"Hotel du Louvre was fantastic! Beautiful hotel right on Rue de Rivoli. Our room was literally a stone's throw from the Louvre. Furnishings are very nice and the staff is exceptional. For many months, I had a picture of the hotel as the wallpaper on my computer at work. Certainly no other hotel has gotten that honor from me! I HIGHLY recommend this hotel - expensive, but well worth it! "

"Contrary to information on this site, there both a dining room and bar, along with a small fitness center. Metro stop below hotel is convenient. Across street from Louvre. Beautiful rooms and exceptional services. Have stayed here 5 times, always VERY impressed"

The location is perfect - right across the street from the Louvre and 10 minute walk to St. Germain. Close to all Metro and bus lines so you can get to any part of Paris in 10-15 mins. And you get an awesome view of the Louvre, especially at night. On Rue de Rivoli (back side of hotel), there are numerous crepe and baguette places to choose from---all of them great. Starbuck's and McDonald's are right around the corner if you get home cravings (perfect if traveling w/ children). Great resaturants nearby and concierges Sebastian and Francois were fantastic. We had a junior suite w/ breakfast. The room was good size @ 425 square feet - considering this is Europe, the size is acceptable. The bed was nice and comfortable, the bathroom was big w/ marble tiles. 2 sinks, shower and tub. Good closet space - my husband, two year old and I had plenty of space for the week we were there (just keep luggage at the corner of the room). It was a fabulous trip for someone like me who's super critical and took 6 months to plan this vacation. We're happy to have chosen this hotel - no regrets whatsoever. The not so great experience: 1) the shower leaked 2) had ac issue that was later addressed 3) no early check-in or late check-out 4) hotel was going under some renovation. All of these small issues cannot take away from the location and the service. Tips: Get the museum pass from the concierge - it's sooo worth it! Bring the most comfortable shoes - buy them if you don't have a pair, you will walk at least 10 miles a day. Take it all in - Paris is so wonderful.
