar far too expensive - and restaurant food expensive too. Many guests went to Fox & Roman across the Road as drinks were very, very much cheaper than the hotel, as were their superb meals. Think hotels should take the hint on prices and maybe their bar/restaurant would be full too.
