We are delighted to welcome you to the Hotel de Latour-Maubourg. Only a few steps from the Invalides Square, the Hotel de Latour-Maubourg is a splendid private mansion of the epoch Napoleon III. The hotel owes his name to Jean Hector de Fay, Marquis de la Tour Maubourg and creator of the Forging Mills of Gueugnon in 1724. The recent renovation in 2006 has been conceived in memory of his innovative spirit. The hotel is composed of 16 rooms and one Junior Suite, all individually designed using fine materials and antique furniture providing historical accents. Original mouldings, fire places, the stunning spiral staircase and the vaulted cellar have been combined with modern and elegant comfort. The peaceful inner court yard with terrace and garden allows a view of the Parisian neighbourhood. Located in a quiet street in the Eiffel Tower area, the hotel is just a few steps from the Invalides, near the Avenue des Champs Elysees, the Museums Orsay and Rodin.

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 5 night. This hotel is really well located, just behing the Invalids museum, approximatly 10-15 min walk to the Eiffel tower, and the Place de la Concorde. The Room was pretty and very clean and well appointed. The Hotel reception staff were very helpfull. They organised the airport transfers, a restaurant booking. The Communication was exellent, with email questions and requests beign quickly responded to. Both my girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The free use of internet was also very pleasent and usefull.One minor drawback was the location and size of the actual room (#3). It is located just behind reception, and can get slightly noisy, in the evening when other guests are coming in and out of the hotel. This room is a superior room, and seemed a little bit small for this upgrade in class.I have a few Recomendations: 1) For those of us who might not speak and understand French, More than 2 english channels on the TV might be usefull (there is only som much CNN one can watch)2) A DVD player in the room and the ability to borrow movies would also be a nice touch. For those evening when you are just too tired to go out for more than a quick bite to eat.3) In toom Tea and Coffee making facilities, which are now prety much standard in most hotels.Overall i would like to give this hotel 9/10.

I was sent a form to fill in and return by e-mail before I arrived - asking what morning newspaper I wanted and what colour of roses I preferred - neither the newspaper or flowers appeared. Opted for room service breakfast - delivered late both mornings; tepid coffee, not-fresh orange juice, OK croissant but no plate on the first day! I booked a so-called deluxe room - if this was deluxe goodness only knows what the standard rooms are like! Shabby chic to be generous, patched carpets to be more accurate. And since when did a a 1970s grey bathroom suite (with un-mathcing white WC), chipped tiles, tatty lino and hard off-white towels make for a deluxe bathroom? Very, very disappointing - overpriced and over-rated.
