Very nice decor, friendly staff, nice upscale lounge located inside hotel. Lack of public parking; had to valet every day. The hotel was beautifully decorated, very art-decor with very nice rooms. The staff was friendly, courteous and always there to help with whatever you needed - directions, recommendations for nearby dining, etc. We would definitely stay there again!

Nice location, great barandcool snake skin chair in the room. The TV was on the fritz, the heat light was broken in the bathroom and the room is small with a curtain for a closet door, pretty cheezy. Great location downtown, rooms are small with decent ammmenities. Front desk is ugly. The bar is very nice. The rooms have a curtain for a closet door, tacky. The bed was comfortable.

Smell of lobby. No pool, small lobby. Overall, it was a good value for price. I'm not sure if it's a 4 star deluxe, but it comes close.

Convenient location. Rooms need updating/fixing light fixtures loose on wall. Helpful staff when overcharged for services, clean but looked like it needed some updating. Wallpaper loose in some places and light fixtures looked very loose and wobbly on the wall. Toilet needed repair when we arrived, but staff was prompt to fix. Overall good.

This is a high quality hotel. What one needs to consider is the need for a breakfast dining room, etc. Meals are available in room but to find restaurants you're better off going to State Street or Michigan or other local places. Also, there were no soft drink or snack machines on each floor. On my last day, a street person made it in and was soliciting me for money and no one caught on to get him out. He shouldn't even have gotten past security. They need to pay better attention. There are many other hotels close by, I will pick one of them next time.

I've stayed in quite a few Chicago hotels and Hotel Sax is definitely one of my favorites. The hotel staff are incredibly helpful, the decor is really fun, and the room I had was much bigger (and cushier) than I'd expected. I was really impressed with how little outside noise there was and the list of amenities was fantastic. The Hotel is located downtown in the financial district (I think) but it's walking distance from great restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping. I was in town for business and couldn't have asked for a better hotel stay. I'll definitely be staying with them again the next time I'm in Chicago.

6 of my George Washington U Frat brothers got together the weekend of July 12th to go to the Cubs vs. Giants game (Cubs won 8-7). We do this every year, and decided we would actually stay at a "real" hotel this year. One guy's wife travels with business, and recommended the Hotel Sax. Glad she did. This place used to be the House of Blues which makes it pretty cool from the start. It doesn't look like any hotel I have ever stayed in. Everything was really funky in a good way. The rooms are awesome. Plasma TVs, CD players, huge beds, and quality coffee are basically the only things guys need to survive. The bartender even whipped up some special drink for us. They called cabs for us, and had them waiting to take us to the field. They had this plush set up with all the latest games on XBOX, movies and music on Zune players, and food and drinks. We felt like we were back in college, hanging out, playing games, and drinking beer. This was like you died and went to heaven. Check-in and chieck-out were easy, and didn't take a lot of time.

Fast elevators! The immitation snake skin chair. We really enjoyed this hotel. It is newly renovated, so everything is clean and new. The 42-inch flat-screen TV was very nice. Good location. Very comfortable bed. There was a pillow-top mattress and plenty of pillows. We stayed in a deluxe king room, which was large for downtown Chicago. The staff was very friendly and the elevators are the fastest I've experienced in a hotel. With places to be, we never waited for an elevator. Great stay!

The Hotel Sax was everything i thought it would be, Good Service, Clean and centrally located. The room was outstanding. If you can upgrade to the Deluxe double, do it, its definitly worth the extra money. The room was larger then average, good closet space and drawers. The t.v.(Plasma) has like fifty channels, so if you want to stay in one night you wont run out of things to watch. Crimson Lounge is a must and Ten pin has reminded me how fun bowling can be after a couple of Martinis. Would definitly stay there again...

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Sax for our anniversary/vacation. We had never stayed here before so we didn't know what to expect. The hotel exceeded our expectations. The room was great with comfortable beds, plenty of room, and the hotel was located close to everything we were interested in. However, the best part about Hotel Sax was the staff. The concierge was one of the most helpful people we've ever met. She helped us to get reservations, made great suggestions on restaurants and basically helped make our stay perfect. The day we were supposed to leave the hotel arranged towncar service to the airport for less than what a taxi would have cost. The only slightly bad thing about the hotel was the high prices for the in-room bar and that the Crimson lounge downstairs catered to a much younger crowd; however, all in all Hotel Sax will now be our regular place to stay when we go to Chicago.

I would love to give this hotel a great review. The room was excellent and their Microsoft studio innovative and fun. However, our stay was ruined when we picked up our car from their valet service and found that the car had been completely ransacked and some cash stolen (luckily we removed the real valuables before leaving the car). I was just really upset that we had been violated and when I complained to management, I was told, quite indifferently, that the hotel did not run the valet parking (that their doormen push, by the way). They and the parking management gave me the run around so I finally demanded that the parking charges be removed since my car would have been safer on the street, they did remove the charges. I did park my car on the street going forward and, surprise, nothing more happened to the car. I live in NYC, which is supposed to be crime central and I have never had a break in before. Maybe it's Chicago, but I'm thinking the hotel/parking facility should be more responsible in keeping guest cars safe! I will not feel safe about staying there again.

Great public spaces and very friendly and helpful personnel. The lighting above the sink was inadequate. Hard to see for shaving or putting on makeup. The Hotel Sax is a modern, luxurious, well located accommodation from which to explore Chicago.

The facility is very nice, new and clean. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The decor in the lobby and the Crimson Lounge is beautiful. Although, the fragrance scent they have in the air is over bearing. The facilities are lacking but there are several restaurants close by. The Crimson gets kind of clubby on the weekends so you would have to be okay with this. Room service is costly for what you get. Pretty average hotel for the money.

I really enjoyed the combination of modern and antique decor. The paint in the bathroom by the door jam was cracked and peeling. Upon arrival, it was hard to find the valet to take our car. As I inspected the room, I noticed that the paint in the bathroom right near the floor at the door jam was cracked and peeling. Also, the information binder in the room said that we had a mini bar, which we did not. All-in-all, however, a great hotel that I would recommend. The lounge was outstanding and the service from the concierge was simply great.

Concert was at house of blues and hotel was very crowded with very young concert goers. Decor was very unusual and for a more mature traveler, this was not a great choice especially when a concert was on the same day. Lines were wrapped around the hotel.
