The Leopold opened in June 2007 and is Sheffields first boutique hotel. No expense has been spared and this historic property offers a sophisticated setting, accompanied by good food with impeccable service - it's smart and sophisticated, yet fun and just that little bit quirky. (GW 09/2008) The hotel is built on the former site of a Grade II listed Boys Grammar School. Whilst retaining 19th century elegance and architectural detail, it seamlessly integrates contemporary design. Sheffield's new revitalized Leopold Square sits within the city centre's latest retail quarter and skillfully combines historic buildings with contemporary stores, stylish bars and a choice of many restaurants, creating a highly convivial social space. The squares piece de resistance is the Leopold Hotel.

The hotel is ideally situated in the centre of sheffield. There is a free bus from the railway station which drops off round the corner or it only takes 5 mins to walk if you know the way. It is convenient for shops, bars, night clubs, restaurants, buses and trams to Meadowhall. I would definately stay again. The staff were very helpful & you could leave your bags both before check-in and after check-out, which is a big help.

General overviewThis hotel is in an excellent location and is a superb building. The staff were exceptionally friendly and the accommodation, spotlessly clean. Only downside is the bar area which looks very clinical and doesn't sell draught ale.

We took advantage of the Leopoldâ€™s promotional rate and stayed in a double room for £45 plus two full breakfasts at £15 which equated to a total spend of £75. Worth every penny! The staff were excellent, the rooms was spotlessly clean and immaculately presented, beds very comfortable and a shower powerful enough to blow the bits off o a brass monkey. OK â€“ there is no parking on site, but you can unload your car at the front of the hotel you get discounted parking about 5 minute walk away. If I had to gripe about anything, I was slightly disappointed with the quality of the evening mean â€“ breakfast was absolutely fine though. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

the original executive room heating was not working , so the hotel upgraded us to a suite at no extra cost , this was great.also the extras were well appreciated , fruit, water dressing gowns and slippers. the hotel is central well placed and the staff very friendly and helpful.i would love to stay again sometime.

wedding weekendWe had a great weekend at the Leopold Hotel, all staff were very helpful and friendly and attentive during the wedding of my son. Thank you all concerned.
