The recent renovations have been carried out to ensure that the guests live the magic atmosphere of Venice, not only as tourists, but as an integral part of this unique and incredible city. You will fell Venetians! Depending of the length of your stay, many different itineraries are ready which will permit you to discover the hidden places usually not frequented by the tourists, (but not for this reason less fascinating than the usual tourist sight ). All the staff have wide experience in hotel business and speak English, German, French and Spanish and will guarantee you an unforgettable holiday. The word armizo in the old Venetian language, means mooring. The hotel is in fact, in campo San Silvestro, one of the most beautiful and characteristic piazzas of Venice, only two minutes from the Rialto Bridge and only a few steps away from the Gran Canal, where in ancient times ships used to moor in order to unload their merchandise from all over the world for selling at the Rialto Market. I was booked into this hotel (the reason I picked it was because it stated they have twin bedded rooms which is a rare thing in Venice) I also booked it because it was easy to find. I followed the virtual tour which was very good. However the day before we were due to leave, I e-mailed the hotel to check they had a twin bedded room for me. They informed me that the bathrooms were out of order, and they were moving us to a sister hotel just a couple of min away. And to go on to there web site to check directions, as you can imagine I was not best pleased as I had checked this hotel out. On looking at the other web page it was not very clear how to get there, because I was at work and had a number of other things to carry out before we left the UK I made a decision we would go the the original hotel and get them to take us. We arrived cold hungry and very tired at 10.00 at night. The person who answer the bell was quite curt and impolite. I tried to explain the change of booking but he told me to be quiet. Twice I tried to tell him and both time he either told me to hush or calm down. As you can imagine I was getting quite irrate at this. My son then told the man he was being rude and that I was only trying to explain what had happened, he was told to shut up. So I decided I would he then said I had an e-mail whichI just replied yes. I think then he realised that we were at an impasse. I explained to the man we needed to go to this other hotel and yes he took us. When we arrived I explained I was very cold and placed my hand on his I think then he realised how cold I was and his manner changed quite quickly. The other hotel was really clean and modern in reception and I only saw the Locanda reception which looked very tired.The food thing is our hotel San Polo 1858, Campo San Cassiano Venice, Veneto, Italy Was fantastic the rooms were very moderna nad clean the staff were very pleasant and I would recommend this to anyone. We did however only pay the price of the Loc
