Checked in at LA QUINTA INN on 17 West 32nd Street in New York. Funny how their advertisement said "apple core provides clean hotels." The room I stayed in was hardly CLEAN! It was a nightmare. The front desk people were very rude. I was supposed to stay for 3 days but moved out after the very next day. I wanted to move out on the first 30 minutes after seeing my VERY DIRTY room. The carpet had hair on it and the wallpaper was peeling. I called the frontdesk and she told me that the Housekeeping Manager already checked out the room before we checked in. I had to call several times before they send somebody upstairs. I will never ever come back to a hotel named LA QUINTA. I hope this review will warn others who might make the same mistake as I did. I just thought their website looked nice and the place looked good but I was wrong. Also, upon checking in at the desk I asked the girl there if I could check with my father in law bec. it might have been prepaid already. He did that in our hotel at Washington DC. And the front desk girl at LA QUINTA NY snapped at me saying "that's what's wrong with booking online". I was shocked bec. it was like she didn't even want my business. Will write reviews about this hotel and the horror I experienced in it. I asked for the General Manager while I was in the hotel and the girl at the front desk told me there is no General Manager. NEVER AGAIN!

If your thing is getting super small rooms for an overpriced stay then this hotel is for you. I was shocked to see the room for a night? I expected better. The walls were like a few inches away from the bed! There was no room to put your luggage anywhere. You can forget about walking around. You step into the room, a few steps and the bed is right there. A few steps and the bathroom is right there. Not to mention the rooms were DINGY. The receptionist was also VERY VERY RUDE. Piece of advise, make your vacation good by NOT CHECKING IN THIS HOTEL. I made my mistake don't do it to yourself. Much worse, they will not allow you to move out even after a few minutes of seeing the hotel room. They insisted I stay overnight. Will never come back to this hotel.

Walking distance to Union Station. Many places to eat and shop nearby. Near Manhattan Mall, Madison Square Garden, Macy's. It's located in "Korea Town" so a lot of Korean Rest. near by. We stayed two nights. Had a room with a king sized bed. The rooms were pretty small. However I just put our luggage in the closet and the other on the luggage rack to keep out of the way. Bathroom small. The hotel was clean. We didn't have a problem with any of the staff being rude. Good selection of fitness equipment in the fitness area. Also have a room with three computers and a printer for guest use. Was able to use to look up the train schedules. The only thing that I would say anything bad about this hotel was that it stormed one of the nights we were there and the cable kept going out (Direct TV).

Room: I had a room with a queen-size bed. The room was about 5 x 5 meters, which I consider the minimum. I come from Europe where hotel-rooms are often smaller. If this is the minimum for me, then I expect it to be too small for most Americans. The bathroom was 3 x 1.5 meters, which I found too small. The room had one window only and it was situated in a corner of the room. This made the room dark and I find dark rooms unpleasant. I always had to have a lamp on. Reception : When I checked in the receptionist was unfriendly. Even though I had paid the total bill for my entire stay of 6 nights in cash at arrival, the receptionist still wouldn't accept an international driver's license as an ID, although it met all the requirements he mentioned. While at reception (!) he actually made me go through my luggage to find my passport, even though I had told him several times that I didn't know where I had put it. Although I travel a lot, this had never ever been an issue before (not even in the La Quintain in Los Angeles). He even had the guts to say that he wasn't obliged to let me into the hotel if I didn't show a passport. When I had half of my suitcase unpacked (in order to search for my passport), he complained about the contents of my suitcase being displayed in public, while it was him in the first place who had demanded me to do so. To be frank, I think that this man should find another job. Housekeeping : The personnell that cleaned my room were clearly different. They were nice and helpful. My compliments to them.

the hotel would nt take responsibility for their mistake on reservation made online thru partnership with aa.com hotel reservation..3 adults slept in a 1 queen bed room because the hotel claims did nt receive the change made thru online website changing to 2 queensize beds and would nt honor anything..both agents talk back and forth but we, the consumer received any resolution for this matter. would not recommend this hotel or chain to anyone
