The linens were high quality, beds very comfortable. The noise of construction near by was very loud. The linens are top quality, and the bed is the most comfortable I've experienced in a hotel. The hotel is old so the bathrooms are small, but the toiletries are high quality. The staff is very accommodating. One problem - the Marriott across the street is being enlarged, and the construction noise started at 7:30 AM.

The Intercontinental The Barclay in New York City was in an excellent location for our trip to New York City. From the time we entered the impressive lobby the feeling was one of comfort. The room was very clean and comfortable. I was impressed with the friendliness of the staff, from the Cleaning Ladies to the Bell Captains on duty. Everyone had a smile and a Friendly attitude. I would recommend the hotel and would not hesitate to book again.

Room and fitness center as well as lobby dining was great. I could not print out my boarding pass however, using the computers in the lobby. The business office offered to do it for me though!

Service. The room was very small. The bathtub drained extremely slow. The curtain rod broke. The TV remote stopped working and the message light could not be turned off. I informed the front desk and the hotels operator and nothing was done in the 5 days I stayed.

Intercontinental Hotels are our favorites and the Barclay is no exception. The location is super-close to shopping, Times Square and Central Park. The room and bathroom were small.

Great location, easy access to everything, quiet, and very large comfy room by NYC standards. Extremely expensive restaurant/room service for just pretty OK food. ($45 eggs).

My husband and I stayed in a small room on the 8th floor. It was perfect for our over night stay in NYC after a Broadway matinee and a dinner out. We were able to take Metro North to NYC and never need to take a taxi. Very good location and a very classic and old New York feel and atmosphere.

Location was good and staff friendly. It is worn out. The hotel needs to be updated. Furnitures are old and so is the overall crowd. Bathroom was extremely small and the room was as a 3 star hotel room. But hey, it's NYC and you really don't spend that much time in the room.

I stayed at the Waldorf ;wonderful experience, as always; next door to this hotel during the week for work and decided to fly my girlfriend out for the weekend and see a show. We booked last minute and this was one of the few hotels that had rooms available. I stayed at the Atlanta location once and it was great so I took a shot. BAD IDEA. The room is entirely too small. With a suitcase on the rack, you can't navigate around the bed. The edge of the sink actually hangs over the edge of the tub and if someone is in the shower you can't really get ready at the sink/vanity because the shower curtain prevents that. the shelf behind the toilet is ;in the way; as well. tube television, tiny closet etc etc. Beyond the disappointing room, every single interaction with staff was a nightmare. I was polite, not rude, screaming or yelling when I called to question the room I booked. The guest services associate I initially spoke with made it clear that if I was unhappy with the room I ;could take it up with Travel website; and promptly said goodbye. We called for room service twice and ended up having to go to the hotel bar and just order what we wanted from the bar, also terrible to deal with. I actually walked back over to the Waldorf and explained the situation to see if they had any rooms so we could move over. They did not but the associate told the manager and he offered ALL of the hotel services to us to use. We stayed away from our hotel as much as possible and if we needed anything, dinner, concierge etc. we went to the Waldorf.

Eventhough our stay was already paid for, the hotel put a $. hold on our credit card without our knowledge. When we realized, I called the front desk and was told this was a mistake. The hold should have been only $700. I was told I'd have to speak to a manager to get the hold reduced so I left a message on the manager's voice mail. I never heard from a manager or anyone else and we were there for 6 more days. There were 3 of us in the room; we had a king and a roll away; and we were left only two towels and 0 washcloths everyday. I had to call for another towel and washcloths every evening. We stayed at the hotel 7 nights. The coffee pot is a single serving maker. We were left 2 regular and 2 decafs each day. There is a sign that one coffee is free and the next you have to pay for. Since we are coffee drinkers, we didn't care for this much. We went to the restaurant next door and bought our coffee. The bathroom was very small, but we expected small so that wasn't a shock. The housekeeping staff were extremely nice. Eventhough we had to ask for our towels, etc, they were extremely nice and tried to be helpful when we did need them everyday. We are planning another trip to New York around Christmas and we will be looking for another hotel in that general area as that is very close to most things. We do not recommend staying at this hotel.

We were very pleased with our hotel. The room was very clean and nicely appointed. Beds very comfortable. The location was perfect for our plans to see the city. The concierge service is great, and the doormen out front were great at grabbing you a cab and very pleasant want welcoming. A great value . Only minor negatives are that the bathroom was tiny, and the online features for the television don't work. We had the tech guy up to the room because we were trying to use the online concierge, he said it never works. But no problem, because the "live " concierge was great. They were a little busy, but that is to be expected. One other thing...when asking for dinner reservations, which the concierge can get for you easily, ask about menu option and price. We went to a great little italian resturaunt with a beautiful garden in the theatre district, just a little surprised that the menu was a prix fix menu each. A little pricey, but very nice.

Booked for a get-away weekend. The hotel is old with small rooms but beautiful and well maintained. Thick walls eliminated any exterior noise. Comfortable bed with luxury linens. Bath supplies were high-end. Only complaint was that a check-in we were told that our request for a room with two-beds (which was one specific reason we picked this hotel) was not available. Only after I insisted that this was necessary, was a room with two-beds provided. Also prices in the restaurant/bar were extremely high.

The lobby was beautiful and the bell service was friendly. The front desk staff seemed to be a little snobby since we booked on priceline. Don't know if they treat all guests that way. It has comfortable beds, quiet rooms, and good showers. I think it would be 4 stars if it had a pool/sauna/jacuzzi on site, but it did not.

Great location, attractive public spaces, andcomfortable bed. Some problems: bathroom virtually flooded during shower (no matter how we configured the curtain); reading sconce next to bed was broken. This is a solid hotel in a great location with attractive public spaces and comfortable beds. The staff was pleasant and accommodating (allowing early check-in). I'm not sure I'd regard it as a deluxe hotel but it was perfect for our needs.

Beautiful lobby, great location, fast elevators, live guitar music some evenings. Very attractive lobby, live quiet music some evenings in restaurant/lobby area. Near the UN, so I guess diplomats stay there. Appropriately snobbish but helpful check-in staff. Fairly quick response with a TV clicker problem. Attractive room. Comfortable bed. The windows open to get some air, if desired. Over the weekend they had a bridal show, with lots of bridal and bridesmaid dresses on dress forms displayed in the lobby. Nice!

The room was adequate for three adults. The room was clean and towels were enough for each person. The bathroom was not very large but we managed. The toilet paper roll holder was broken and the staff did not attempt to fix but just replaced so it fell off again. I would definitely recommend the hotel especially for two people in the room.
