Lebua was a first choice for my friends and I as we wanted to begin our boys' holiday in five star 'big willie style'! Well this was certainly fulfilled. On arrival the staff were friendly, smiley and incredibly efficient. We were shown to our rooms which were very clean, spacious, comfortable and had amazing views over the city. One annoying thing was that access to the rooms' balcony was restricted because due to hotel or government rules. That didn't matter too much because we planned to have a drink at the 64th floor (this is the picture from the website with the circular bar) and slowly take in the 'Blade Runner-style' views. I managed to get a table at the French fine dining Sirocco restaurant (with no booking) and ordered dishes like Veal, Aussie Lamb, Beef and Scallops all cooked and presented perfectly. The wine list was comprehensive with all the usual suspects but was very expensive due to heavy government taxing which hit our wallets hard. However we found a decent Californian Merlot which matched up nicely with the food, suggested by the informative yet 'old-school' and somewhat regressive wine waiter. Regardless we had great meal in phenomenal surroundings and an all round fantastic time! Highly recommended! The cost? Cocktails, a two-course meal, water and a bottle of wine for four people worked out to about £55-60 a head.Other pluses were the swimming pool (which much to our drunken amusement opened at 6am rather than staying open until 6am), room service (good club sandwiches) and the wide breakfast selection from full English to Miso soup and noodles! Oh yeah, watch out for the cordial they label as 'fresh juice'. Mmm so sweet...

i stayed there for 4 nights and the services I got from the doorstep of the hotel to my room was excellant. The staff was very helpful and warm service. With the price I am paying, it worth it all. I will definately come back to stay at this hotel again.

I have never stayed in a 5 star hotel before and I can now say, I wish I had the money to stay in them all the time, granted they all are as nice as Lebua. My mother and I travelled to Bangkok, Thailand for vacation and were a little apprehensive. Neither of us had been on vacation overseas before. The staff at Lebua were EXTREMELY nice and helpful. They made sure we knew where we were going and what to watch out for. They insisted on writing down the directions for cabbies in Thai so that we wouldn't get lost and always offered to call us taxis (we usually just hailed one ourselves). Always greeted with a huge smile and a wai, we felt welcomed and valued. I was lucky enough to be at Lebua for my birthday and was extremely surprised when room service brought me a slice of the most exquisite chocolate mousse cake. It was more than a cake though, it was a piece of art. It looked like a wrapped present, with lotus petals strewn on the plate, candles with a little package of matches and a note signed by the hotel manager. All this because my mother wanted to embarass me by telling everyone she saw that day that it was my birthday. The room itself was outrageoulsy clean and spacious and the balcony overlooked the city and river. Air-con worked perfect (thank God!) and the mini-bar was always stocked. Tub in the bathroom was designed for soaking and the living room area was quiet and comfortable. I can't say enough about this fantastic hotel. If I ever go back to Bangkok, I will be booking at Lebua.

Top NotchThe hotel room was fantastic with an amazing view from the balcony. The only thing that let down the hotel was not having some outside furniture for the balcony area. The swimming pool area was fantastic! We went to Sorrico for dinner and it was simply amazing!

A bit expensive, but worth it. Very luxurious suite. Rooms are large and include a kitchen. Buffet was great - lots of choices and various cuisines. Bathroom was pretty and Bvlgari toiletries were a pleasant surprise.

If you really want to traet yourselves to something special, book a suite (they only have suites) at the LEBUA AT STATE TOWER. My wife and I stayed there in September for a few days on our way back from Hua Hin. We had a great suite on the 58th floor with super-views on the river. The suites are big and spacious and offer every comfort you might ask for. The staff is really helpful and kind (something we miss at times in Germany). The check-in is performed not in the lobby but in your suite by a very kind hostress. The luggage came up fast and the bellman was very helpful. They also have some of the best restaurants I have ever seen. They are mostly outside on terraces and offer a great variety of foods (try Breeze -it's a must!!!!). Hope, my review helps others to make an educated decision.

I stayed here during the Chinese Golden Week/National Day holidays. First impressions: Staff polite and helpful (to a degree, information provided when pushed for details). Room: Decent. Very Comfortable bed. Towels: Greyish and worn. Disappointed not to have been upgraded to a better suite, given that we were there 7 days. Room attendants had to be pushed to replace full set of toileteries. If half used would not replace, or would forget some items. mid-week we were not in our room for two nights (girlfriend at Hospital for elective surgery). When we returned home she discovered an expensive bottle of face cream missing/stolen. Another bottle had had water filled to make it look like it was the original amount. Disappointing, as I had initially rather liked this hotel. Food at Ocean 52 standard Chinese fare lavishly presented - but extremely small portions at outrageous prices. Sky Bar was lovely, but staff rather rude. Nighttime there is nothing to see, do, eat in the local area near the hotel. had to snack from the supermarket or order room service. Bellhops very helpful/efficient. xxx was extremely kind and efficient. Hard to say if I would return again.

I have experienced hotels across the world but have yet to stay at a hotel that provides impeccable service across departments. The staff is anticipatory to every need and they provide service with a smile. The restaurants are an example of classy dining and the food is divine. I will only stay at Lebua on all my future trips to Bangkok and I highly recommend this hotel. Truly amazing.

I have just completed my stay at Lebua and cannot help but post a review, for there is so much new I saw at this place. Apart from the excellent service and gourmet cuisine (all of us know Sirocco, Mezzaluna, Skybar by now..) there was this bit of giving back to the society that was so prevalent in the organization.I witnessed one of the most fantastic events here called Emotional Tourism. Inspite of misquotes by the press, I must say this was an wonderful initiative. Few guests of the hotel, mostly bankers, hospital owners, industrialists and businessmen were flown to northern thialand to experience a poverty stricken village which they were committed to uplift. The effort was so sincere, that even snacks were not served to the high profile guests during theri stay at the village. This was followed by a rich dinner at the hotel and really served as an eye-opener to the privileged class. With this initiative, lebua has managed to set up a huge fund to help change the village forever. Also, the guests have used their experience to lay down ideas to make the village self-sufficient thus precluding direct donation. However, all through it was made clear that the guests can contribute through any channel, not necessarily the hotel. This iniative is one of a kind and touched me deeply. Hotels can offer best stay and cuisine, but to help the underprivileged so earnestly is a novel initiative that others should emulate. I am proud to be associated with lebua and will definitely return.

Spent three nights on business in Bangkok and a good friend and colleague recommended the Lebua. He was so right. I got a great spacious suite with views on the Chao Phraya River. Usually, I cannot sleep well in hotels, but the mattrasses are so good and the bedding is so comfortable that I slept each night like a baby. The staff is extra friendly but does not crowd you too much. The check-in and -out process was very swift and the bill was correct. By the way, the value you get for your money is unmached by all the other hotels - in my opinion.

2nd stay in 2 months here. The impression is the private hotel entrance that give a sense of security. Th rooms are generously big with apartment concept. A godo surprise to see the hotel using Bvlgari bath n lotion! The best thing about the room is the bed! super comfort, matching that of Westin's Heavenly Bed. services are very efficient and discreet, rare in Bangkok. Fantastic food in Breeze, though the price is on the high side, paying for the superb view i presume. The only complaints will be the long wait for elevators (because it is sharing access with the Sky bar) and the forced fit of over sized furnitures in the room. They could have tailored a smaller work desk in the living area instead of jam a long tabe besidd the bed. Made moving around the bedroom difficult. Overall, a great alternative to international chain and normal hotel rooms!

I booked a 2 bedroom suite for my family to stay and found the service and cleanliness second to none. The room was spacious with spectacular views and good amenities. What I liked most was the attention to detail in maintaining the rooms, chocolates and toiletries refreshed daily and the rooms kept spotless. For a large hotel the staff where very friendly and helpful. The restuarants in the Dome- though expensive for regular dining, where are real treat for a drink and a special occasion. The breakfast was excellent and as a family we enjoyed very much the BBQ and buffet dinner they offered, possibly the freshest selection on a buffet I have ever seen. In all we could not fault our stay of one week.

For the price the room is good as it is nothing to be impressed by. The location, the furniture's and the lay-out make it quite obvious that this place was not built as a 5-star hotel, but a serviced apartments. Our suite was adequate, but the balcony is pathetic with 2 air-conditioner systems, nothing like the brochure has you to believed. Breakfast room is make shift of whatever it was meant to be and the pool is in a wrong location for sun-seekers. Why not pay a bit more and move to a suite in Shangri-la. Enough said, however, the sky bar, its services, and the Bvlgari amenities saved the day(s).
