Ruth's Chris steakhouse, health club and pool. Internet wireless did not work & no place to buy coffee. Would like access to the internet via high speed (not wireless) and coffee.

Checking in to the hotel was very time consuming. Some of the check-in staff were nice, but others were not. It took an hour to get our luggage delivered to the room after we checked in. That was after we called twice. The food in the hotel was very expensive. We ate across the street. The drinks were also very expensive. The best part of the trip was the beautiful pool and the ocean. I would not stay at this hotel again because of how expensive the drinks and food were. Also, I was not overly impressed with the customer service. It was not consistent. I don't feel this hotel is a good family spot. Romantic getaway maybe, but not geared toward family.

Nice lobby, grounds, restaurants, and stores. Ana's tropical drink. Another person was given my room and walked into it 15 minutes after I was assigned the room. Would have liked a bigger bathroom. The Intercontinental was a nice place to stay. At first I didn't think that it should have qualified as a resort but after walking the grounds, eating at the steak house, and seeing all the unique items at the store I thought it was nice. Should be listed more as a higher star hotel than resort since it does not offer tennis or golf. The location was a bit tricky, since it's hard to get around the highways, but none the less close enough to the airport, which was my biggest concern. I would stay there again.

The hotel although older was completely renovated and updated. The rooms were on the smaller side as were the bathrooms. But none the less they were very clean and comfortable, you were able to hear all the noise in the hallways too. There needs to be some sort of game room for either pool, ping pong, chess, dominos, cards, video games. There also needs to be some sort of entertainment for dancing and having fun at night (besides the casino). The beach is great the umbrellas were a wonderful plus, the gym is top notch, there needs to be some snorkeling rental or beach gadget rentals. All in all its a very nice place to rest and relax.

The hotel was very nicely decorated, great location to the beach, great pool area and very friendly staff. Prices were ok, not great for drinks and food on site. Very nice sushi bar/resturant on site. Casino is a small one, nothing special but at least its there.Rooms were comfy and have all the stuff to make you feel at home. We heard the family next to us thru the walls on several occassions, but dont know if this was typical. Beach was great for people watching and very warm. Plenty of surf and para-sailing, seadoos, etc. Local area outside not the greatest but no real issue. Overall we would definately go back there first for the price!!

I needed a place to relax and forget about worries etc. This was the place to do it. The only two comments were the one of the three elevators was out of service which caused some delays the other was an all day rain during one of the days but we were able to use the time to visit Old San Juan. I'll be back!!!

The InterContinental San Juan Resort & Casino was a great place to stay. Our oceanview room had a breathtaking view and was quite spacious. The employees were all friendly and quite helpful. Most of them spoke english very well. There was a vanity area outside of the bathroom which made it easier for everyone to get ready. The pool and beach areas were beautiful. They did a good job of keeping all the areas clean. The concierge was very helpful in providing us with directions and suggestions for places to go. There was an car rental area within the hotel, which made it very easy to rent a car.

Nice area, pool area very nice, convenient to public bus stop, variety of restaurants within walking distance. Beach area was not as nice as we'd expected, but was okay. Some staff very eager to help, others not. Nice hotel with a very attractive pool area. Clean, soft beds, overall a nice place to stay. Would definitely recommend to others.

I was a little shocked to find out that a resort so close to the airport did not provide a shuttle service. After a $12 taxi ride which took 5min, we arrived at the resort and found that the staff were very friendly. Thankfully we were able to check in early with no problems. Upon check in, we mentioned that we were staying at the resort for our anniversary. We found out that the front desk staff noted this when we were surprised with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries in our room the evening of our anniversary. The location of the resort was great. There was a good mix of people and we found it to be very relaxing. Other than the casino and restaurants, there was not much nightlife at this resort. If you are looking for entertainment the El San Juan Resort next door would be the better choice.

Tropical paradise, fabulous pool, great beach access. Wish it had been a little closer to Old San Juan. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and gave us a great rec. for dinner in Old San Juan. The pool area is fantastic and beach access is wonderful. A true tropical paradise

We stayed at the Intercontinetal over the July 4th holiday. The first day was very nice, because it wasn't crowded. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous. Just past the pool is a beautiful, sandy beach. Food and drinks are very expensive at the hotel. However, I would recommend the Italian restaurant inside the hotel. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is very pleasing. Drinks at the pool are $6 to $8. Plan on spending some money if you are going to hang out by the pool. We spent $34 on one beer, one frozen beverage and a quesadilla. By the way, they automatically add a 15% gratuity to everything you purchase at the hotel. We tried a local restaurant across the street from the hotel. The food was outstanding and the prices were a little more reasonable.

Room was clean, lobby attractive. Pool area did not live up to expectations, wait staff at pool ignored us & never asked if we would like to order drinks. Pool water temperature was too cold. Early check-in was not available, which wasn't a problem. Upgrade to ocean view room was not available, also okay. Had trouble twice with the room keys not unlocking the door. Had to have security come up & let us in & re-program the lock. Inconvenient for 20 minutes but no offer from hotel staff to make up for this.

Great hotel, exactly what we were looking for in a beach resort. Beautiful beach, pool and pool bars, and good service. The only complaint we had was that our room wasn't as clean as we would expect from a 4-star, but I hear that is common in Puerto Rico. Keep in mind that if you are looking for something super chic, the El San Juan might be better for you...that is a beautiful, sleek and modern hotel. However, it didn't feel much like a beach resort...for example...they require formal attire after 8PM.

What a great hotel and experience. The whole experience started off with magnificient service from the Front Desk and Concierge. Food is excellent, but as expected with hotels the drinks can be a little pricey. If staying here the upgrade to ocean-facing rooms is worthwhile. The hotel has a great evening entertainment with live bands and a casino. The surrounding area also has some great restaurants but go in the direction towards the ESJ Hotel as the other way can be a bit seedy.

The ambiance, resort feel, and outdoor gardens/pool. The rate is high. Wonderful hotel from its island living feel to its accommodating staff. The restaurant was delicious, the pool was inviting, and the architecture was exquisite. Being right on the ocean made for a memorable experience. The complimentary internet was a nice value. Our stay here was wonderful and we would not change a thing!

Location to airport and cruise terminal. The food was horrible. The hotel is decent, but nothing glamorous. It was close to the airport and to the cruise terminal, just about ten minutes. The beach was decent. The water was nice. It was a Caribbean looking beach with blue water and white sand, just a pacific looking beach. For a quick stop over it was perfect. You felt safe, the resort was quiet and the drinks were good.

This is a beautiful hotel on a gorgeous beach, convenient to airport, shops, and a short ride to Old San Juan. Food and drinks (yummy mojitos) are pricey but we stocked our mini fridge with snacks and drinks from the grocery just two blocks away and took them to the pool. The front desk staff was somewhat indifferent but everyone else was quite attentive. Really good restaurant service everywhere we went. Room and public areas very clean as well as the pool. We rented a car at the El San Juan (two minute walk) and drove to Old San Juan and El Yunque. This was our first trip to PR but would love to go back to see more of this beautiful island.

Having two restaurants available at the pool/beach was really great-most places only have one. We ate lunch at both and they were both excellent. One has views of the pool, the other is right on the beach so you can watch the waves. The spagetti carbonara at Alfredo's is not to be missed, and they welcomed us with a bit of champagne and ended the meal with a complimentary Limencello. We had a late flight home and they provided us with a full hotel room, with towels, toiletries, and even a coffeemaker for a half hour at no charge. It is called the "hospitality room" and I have never had that at other hotels ( usually you just get a locker and locker room facilities). The morning water aerobics, yoga, and dance classes were great. The casino was fun and had five dollar craps and twenty-one. The only down side was that Starbucks is in the lobby of the hotel next door instead of this lobby, and that the fitness center ( which was very nice, overlooking the ocean) did not have headphones available.

I didn't know what to expect just by looking at beautiful pictures of this resort on line. But from the minute I got of the cab it was nothing but friendliness & Smileing faces. The hospitality was Amazeing. As for the staff they couldn't have been anymore professional then what they already were. You do Not have to worry about anything once your their its like a home away from home. Even our dinner reservations were made for us at area restaurants. The pool was beautiful & clean. As long as I can afford it I wouldn't think twice of stayin at the Intercontinental again.

Very comfortable bedding, great room safe, good Internet connection, nice towels. Could have been more spacious. The In Continental was a lovely, older hotel. While it is indicated to be in a tourist area - there seemed to be a lot of police activity. Blue lights were going constantly on the streets leaving us with an uneasy feeling for walking about. We had a lovely dinner at a great restaurant up the street. Staff was very friendly and helpful, pool and beach was great, nice to have casino on premises.

the intercontinental hotel was a great stay for both me and my boyfriend. the staff was execellent the amenities available at the hotel were great. the food at the hotel was quite pricy and not great. we ate at alfredos and we did not enojoy the food there at all speacially for the prices they have. we did enjoy very very much the food at the japanese place the food was good but like i said very pricy expect to spend at least $70.00 for 2 people. lastly on our first day we ate by the pool on the grill. i have to say i was very very shocked at the price quite ridiculous. we both had a burger each with fries and 2 sodas.. our bill came out to $54.00. i think this was very expensive for just burgers!!! other than that the hotel itself has great friendly staff-- very quite and family oriented. you do not get many outside people like you would in other hotels. the casino was great. the hotel has 24 cab service!! minutes away from everything!! the rooms were super clean!!! i cannot stress enough how friendly and helpful the staff at this hotel is!!-- the pool area is vert nice. this hotel is exactly what we expected and for the price we paid i think it was all we expected!!! i would recomend this to anyone and i would defnently stay here again. i have stayed at alot of hotels in puerto rico and by far this is the best!!!

This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of San Juan! The beach and pool are simply amazing! The service was great and the staff is very friendly and willing to help. We had an ocean front room on the 15th floor; the view was too beautiful for words. The rooms are very attractive and the beds are some of the most comfortable that I have ever slept on! Room service prices are reasonable; however, food prices elsewhere at the hotel are grossly overpriced. The breakfast buffet is $22.00 per person and was so-so. My husband ordered waffles and received one waffle for $13.00, no sides! There are many options in old San Juan. We ate at La Bombonera for breakfast one morning and it was great and very reasonably priced. I will definatly stay again. We hope to take our kids back on spring break next year; the beach is awesome and perfect for the kids to play - very clean!
