Amazing building, high ceilings, great bar courtyard area for happy hour. My room was very small. Everything was excellent. I asked for a king room but knew I was getting the smallest room in the place - and I did.

They give you wine and a fish. Room was small. No DVD player and internet not really free.

Beautiful hotel, convenient location. The companion goldfish was a nice touch- although the front desk staff didn't mention it- I asked. It's a little slow to get your car from the valet service- they must have to park it a good distance away from the hotel. Lovely hotel- more expensive than where I usually stay, but a nice change from generic chain places. Being an older building, the rooms had some really nice, interesting touches- high domed ceilings, very deep windowsills- but on the other hand, the modernizations to the room looked a bit jury-rigged, and the pipes made noise all night. Overall, I enjoyed the stay- the hotel restaurant was excellent, the location was perfect for sightseeing. I would certainly stay here again.

Staff was great. Hotel is in an old post office. Great staff. Room was nice and clean. They brought me a dorm size refrigerator to my room at no extra charge. Complimentary coffee in theam in the lobby. Free wine and beer from 5-6pm in the lobby. Parking is one drawback, $34 a night.

My son and I stayed here for four nights. This is a great place. It's centrally located, clean, and the staff were all very helpful. We will stay here again on our next trip to DC. The room had everything we needed and more. Even the samples in the bathroom with first class.

I stayed for the weekend with a friend and had a great stay! The staff was very nice and attentive, very welcoming. The wine reception is a great idea and the gentleman serving the wine was polite and kind. The National Mall is only about 4 blocks away. We were abel to walk everywhere. Many great restaurants in the area and Metro station is just across the street. The room was a little small but very clean and modern. Loved the bed and the high ceilings. I would recommend the Hotel Monaco to all my friends.

The hotel is very close to the mall and monuments, and the train across the street was convenient. Going two blocks in the wrong direction leads you into a bad neighborhood. Staff were not knowledgeable at all about anything tourists would want to know; they had no recommendations about restaurants, did not know about a closed museum. Rooms small but clean. Wine reception was nice. Restaurant was overpriced and service there was so-so. Area kind of shuts down over the weekend; it was difficult finding a place to eat.

Beautiful hotel, great staff, just a fun time throughout. Nothing. Centrally located at the metro Chinatown stop. Staff members go out of their way to make sure guests needs are met. Historic building, beautifully remodeled. Wine hour was also fantastic.

planned a late check in and passed on opportunity to eat because of the "24 hour room service." arriving at 12 pm there were only 4 choices on the menu. Hotel could not even accommodate a burger and fries. Room was located in basement with poor window location and no view. employees in "staff only" door across the hall were talking loudly and screaming profanities. staff memeber entered the room to count mini bar while my wife sat on the bed waiting for him to leave. he could have come later and billed us. I usually stay at the W. Hotel when I travel to NYC and took a chance on what appeared to be a nice boutique hotel. the service and ammenities were not even comparable to the W. Maybe it was beacause i booked through orbitz. I deserve my money back. what a waste.
