be aware that a very noisy nightclub is next door and at 1.30am in the morning noisy people are out on the street shouting and screaming at each other.

Reasonable Budget Hotel, Not a Palace but what do you expect for 69 euro a night, Room was serviced every day and 2 extra pillows where provided when requested. If your room is on the third floor (as ours was) there are 6 fights of stairs and no lift. A little help with the luggage would have been appreciated. Close to St Stephens Green and Merrion Square. If you are looking for good food and drink head up Pembroke Street find Foyle's Bar on Baggot Street for some really good food, Seafood is really good. Then find Merrion Square and the marvelous of Oscar Wild. Not the best hotel in Dublin but Cheap, Value for Money and fairly central.

The hotel does not live up to itsmarketing info as posted on the internet . The rooms were poky, the curtain wass hanging off its rail, the bathroom lino was old and yellowing, chipped and broken tiles. No ironing board or iron available, no modem points - as advertised. TV can get about 3 channels clearly. The breakfast was poor quality with dirty and sticky crockery. The carpert on stairs was worn posing a health & safety risk and fire exits were blocked with laundry.Worst of all the hotel has a night club/party venue next door which uses its back yard as an overspill/smoking area. We were kept awake until 4 in the morning by party goers right under our window and there was overspill into the front street with broken bottles etc being left behind. The hotel receptionist said that they had an ongoing problem with this, so obviously having no success with trying to stop the noise nuisance. There is no manager on duty, so although probelms raised no-one in charge who could actually deal with out complaints at the time.

The Leeson Hotel is clearly undergoing extensive renovation as witnessed by the fact that there were ladders in the hallways throughout our time there, and the blind in our room was changed for curtains actually during our two-night stay! The main attraction for the hotel must be its location, which is within walking distance of all sights in the city. Having said this, finding the place by car at night with Dublin's complicated one-way system is quite difficult and verbal directions would have been useful. In this context, it would perhaps also be worthwhile mentioning that visitors would be well advised not to bring cars - since free parking at the hotel is extremely limited (three small Mini-sized spaces in the rear yard) - and while there is parking in the street -- the meters are expensive and begin at seven o'clock in the morning! In terms of our room - this was cramped, with two beds squeezed into the available space and no wardrobe/cupboard. Having said this, the beds were new, the bedclothes spotless and the bathroom perfectly serviceable. (If I were to try to describe it, it would be a bit like camping in a friend's spare bedroom, while he was redecorating the house.)However, leaving aside the unfinished nature of the facility, if I were to highlight any significant inadequacy, it would relate to the staff. These tended to be young female students from overseas, who while pleasant enough, had no idea how to meet/greet guests or to look after their needs. The girls on reception appeared generally disinterested and unable to give additional information to people strange to the city. They were also dressed extremely casually, in jeans etc which added to the sense that they were just drafted in to \"help out\".By contrast, the owner -- who came out to move cars -- was affable. Otherwise, I'm afraid that we came away with the impression that staff members did not really care whether we were there or not.I hope this does not sound too negative -- it is meant to be
