The hotel has a great historic element and is located as close to the beach as possible.

Had good view of the coastline. Mold on the base boards and on ceiling in bathroom. This hotel is way too over priced considering the aftermath of Hurricane Lake. The prices in the bar are astonishing. My wife ordered a margarita, it was $27.50. The room size was good but there was mold on the ceiling and baseboards. The location of the hotel was excellent and the staff were friendly.

With the exception of one woman, the staff was wonderful. Very small rooms. The staff, with the exception of one woman, was polite, professional, friendly, helpful and cheerful. Wonderful access to the beach and other Galveston attractions, very comfortable beds and a gorgeous pool area.

For the price of $170.00 the room did not even have a CHAIR to sit in!!! If you wanted to sit down you had to sit on bed! Made it where you couldn't even order room serve to eat, NO WHERE TO SIT TO EAT!!! Not even a table, just bed and TV, not even a desk!!

The cleanliness and friendliness. The room we stayed in was small. Very large, majestic looking, well kept, historic hotel. Very accommodating.

Location good. Rooms small, only one bed. The hotel was absolutely fine, just not ideal for a group with many children.

The rooms were too small. The bathroom was tiny. The air conditioner didn't work at first then, after it was fixed, it was either too cold or, when it was off, too stiffling. No middle ground. The pool bar was closed Monday and Tuesday. The are surrounding the hotel was rundown and seedy. The beach was dirty. The maitre'd was rude and indifferent to our plight when I told him my wife's dinner was cold and overcooked. He really didn't care. The waiter, however, was very nice and offered to pay for my meal. I left him a big tip. When I told the front desk that we were leaving a day early they didn't even inquire why. They were indifferent as well. The Wyndam Galvez hotel is a beautifully restored hotel but not worth the money they ask for their rooms. They offered no ammenities except free internet. Breakfast was OK but pricey. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else. Frankly, the whole of Galveston is a waste of time.

The breakfast chef was talkative while most competent told stories and cooked! Would have preferred help getting in with our luggage not enough staff then. Overall ambiance of the older traditional hotel atmosphere was thrilling, and made you feel a part of history as well as the comfort of the rooms, staff, and food except for the initial lack of attention getting in and up to our room!

Great location/ great service. Room was very small. The only problem was that we have 4 people in our room (me, my husband and 2 children) and one queen bed. They said that the hotel was full, which I doubt, but they did bring up a roll away bed.

Everything was of very good quality, beautiful looking, and the staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. Nothing. Wonderful historic hotel with loads of charm and updated in all the right places. Clean with attractive, high quality furnishings and bedding. Like the extra large beach towels and the option of free, gated parking. Glamorous drive-up. Comfortable beds. It's a winner. Free, accessible computers.

View was amazing! Staff was great! Hotel was gorgeous! Very romantic! We would have liked a king sized bed. The room was a little sparser than we thought it would be. Hotel Galvez was amazing! It is a new favorite for us! We will definitely stay there the next time we visit Galveston. It is a beautiful historic building and has been kept true to the period. The room was very nice and even though it was wonderful, it was a bit smaller than we were expecting. Perfect for two people who didn't need to spend much time in the room. The hotel staff was very helpful and polite, displaying good old-fashioned manners that are hard to come by these days. We felt like a true lady and gentleman of a bygone era!

The view of the Gulf as well as the hotel was beautiful. The hotel's decor reminded me of the Clark Gable days. We only had to cross the street to be the Gulf. The folks in Galveston are very friendly.

You had to pay valet to park in front or park way around the corner. They charged extra for internet access. That's like charging extra for electricity these days! When I complained, I was told that I could always upgrade to their 'membership plan'. Yeah, right. Small room. Dank smell. No microwave/fridge. Not enough pillows. Limited TV. Bad experience, all around. I would not go back.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and the hotel was beautiful! Very clean well decorated rooms and the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in! The front desk was helpful with all questions and we had great room cleaning service. The pool didn't appear to be open while we were there though and while the water was warm the beaches were dirty. I suggest going during the summer, because during the spring nothing is open!!!

I expected the room to be at least the standard size but our room was the smallest room I have ever stayed in a hotel. Our oceanview room had a big A/C unit blocking half of the window. Breakfast for two cost us over 16.00 and was cold and mediocre at best. The lobby was drab but the customer service was really good. All in all, Hotel Galvez was not very memorable at all and I don't plan on staying there again.

From the time of our arrival until we left, we couldn't have been happier. (except the weather was cold) The only trouble we had was finding the towels at the pool. Food was excellent-staff friendly and accomadating.

My stay at the Hotel Galvez was great! It?s charming and well kept with a beautiful view of the water from our room. The pool area is probably the best part of the hotel and had a great swim up style bar. I would definitely recommend eating at Bernardo?s while you?re there, the food was great. The staff was extremely accommodating and had that true Southern hospitality feel. I really loved this hotel, and would stay again.

Great robes provided with the rooms, historic ambience. Lots of work needed to be completed because of the hurricane. Very romantic, could have enjoyed the facility much more had it not been raining the entire time. Pool looked wonderful as did the beach, but ah, the rain. Would definitely go again.

I like the location. It is close to the venue of the conference I was at. It is kid friendly and accessible to the beach, stores. The staff was not very attentive right away with needs we requested. Affordable for an upscale hotel.
