Does what it says on the tinI wanted to save money on accommodation, chose to stay in a two star place and did not have expectations of anything different. Mare Nostrum does what it says on the tin; it's no frills but clean; it's charmless but friendly; my room was small but that's what I paid for; the plumbing worked fine. I'm happy rating it 5 across the board.

For £30 a night, I wasn't expecting much but the prison cell-like room with a single bed and a view of the dumpster that I was given was truly depressing. None of the "terrace or balcony with a marvellous view and sea breeze". More like wafting odours of rubbish. Oh, and the airconditioning was working. Anyway, I bitched and moaned until I got a better room, which was actually fine, although still no sign of the marvellous view and sea breeze. At least it was cheap and within walking distance to Space, my two principal criteria.

I was deeply disapointed with the quality of the hotel and the clientel. Food was shocking and one night here was more than enough.
