We had a wonderful view of the Basilica of Saint Peter from our window. Unfortunately that window was one of the only two small windows in the entire room, and we had a corner room. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

the location was idle for being close to almost everything. half block to st. peter's & the vatican, 25 minute walk to spanish steps, 40 minute walk to the colosium. the excursion company's send a shuttle bus to pick you up to the front door. the hotel does have a shuttle to & from the airport & port for cruises. breakfast (included) is typical for the continent, & the same every morning. we were there for 5 days & toured trevi garden, vatican tour, roman country side, old rome, & pompei. you could very easliy spend 2 weeks in rome alone & still not see everything. there several nice restarunts within walking distance, no need for a car (driving habits of the italians & lack of parking are crazy). bus service & taxi's are all over the place, but we walked.

The hotel is a block from the Vatican! Wide variety of tour buses pick up and drop off in front of the hotel too. Close to other city transportation, though we did not use metro. Close to shopping, restaurants, Hadrian's Castle, St. Peter's/Sistine Chapel. Free breakfast is good, but the same every day. City tours available at the desk. Desk staff helpful, multi-lingual. Didn't have a pool, and in the summer this would have made the hotel wonderful. Rooms quite bland in decor and entertainment, but large. A/C in room not especially effective, but temp was tolerable.

A hotel just two short blocks from St. Peter's Bassilica. It's centrally located, we didn't need to bother with a cab for dinner or out tour of the Vatican. The staff is friendly and the property itself is filled with history. There are antiques galore in this place, and it made our stay just that much more interesting. I really enjoyed the European style breakfast as well as the gorgeous frescos in the dining room. The front desk staff was able to help this language challenged American find whatever I needed and got us out of a jam with a late arriving taxi to the airport.

After a few negotiations we got a good room. The location is just great. The breakfast area is pleasant and in summer you can sit out in the garden. The breakfast is generous for Italian standards. We stayed there twice for 4 days each and we highly recommend it. The second time we got an even better room on the fourth floor. The people at reception were after an initial warm up period quiet friendly. There are restaurants and a few small shops nearby and the bus stop is just 200 down the road. Most of the historic sites can be reached on foot, however we took a lot of times the bus number 40 which cuts right trough the middle of ancient Rome. At night the view down the road and of St Peters is just great and the beauty is that you are right there.

The location for this hotel was very good. You were practically next to the Vatican and within walking distance to other historic sightseeing places. The room was a good size and the hotel was very charming and had character. The breakfast was good, and the staff was very helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

The location is fantastic, just steps from St. Peter's Square. The included breakfast is a perfect way to start the day, and the staff is so helpful. The hotel is a part of the city's history, and made the trip special. The downstairs area is great with a supply of newspapers (in english too!) in the morning and a great bar with snacks, fabulous espresso and a great selection.

The location and staff are great, however the room could use new carpeting and having the bathroom renovated.

Location was perfect with a great view of the Vatican. The place has a lot of character. This was the residence of a Cardinal and has many rooms with exceptional paintings. It is probably the closest hotel to the Vatican

This hotel was the best one we used on our trip to Italy. It was in a great location, friendly service (everyone spoke English, too), and fantastic free breakfast buffet. The rooms were small but adequate, and the building was in great shape and really pretty/historic. Even though it was on a busy street the rooms were quiet. I would definitely stay there again.

This excellent hotel is located near the Vatican and only a 15 minute walk to the Spanish steps with ATMs close by. The hotel is on old palace - the rooms are large, and the bathrooms modern in a classic style. Everything was very clean. The decor is simple - ideal given the historical nature of the building. The staff are highly professional, very helpful and the reception staff all speak very good English. We stayed at about 27 European hotels during our winter 08/09 trip and this was the overall best, mainly due to the people.
