Las Hadas is a sprawling resort on the hill side of Manzanillo. The moorish inspired architecture definitely stands out from the rest of the resorts on the hill. The pool is lovely with two islands in the center where a very popular gecko is much photographed. If you're so inclined, you can swim up to the bar at pool side. The beach is lovely!! There is a small marina and a few sailboats are anchored in the bay. The buffet breakfast is a little steep at $17.00 per person, but you can take a short walk to the next resort over (The Dolphin Inn) and enjoy a full breakfast for ~$6.00 with an amazing view of the bay and beach below. If you're not in a rush, you can take a bus ride to almost anywhere for 5 pesos (50 cents). When taking a taxi, be sure to ask your taxi driver what it will cost to get to your destination BEFORE you get in the taxi as prices can vary greatly. The staff at Las Hadas is extremely curteous and helpful. The water pressure is generally good, but did get down to a trickle twice during my 5 day stay but only for a couple of minutes. The worst thing about Las Hadas are the extremely firm beds; not lumpy, just very firm. If your pillows are flat/hard as well, you can ask for fluffier pillows from the front desk and they will promptly deliver 3 or 4 much nicer pillows. The flowers in the room add a decorative touch to the all white decor. It appears to be a very family friendly place during the high season as the place started to fill up the weekend before Easter. I would definitely stay there again!!

"The Hotel was great. There's free scuba rentals, and jet skis.In the afternoon they had beautiful candle light buffets for all the guests, and live music. There's also an area for kids, with live music, puppet shows and plays. The set back is that it is all in Spanish, but then again, I was outside the U.S. so I wasn't expecting to hear much English. This is a nice place, and I plan on comming back for my Fiance's birthday!"

On our first trip to Manzanillo we were fortunate to have chosen Las Hadas as our hotel. The road to the hotel out the pennisula is cobble stone and windy but upon arrival is well worth the trip. The rooms, and grounds are clean and well maintained. The rather small but adequate beach is in a protected bay for a safe, refreshing dip and swim. The on sight restaurants do not provide much of a selection and service was not great but a fixed price taxi ride can take you restaurants like La Toscana or Portofino which are worth the extra expense of the taxi. Try the shrimp and lobster spaghetti at La Tosana; excellent! We deinately would return to Las Hadas

Stunning views, very classy hotel, very elegant. I would definitely go back. The beach is secluded and private, it has its own marina.

Beautiful resort type hotel. Very large grounds - lots of stairs as it is on a cliff. Beach front property with most of the hotel cut into a very large cliff. Difficult to negotiate your way there - lots of winding cobble stone streets of the main road. Has a marina, but we did not go there. Has the most beautiful swimming pool I have ever seen. If you want to hang out at a pool for a week, this is the place to be. Water is warm in the pool and the Pacific in July. Very humid as it is on the coast. Good amount of wind and lots of sun when it is not raining. This is the rainy season. The biggest turn off was that EVERYTHNG costs extra. You have a coffee maker in your room, but you have to purchase the coffee! Room service available, but expensive. Two restaurants and a snack bar on premisis - we did not check the pricing, but judging by the prices of the items in the mini-bar/fridge and room service, I would expect it is expensive too. The pillows were lumpy and the bed was hard. The room is wall to wall marble. Everything is white. Bathroom is small but well appointed. Large glass enclosed shower. Good water pressure. We were told by a local business person who goes to Manzanillo once a month that there are better hotels at a lower cost. We picked this hotel for the last night of our week long trip to Mexico because it was on the beach and close to the airport, as we wanted to be nearby for our flight out the next morning.

First, I want to say: "DON"T LISTEN TO THE NAYSAYERS." I have been going to Las Hadas since I was 12, and it has changed little since then. Manzanillo is not a commercial place like Puerta Vallarta or Cancun. If you are looking for KFC or McDonald's, you shouldn't come here. Manzanillo is a beautiful fishing villiage full of ocean and mountain views. Las Hadas itself is absolutely breathtaking-if you take the time to explore it, you will see all of the beauty; not just the beauty by the pool and in your room. The restaurants on site are not gourmet, and not the best choice if you want to experience real Mexico. Do your homework before you go.... there are many beautiful resturants with excellent local cuisine that are right on the Ocean. You just have to ask around. L'Recif sits high on a mountain peak overlooking the Pacific Ocean! How much more romance can you get?!? Those who have reviewed negitively must be used to a more "cheesy" vacation full of watered-down drinks and buffet food disgised as actual menu items. Go to Las Hadas. Experience the romance and cuisine as it should be experienced. You won't be disappointed!

We really enjoyed Las Hadas. The staff is great, from the front desk, the concierge, bell hops, wait staff and cleaning personnel. We had a Brisas Club room, which was very large, with great view of the pool and the ocean, with the city lights across the bay. Bathrooms were great, with excellent shower. Enjoyed the restuarants, as well as the pool and beach service. Grounds are beautiful, and very well maintained. I would highly recommend the Las Hadas resort. It is true, there is some walking, but the grounds are beautiful, and if you wish, they will take you on a golf cart to wherever you want to go. The only drawback would be that you have to take a cab everywhere outside the hotel area, as the hotel is on the peninsula, with very steep roads, so difficult to leave without transportation. The cabs are always available, and inexpensive, so it was no problem for us. Downtown Manzanillo is a working port, so there is really not much to see. The areas closer to the hotel (Santiago) have shops, etc. There are many good restaurants, several of which were recommended by the staff, who even called, and we ended up with excellent tables. The vacation was excellent, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Excellent getaway. Spacious rooms (Brisas Club) great ocean view. Breakfast, valet parking and free tennis where included so price was a good deal. It felt like a private club rather than a hotel. We'll go back
