This hotel, although very well situated in Amsterdam, close to everything, was a great disappointment. I stayed there one night in December 2008, thank God it was only one night. The staff seemed pleasant enough, but the hotel itself is in serious need of a make-over. First of all, you enter the hotel through a restaurant. The property itself is generally run down and dirty. The carpet throughout and especially in the tiny rooms, were filthy. Cracked walls and old sinks throughout. Obviously the owners (Damrak Hotels) are milking this property to the maximum. Add to this, I had problems with my credit card. They charged my room twice for the same night, and after repeated telephone calls and e-mails from Canada to try and correct the problem, I have yet to hear back from them (1 month later). Totally not impressed with this hotel. I will never be staying here again and would not recommend it to anyone. There are better options for the price range. I guess you get what you pay for in life (60 Euros...or in my case 120 Euros). Keep away!!!
