This is one of the old-style Key West hotels. It is in several big white Victorian-ers houses with verandas on every floor. The inner courtyard is a lush tropical jungle of trees and flowering vegetation. The pool is small but set amidst this tropical splendor. Our room was spacious and complete with a fully-equipped kitchenette plus a large veranda and swing overlooking a palm tree shaded street. It is just a few blocks from Duval street, the harbor basin and Sunset Plaza. It is truly a secret bargain hotel in Key West.

The rooms, grounds and facility was nothing short of beautiful! We were so pleased with everything from the furnishings to the service and secluded quiet location but yet it was easy to walk to Duval Street. Absolutely Wonderful! We look forward to make it a habit to stay at the Island City House every year when we go to Key West.

I loved the Island City House - the buildings were charming, the staff was friendly and helpful, loved all the cats, and my room was lovely and very clean. The courtyard was the perfect place for a quiet breakfast next to the fountain, and the glider swing on the porch was a nice touch. It's close to the fun in Old Town, but in a quiet neighborhood. I would stay here again.

Have been staying at the Island City House for years, every time we visit Key West. The grounds are tranquil, the rooms and pool are beautiful, and staff is always laid back and friendly! The breakfast is not a big spread, but is adequate. Check out the children's book sold in the lobby about the cats at Island City House!
