Lindeth Howe is a beautiful country house hotel/originally built in 1879. Beatrix Potter once owned the house/ and here she wrote and illustrated several of her world-renowned childrens stories/in particular Timmy Tiptoes in 1911 and Pigling Bland in 1913. Lindeth Howe is set in 6 acres of beautiful gardens and has magnificent views over Lake Windermere. The bedrooms at Lindeth Howe are superior first class in quality all rooms have ensuite facilities/ colour TV with satellite tea and coffee welcome trays/ hair dryer and baby listening facility. The rooms are beautifully appointed each with its own traditional style. The superior rooms are more spacious and have a trouser press bathrobes luxury toiletries and an enhanced welcome tray. Over 80 percent of rooms are non-smoking, including all of the superior rooms. On the ground floor are 3 attractive and spacious rooms for disabled guests/ with easy/ level access to the lounges/bar/restaurant and leisure areas. Then restaurant has an air of elegance and an excellent reputation. Guests can enjoy a candlelit dinner in an intimate atmosphere. The 5-course dinner menu includes vegetarian options and changes daily. It is non-smoking and the dress code in the evening is 'smart casual'. During the day/ morning coffee/ light lunches and afternoon tea are served in the relaxing lounges and bar. Especially for children/ a high tea is served in the early evening/guests are welcome to relax in the Beatrix Potter Library/ the Hill Top Lounge or enjoy the well-stocked bar.
