It is not the place it used to be. Dirty, rooms need redone. Stains on walls, rust stains in bathroom, shower worked part-time, drain plug in sink didn't work. It's time for a remodel.

my husband, our two girls (8 & 6) and i were in one room, in the other was my parents. the hotel is nice but the halls and rooms are pretty dated. the air conditioners in the rooms were not that good, other than that our room was clean, my parents on the other hand was not. there room was right next door. the shower had flooded and the water slowly went down the drain but all this black dirt stayed in the shower. that night the front desk clerk said they would send someone out to clean it however no one came. the next day the shower was not cleaned either. luckly our rooms were side by side and my parents had to shower in our room. it took two days to get the shower fixed and cleaned. there was no compensation or accomidations for my parents, even though i had showed them pictures of the mess on my phone. because of this problem we will not be returning to luxor to stay.

This was a Christmas present for my wife. We had been talking about going to Vegas for a while now. It was our first time and we took our 4 and 2 year old daughters as well as their grandma. We arrived into the hotel and headed to the Tower check in. We had reserved two rooms with the third night for free. We ended up staying three nights from Sunday to Wednesday. The front desk clerk was not specially friendly although upon check in, we were told we were being upgraded for free. It wasn't until my 4 year old approached the desk that he seemed to turn nice and started a conversation with her. The walk to the rooms was very long but we were expecting that since we had read about it. With the "upgrade" I was expecting rooms larger than we got. I think the upgrade was just the fact that we got a tub and shower in the same room. Overall, the room was comfortable and clean which is what most mattered to me. I felt it was a good choice considering what it cost. Of course, with little effort, I thought the service I got could have been better. What ever happen to "delighting" the customer? The casino was fun and my wife particularly enjoyed the hotel's breakfast buffet although a little pricey. Overall, it was a fun trip. I would definitely come back to this hotel for this price.

The hotel was very nice. The only complaint I had is that the sink in the bathroom did not work. I thought that the Luxor had a good atmosphere. I also thought that the architecture was really unique.

The Luxor was exactly what we needed as our 1st extended get-away since our 3 year old was born. Located right on the Las Vegas strip, we were able to walk all around, though taxis were quickly available to shuttle us to out of the way places. The 24/7 atmosphere was wonderful and the staff very attentive. Kingsize bed in our room was firm and comfortable, bathroom-shower large enough for two, and the maid service great. Pool side at the Luxor was super - wait staff constantly coming by with a Cool drink and enough lounges for everyone. We'll return to this hotel as soon as we can convice Grandma to take our little ones again !

We are a family that travels on a budget, so for the price of its spacious rooms, Luxor was hard to beat! We were awed by the amazing architecture of the hotel and loved the $35 all day all-you-can-eat buffet offer. We received excellent restaurant service -- fast and friendly servers and the food was pretty good. The Titanic exhibit, albeit a little pricey, was very moving. We felt like actual passengers on the ship! The casino offered a variety of slot machines and the smoke wasn't too stifling as it usually is. However, there were also things we didn't like about our stay at Luxor. We self-parked on the second level (not nearly as many spaces available as other hotels), and check-in was quite a hike from there. My dad is a senior citizen (Father's Day weekend) and we had some luggage with us. The front desk staff wasn't warm or particularly friendly at check-in. One of the elevators wasn't working as we tried to get to our room (and didn't work all weekend long), so there was often a wait. The worst part of our stay was when the hotel's fire alarm went off at 3 A.M. in the morning on Sunday and continued to go off for another 15-20 minutes! What a rude awakening! No one seemed to care and I tried calling the front desk to no avail. That was particularly unnerving -- not to have staff there to inform us of what was going on or to reassure us that we were safe to go back to sleep. I hope this is a rare occurrence, both the fire alarm and the non-communicative, nonchalant staff. This was unfortunately our last impression of the hotel when we checked out.

The Luxor Hotel, When registering, the teller discovered that they did not have a room available that was smoke free. As a result the management gave us an upgrade at no extra cost to us. The upgrade was to a Suite which consisted of two rooms, two tv's, a refrigerator and of all things a Jacuzzy. We consider this the epitomy of good management. Of course the suite was not smoke free - however it was properly fumigated and as a result there was no odor at all. Considering the fact that I am a reformed smoker for the past thirty some odd years, everything was fine.

For location, amenities, and price, the Luxor is hard to beat. The rooms in the pyramid are an odd shape, but had amazing views. The staff were very helpful and their buffet was one of the better deals on the strip. The tram gets you up and down from the MGM to the Mandalay quickly and free, the Deuce will get you everwhere else for $3. The Luxor is looking a bit old already, but as far as mid-tier strip casino-hotel, it's great.

This was my second visit to the Luxor and I was very satisfied both times. The hotel staff was efficient, knowledgeable, and courteous. The hotel was particularly busy this trip but the staff still took the time to see that our needs were met and questions answered. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is a tram that runs between the Luxor and other hotels which was a valuable amenity to us as my husband has some physical challenges. I would recommed the Luxor to anyone traveling to Las Vegas for business or pleasure.

The food wasn't too bad, it was decent for the price. The maid only showed up 1 of 5 days. It wasn't a bad hotel, but it wasn't great. It looks interesting from the outside, but on the inside it's not impressive at all. Overall I felt it was a generic hotel that didn't really impress me.

Im not really sure why people whined and complained so much about their experience. Maybe they got what they deserved with those attitudes and petty pickiness?? My best friend and I had a great time!! We went to celebrate my 30th birthday and it was both our first times in vegas! We upgraded to the pyramid suite with the spa tub because we couldnt beat the price!! The room was a great size but we were barely in there!! The tub was nice to soak our feet after hours and hours of walking!! Tacos and Tequila was great!!! We went to the mariachi brunch on sunday and they sung to me for my birthday!! The weather was great!! I just dont understand all the complaints. Yes the hotel is a little worn as far as carpets and furniture and its probably time to start the upgrade but seriously what do you expect when people stay there just about every day!!?? I mean come on!! I think the people complaining are just never satisfied and are always looking for something bad or maybe they were already having a bad time because of losing money or their kids were being bratty or the people they were with were fighting so noticing a tear in wallpaper just added the cherry to their sundae!! I felt the staff was very accomodating!! They removed the phone fee without us even asking. I wasnt going to say anything about it because if you do read their website and the fine print here it does say they will charge you (do your research people!) Checkout time was 11 but they had no problem letting us stay til 12 when we called and asked. They even held our luggage for us until 4pm because our flight didnt leave until 6. The ONLY issue I have and I feel that is an orbitz issue is that we were supposed to have all of these little perks (25$ credit for food, 10$ for starbucks, etc). The guy at the desk said he had to put that on my card and hold 100$ a day. Which I was already aware of from the complaints here. It honestly wasnt worth it. I brought a budget in cash and did not want any charges on my

We got to the Luxor and had to wait about 40 minutes in the check-in line which can be frustrating when you've been traveling. The line was there everyday we were there too so it wasn't just a fluke. The casino is nice and has good games, good bars, and good restaurants. The rooms were average at best. They had those cheap plasticy comforters on the bed, no coffee maker, no refrigerator, and the lights in the room were very dim at all times. We had two rooms and the other room on top of being dim had a light out so it was dark in there at night. The first day they cleaned the room they only left 2 towels and no wash clothes and there were three of us staying there. We had to call room service and wait a while before showering to get them. NOW HERE ARE MY COMPLAINTS...we went out to the pool around 10 and they were all roped off but one so everyone and there kid was in one. They eventually opened another an hour or so later but that was annoying! We were looking to relax by the pool all day and it wasn't big enough to handle the tons of people there. Also after the huge wait to check in, I was handed a bill for the room. When I got the room online, it advertised 'no more fees" but then they said it was in small print and it was for the paper and 2 bottled waters they deliver each with use of the gym. I didn't want that stuff!!! They also advertise late check out and when I BEGGED, yes BEGGED, they refused!! Our planed didn't leave till 8pm so we were roaming all day!!

I stayed here one night to extend my vacation, after spending too much time at the Mirage pool and not willing to drive back home immediately. The parking garage made me uneasy, and there were some sketchy looking characters milling around. The check in line was outrageous- it took an hour, even though things were moving along pretty well. The check in alone would deter me from staying here again. Our room was in the Pyramid and though it remained quiet, the rooms are in need of remodeling. It smelled like smoke and feet, the carpets and bedspreads were old, the room had popcorn ceiling (which just absorbs smoke like a sponge) not many channels available on TV, and the AC was loud. Not only that, you are subjected to images of Carrot Top and Criss Angel everywhere you go. We even saw Carrot Top cruising around. The inclinator is scary, but not as scary as Carrot Top's muscles. The restaurants seem to have a "strip club" atmosphere, and the whole vibe of the hotel is cheesy. The pool area seemed pretty nice, but I probably wouldn't come back unless I was out to celebrate my 21st birthday all over again, dance on the tables right after eating dinner, and come back to a room just to pass out. Might be a good bachelor/ bachelorette party zone. The remodeled rooms at the Excalibur are nicer than these for a budget vegas trip.

Just went to Vegas for the first time this past weekend. The Luxor is a great place to stay if you're a money-conscious traveler. It's close to the airport, so you can take the hotel shuttle and be there in 15-20 minutes, but it's still on the strip, so you're within walking distance from most casinos, restaurants, shows, etc... Check-in was a breeze once we got to the front of the line. Concierge was very helpful. Rooms were clean. Pool was nice. All-in-all, a great first stay in Vegas. I would definitely stay there again. For those of you who don't like to walk: be forewarned: The Luxor is at the south end of the strip, so it's quite a hike to get up to the Mirage, Wynn, Treasure Island, and some of the other north strip hotels for sight-seeing purposes. If you don't want to pay for cabs and want to walk everywhere, then I'd suggest staying somewhere a little further north so you're right in the middle of everything. Although the $7/day ;Deuce bus is an excellent way to get around. The only negative thing I would say ;and this isn't anything about the Luxor; is that if you want to rent a car for a day or two ;we drove to the Grand Canyon for a day;, rent it from the hotel, because the rentals at the airport without a reservation are outrageously expensive. I'm not sure how many other hotels do this, but the Luxor has cars for daily rentals. The buffet was alright, but there are better ones further north.

Being unemployed for a year, I thought I'd spend my last unemployment check in Las Vegas 8/25-27/2009. I don't gamble, I'd rather stay in a decent hotel, watch shows, or go on some vegas tours. I also decided to get s spa treatment (scalp $, sweedish $ + coupon upon chk in). They ran the $ charge and at the last minute, I decide to get a full body massage cost $, so I would then just pay the difference from the sweed massage an extra $ or so. The gentleman and the lady gave great massages. I felt relaxed and worry free, until I got to the hotel and called my bank to chk my balance. My bal was -$. Not only did they charge $ but $rather then the difference $. So all day Wednesday I was on panic mode. I thought to myself, I'm in Vegas with no money for food for the next day or so, how am I gonna pay for my luggage to check in on the plane? After so many hours of thinking what to do, I went down to the casino area and looked for an ATM and hoping and praying it would give me cash. There is a God, I took out $ enough for food and luggage fees. BTW, if you order the IN ROOM TV internet access. I found out that personal email like AOL, YAHOO, Gmail can not be accessed. They block it regardless if you pay I found out when i called the fornt desk and requested internet asistance and contacted the engineering personnel. They replacedthe inroom keyboard, that was not the prob. The engineering eprsonel called I guess Luxor tech support, thats how I found out that personal emails are blocked.

We stayed in the Spa suite for 5 nights and it was excellent. The room was large and clean, with a ridiculously large bathroom, sitting room and lovely spa in the bedroom by a window. The spa tub is the reason we chose this room and actually this hotel because of the availability and it did not disappoint. It was shaped like a 4-leaf clover, with seats on either side one way and full tub the other way. There were televisions in both the sitting room and living room that had a (sadly) limited channel selection and were kind of old with some picture problems, but that wasn't an issue since we didn't watch much tv. The maids were excellent, when we slept late they called mid-afternoon to arrange a cleaning time. The room had a fridge but no microwave. The food in the Luxor ranged from standard-priced Mcdonalds to the Buffet to the fancy steakhouse "Tender". There were several pools, though they closed one of the them on the weekdays we were there so the others were a tad crowded. The only con is that the Luxor is towards the end of the strip and so there was a lot of walking to see the rest of it. That's not exactly something they can easily change though :) You can also get to the Excalibur and Mandalay Bay with ease, you never really need to go outside if you don't want!

This is one of the best, if not the best hotel I have ever stayed in, and through Travelocity it was one of the cheapest! It was a mind trip to see a huge line just to check in, but they had us through it and out in 15 minutes tops, and we found out they have free valet! We jumped on that and the valet guy was so cool and even remembered us the next day to get our car. The rooms are beautiful as well as the casino itself. The Criss Angel "Believe" show is awesome and the entire hotel just has such a magical and welcoming feel. I loved it and I will always stay there when I go back to Vegas

Stayed 2 nights at the Luxor on the tail - end of a western vacation. Check in was a breeze, upgraded to a tower room free ($ roon vs $). Room rate was $/ night , but they do add a $" Resort Fee", for which you get 2 bottles of water, the paper in the morning, and it's manditory, so they should just add it to the room price. They did give me a $ meal voucher, so the resort fee turns out to be a wash if you eat there. The Buffet was great, they have a nice pool, but it is only 3 1/2 ft deep. They do have a hot tub, which I would not enter (over 100 each day I was there), but my wife liked it. The casino was nice, but most of them are. Room was great, with a view of Las Vegas strip, and nce view at sunrise. Bed was large and fairly comfortable. Connected by walkways and monorail to Mndalay Bay and Excaliber. Drinks were expensive ( for a beer and a mixed drink). They do offeer free drinks if you are playing slots, though. Tried to go to the night club, but it was not open. Self parking is out in back, they do offer vallet service, but it was full by the time we got there. Parking is in a covered garage. Very cool layout and decor if you are into Egyptian stuff. Over all, a good value for a nice hotel. If you want to walk around the strip, it's a LONG walk to the little shops and attractions alonf Las Vegas Blvd, this hotel is amoung the huge casino's that each are a block long.

We upgraded to a newer tower room ;the standard rooms smell like smoke. Our room was okay. The pillows and mattresses were somewhat comfortable. The bedspread was outdated, the towels were not soft, and our view was not great. There is a $ delivery fee for room service that we didn't notice before ordering, and the food is overpriced and not very good. At least it arrived on time, and the guy was friendly. We also weren't thrilled with the Pyramid Cafe ;slow service even when they weren't crowded. There was a very long line to check in at midnight on a Thursday. The room is not well sound-proofed; we could hear loud people in the hallway all night long. The free daily newspaper was nice. The location was great, and is the reason we chose this hotel.

Nice hotel, with everything you expect in Vegas! Self park was a little hard to find. Over all, the hotel was clean, with everything in working order. Used valet parking when first arrived, and had bags sent to room. When the bags arrived, my medications were missing from the toiletry bag. While gambling in the casino one night; I waited over half an hour for a waitress to approach me. I was satisfied with my stay, and had an excellent time. Would probably stay in a hotel more towards the middle of the strip, it would help with the distance of walking.

I was very pleased for the most part with my room at the Luxor,my only two complaints are with the lighting in the room and the bathroom floor wasn't cleaned very well. I have short hair and it was a bobby pin and the floor along with some dust on the floor in the bathroom i told the housekeeper as i was leaving, but nothing was done. I also felt that the room was a little dark , if i open the curtain it made the room hot. We had a spa room in the pyramid and you could tell that someone overfilled the tub because the wallpaper was peeling away and they removed the trim by the tub. The bathroom was newly remodeled and beautiful. my wife is very sensitive to smoke and the room and the casino did not bother her at all. Two great exhibits and 2 great shows there. Also love the fact that there was a mcdonalds and a little ceasars there open 24 hrs. The buffet was pretty good and much better than the pink flamingos. I had made the reservation 6 month in advance and called a week ahead to confirm, they assured me all was set. When i get there after being in line for 40 minutes they tell me there is no one bed available and me and my fiance at the time needed to take a 2 bed room, so we had a little argument to start until they told me if i waited 3 hours (with all my bags after a looonngg flight) they will let me have the 1 room i reserved. The other bad thing in the hotel is that there are salesman from other hotels that waste a lot of your time, they insinuate they have all this shows for cheap, which they do, but they tell you the catch at the end, you need a lot of time in your hands to do this because in order to get the shows you need to go see their hotel and spend a morning wasting a lot of time. In the luxor the wall paper we ripped and the bed not made when we walked into our room. After you get passed the initial shocked the place is not bad, but don't expect the luxury that is adverticed, i give it 2.5 stars but i was forced to choose 2 or 3.

The Luxor was ok. Room was a bit small and only had a shower. Whe we arrived at 4pm, we were greeted by a desk rep who had a nasty attitude and was NOT helpful at all. This totally turned me off from ever wanting to stay here again. Hotel is a bit far from the action. Recommend one in the center of the strip to avoid high cab fares and a lot of walking. There was only 1 blackjack table for ten bucks, most were either 25 or way higher. Got several attitudes from diffrent people in the casino..not sure why...but a lot of people seem unhappy about being at their jobs. The hotel next to it made up for a lot of their shortfalls.

I was looking forward to staying at Luxor! We were there for a wedding at the Luxor. I have stayed at Rio, Excalibur, MGM, Bellagio, And Paris. I must say the room which I upgraded to a suite in "The Tower" was very nice. However, friends I was traveling with rooms were poor. They stayed in the "Pyramid". I visited these rooms and was shocked. They both had suites. The carpets were worn and stretched with tripping hazards. The doors to the rooms were dirty and had scuff marks through out the floor in the hallways.Annoying solicitors in the casino and lobby constantly trying to "Give" you "Free" things that are not free. This was the most annoying of all. I was ready to leave the hotel over this issue. The hotel is looking run down and worn. The pool closes at 7pm with sun down at 8:30pm. Soft drinks were $4.00 for an 8 ounce Pepsi...not a 20 ounce bottle. This was disturbing. The hallway we were in had large puddles of water on the floor for 5 day straight from the ice machine, so much so they had to KEEP a sign on the area. And no less than 5 out of 12 escalators were not functioning in the Luxor during our visit.Another most annoying feature of the Luxor was you cannot go to a friends room on another floor from the tower to the pyramid.Because you room key card only works in your elevator. So if you are in tower A you cannot visit your party in tower B.We had a large party of people for a wedding and could not visit other people in our parties room with out having to have them come down to the lobby and bring us back up.This was just ridiculous.I was very disappointed with the Luxor. Had I not paid and additional $160.00 to upgrade my room. I would have left the hotel the first day.

This is a pretty good hotel, but wants money for everything else, even though u pay a huge amount as rent. The room looks average...Any thing u touch and they ask to pay... it includes viewing TV, using internet, and even drinking water. The A/C was no9t working good and the room was hot enough during an average summer (End of Apr)that I didnt get a good sleep. This resort has a very good architectural beauty and good customer service but they were tooo greedy to charge money for everythign else though u pay the rent (assumed that u get atleast the basic necessities free). The nice part was travelling in the inclinator.

We were fortunate and were upgraded to a one room suite at check-in, so this experience may not have been the norm. Because of this, though, our experience at the hotel was amazing. The view wasn't so great from our windows, but the suite was fantastic. The Luxor is basically at the south end of the strip, so you do have to walk a good bit to get anywhere else. It's probably a 20-30 minute walk to the monorail station at the MGM, which can get you to the other end of the strip if you want to go back and forth to other casinos frequently. The MORE breakfast buffet was fantastic. The Pyramid Cafe was good (especially the pizza). The casino was modern and clean, and not overwhelmingly big. All in all, an excellent place to stay, but we were probably somewhat biased by the suite.

Overall, the hotel was nice. What we didn't like about the room was the temperature control. With the temps reaching 101 every day, the air control panel did not cool down the room enough. After showering, the room got extremely steamy and warm. The air didn't cool down the room at all, which made it very uncomfortable to change. Also the shower stall had one place too put a bar of soap. There were 3 girls in our party with shampoos, conditioners, razors, soap, etc and there was no place to set these anywhere. Also, the drain in the shower was clogged so as each of us showered, there was about 2 inches of water at our feet. It was gross. I wouldn't recommende this "Pyramid" room to anyone.

Location. Elevator moved side to side while descending. Very scary. This hotel has seen a better day. Peeling wall paper and the only area they keep up are the public areas. The internet in the room was expensive and the cable which was behind the TV would only reach to the edge of the bed. No wireless. So I had to work sitting with my laptop on my lap at the edge of the bed. The buffet court was just barely okay. The pool had no shade anywhere unless you wanted to pay a fortune for a cabana. Music blaring everywhere so there was no peace and quiet to rest and read by the pools which were massive. I lasted 10 minutes and gave up in the 97 degree heat. People who worked at the hotel were nice and check in was easy in spite of the line.

The way this deal was advertised, they make you think you're actually going to stay in the pyramid part of the hotel which is the main attraction to most people but it is not so at all. Then I was given a room with two queen beds when I just wanted a King since it was just two of us.(I was not told or given a choice by the front desk; just surprised when I got to the room)THe room was not stylish either as stated here.

Room xxx, for example, the floor lamp shape is broken, bathroom door knob does not work, hot water faucet on the sink doesn't stop tightly. Also, took the room service 2 hours to respond and to re-program the TV remote control. If you return to hotel after 9 pm, you probably spend 30 min. to look for a park spot in self parking. My husband and I visit Vegas more than other other place. The Luxor is comparable to most of the hotels on the south end of the strip. The hotel was clean, and the service was good. Check in/out went smooth. Since we didn't spend much time in our room, other than to sleep, I would have to say that the beds were not very comfortable. And if you roam and walk around a lot during the day, as we do, you do want a comfortable bed to sleep in. Other than that, the Luxor was fine and I would stay there again now that I know the lay of land and if I could get a good rate.

Was able to get a different room for rest of stay which was in considerably better condition but no where near as clean as two previous stays. Hotel hallways were unkept, sometimes item left in hallway for more than a day, including empty glasses, paper, etc. Location was excellent, pool was great, although no concessions open for food or beverage service. Casino has and is still being renovated causing some difficulty in navigating hotel. Overal not pleased.

Our bed was angled, the foot of the bed was raised slightly so when you layed down it felt like the blood was rushing to your head. Room service was extremly over priced and took an hour at least everytime to deliver. I will never go back there. We went over valentines day and it was nothing to brag about ive stayed in cheaper hotels and had a better experience. The only thing i enjoyed about the luxor was the bodies exibit. It was our first time to Vegas, and we got a great deal, so overall it was a good stay for the money. However, the hotel was a hike to get to any of the major attractions on the strip, and I will definitely consider that the next time we to go Vegas - it's important to factor taxis into the overall price of the trip! We did have a few issues, also - at 9 am the first day of our stay an awful grinding noise started above our room. We called the desk and learned they were replacing windows on the floor above us. The desk representative was super nice and moved our room and gave us some dining credits; however, the next morning we had the same issue in our new room (in a different tower than the first). Extremely annoying, since we were out late and hoped to sleep in a bit. Also, we tried to eat in the TENDER restaurant onsite and didn't realize it was wise to have reservations, so they couldn't get us in before our show. They told us we could get right in at the bar and access the full menu, so we sat at the bar and were ignored by the bartender for 15 minutes before we finally left. We had good experiences at the buffet and the Pyramid Cafe, though. Overall, though, the room was decent for the money.

I was dissapointed to find out what the value received was for the price purchased. The maids entered the room, even though we placed the "Sleeping" sign on the door, when we did not answer the knock on the door. Also bummed when just 2 days prior to leaving for vacation, the hotel price dropped lower than what we purchased it for, just a week before that. Bathrooms need some remodeling and furnishings are probably from the 80's. So, everything smells accordingly, in the room. Next hotel over, had rooms that were remodeled recently, for $ less, per night. A bit dissapointing.

Very sad to say that this hotel is very dirty, the carpets are stained and very dirty, and the floor too. It was like they had not cleaned floor for years. Restrooms walls were full of grime. We get to Luxor late at night but even if we were sleepy, we realised that the room was dirty. We called the reception and half hour later they came to change sheets (yellow instead of white!). It was very funny because these women tried to find blank ones but it was very hard. We've stayed two nights so I thought to leave a note to housekeeping so that they they would have cleaned the room... but I failed. We've also asked for a working hair dryer because one in the room was broken. All things considered, a bad experience.

We did an Orbitz package and couldn't be happier! In the past we always book air, room, car separately but recently read that rental cars and hotels are adding a bunch of extra charges, and the way around this was to book a package, which we did. For the cost of the flight alone we got the Luxor and a car... The rental agent tried to get us to change the agreement, but we just said to stay with the agreement. The Luxor was great, at the check-in the young lady said our package allowed her to give us an up-grade, $25. in food credit, $10 at Starbucks, $10 in booze, and $10 in slot credit ! Our room was in the east tower, brand new with a view. We checked out the original room (a pyramid room) and saw we really got a great up-grade. The pyramid is ok, just showing it's age... Great Deal ! Thanks Orbitz !

You could smell the dust in the air but they did discontinued in the weekends but continued in the week days in the morning and afternoon. The restaurants there were excellent and the food was great. The pool area was crowed and at times witch made finding a spot to tan difficult. The convent stores were excellent for our needs, inside and in the pool area! The Lexor was comfortable but we found that hotel staff was not prepared to answer questions regarding activities in the city or surrounding areas. There was so much selling and outside vendor promotionalism going on that it was hard to focus on the hotel and what it offered. The room was nice and housekeeping was helpful. We had no prior knowledge and was taken back when we were told $25 per day on our way inside. We declined and went to the pool instead. We upgraded our room to a suite and had a great view of the Las Vegas strip. The buffet was excellent and we received discount at check in. Bring your own hand towels for this trip. Two out of the three nights we stayed, we had to call housekeeping for towels. Also, bring your own ear plugs so you don't hear noise outside of your room. There was no remote control for the tv upon checkin. The air conditioner didn't give comfort, with it being set on high, coldest. The fan in the bathroom eventually made you feel that you had been to a rock concert for about three days. It was very loud. Most of the staff were friendly, however there were a few that were just rude and had no business being in the customer service industry.

I was charged for Internet service yet the only place to plug my computer in required me to sit on the floor. There was no way for me to utilize my laptop at the desk which of course would have been the ideal location. Staff was unresponsive to needs. The rooms were not very clean. Only one of 5 personal requests to the front desk and guest services was ever acted open.] TV reception was grainy as if it was hooked up to rabbit ears. The remote control didn't work and it took maintenance an hour and a half to make it up to my room. The front desk often let the phone ring a dozen times or more before they picked up and then rudely placed you on hold. I was certainly not treated as a VIP even though I was a single man in a suite. This is a two and a half star hotel at best and that is because of the staff. It has the potential to be a four star hotel with better, responsive and caring staff.

We recently booked into the Luxor for 3 nights. A flight cancelled by fog forced us to modify our reservation from 3 nights to 2 nights. We booked online so the date change was handled online. When we arrived to check in the hotel was still waiting for paperwork to be faxed from them, so there was a delay at check in. This is where I was most impressed with the Luxor. Instead of directing me to a telephone to sort things out with them the clerk at the check in desk took on the challenge of calling the online company and stayed with the challenge for almost a full hour while she was transferred from one agent to another in an attempt to get a fax confirmation from them to confirm our reservation. She even went to confirm with the Manager that the Hotel would be able to take us in, as they were nearing full capacity. This was customer service !! When we did get to our room it was exactly the type that was booked and it was spotless. After reading some of the other (negative) reviews I was not sure what to expect...I guess some people are just hard to please. We would most certainly stay here again.

I booked this hotel because of the down bedding seen on the web page. I had reserved a smoking room. When I got to my room, it was neither down bedding nor smoking. They quickly relocated us to a smoking room, however they said the down bedding was only in the suites, and they only have one bed. (In the photo for the room I ordered it showed down.) We then proceeded downstairs to eat, and chose Tequila and Tacos. We were very disappointed with the service, the atmosphere, children running around, high prices and poor food, however we were compensated for our $15 chili relleno. The room was damaged and dirty upon arrival. There was pubic hair around and inside the spa tub! Reported to hotel staff who said they'd change rooms when we returned from a wedding. Upon returning to get our things for room change, we discovered they went into the room to repair some of the damages while we were gone without our consent or knowledge. Some of the damages included a broken armoire cabinet door, hinges were broken off. Light fixture wires were exposed and it was hanging crooked off the ceiling. One of the phones didn't work properly and the bathroom fan didn't work at all! When arriving to second room for our room change, there was no soap or shampoo, and there were dirty used towels in the room. One was hanging over the second tv. There were also no washcloths. Called customer service again to request soap and report dirty towels and missing towels. They brought some shampoo and soap in a plastic bag an hour later. They left the dirty towels in our room, and never brought the washcloths. The rooms look dark and dingy. This hotel does not even deserve 1 star. The buffet was disgusting. The spanish omelet was alright, could've made it better at home. The French Toast was good but the rest of the food was not. My boyfriend and brother tried the tacos and said the meat tasted rotten. The only thing everyone enjoyed at the buffet was the champagne. It was not worth the $85.00 we paid for our group of 4 people. We walked to the "In and Out" burger joint a few blocks up the road and their food tasted better and for 3 of us only cost $17.00.We were only there for one day and couldn't wait to leave. We had more fun, and better food during our layover in Santa Ana, CA. The only pleasant experience at the Luxor was our conversation with one of their staff members [...] She was very sweet and they're lucky to have her as an employee!

The Luxor has a different set up of a hotel. We stayed in the Pyramid Deluxe and it was alright. The elevator getting up to our room was quite fast. It was a bit scary once you get up to the floor and walk along the balcony. I couldn't get too close to the edge for fear of heights. I can't imagine if someone who was drunk enough to fall over or even a curious child to want to look over the edge. I didn't like the fact that we kept getting bothered by those people who offer you packages as you pass by. Its annoying. I just ignore them and say no. The hotel had some good shows and the buffet was okay. The parking was great as well as the location.

My experience at the Luxor was not the most pleasant. Registration desk was rather surly and indifferent. After checking in, and the long haul to my room, it turned out that the room key didn't work, requiring another 15 minute round trip (plus waiting at the desk again) to get it reprogrammed. I stayed in the "pyramid", and the roof leaked during a rainstorm. The room was clean and seemed fairly well kept, but the halls and elevator had a "5 years past renovation time" look. If it wasn't for the fairly good price it would not have been worth staying there at all. In my opinion, some of the off strip hotels offer much, much better value.

The Luxor was lacking in customer support from the moment I checked in. The staff was very bland in there greeting and seemed upset with me when I got upset about having to wait until 1130 am to check-in when I arrived around 930 am vegas time. Once in the room I was upset about having no safe in the room to store my valuables, you'd think in a place like Las Vegas there would be a safe in your room..........Don't get me wrong Vegas is vegas and I'll always have a good time but I would never recommend the Luxor again to anyone staying on the strip.......

The Luxor was not what I expected. In fact I was truely disappointed. The toilet in the bathroom had comet or some other white powder, all around the toilet, dirt in the corners of the room where quick and less than thorough sweeping has left it. The door on the bathroom needed to be replaced as it was starting to delaminate from the moisture in the bathroom I would presume. The prices of food and drinks on property were equal or worse than everywhere else. The pool bar prices were highway robbery. Overall this trip to Vegas was by far the least enjoyable vacation in many years.

I also thought that the check-in process is a joke, I like many others come to Vegas to gamble, eat good etc and of the many times Ive gone to Vegas this is the first time I'm not making any plans to return, The Luxor like others spend a ton to keep you in the Casino as long as possible, the check in process supports this. The price of food has gone 100% up with the quality of the past going straigt down.

The Luxor is in need of significant refreshing. The public ares are dark and gloomy, and there are many areas that are in need of a fresh cost of paint or cleaning. The rooms are fine as far as cleanliness, although the decor is dated and the room lighting is on the dark side. The bathrooms are OK, however grouting around showers seem have mold and staining. The toiletries provided (soaps, shampoos, etc)are very skimpy. Towels and linens are clean but very grey from years of service. There hotel is still very busy due to it's value pricing.

We have stayed at the Luxor a couple of times. Although it is your basic theme hotel in Vegas, the rooms are always clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful with directions and insights into local spots to visit. The quality of the food in the cafe seemed to have declined, but the buffet, Starbuck snack areas, and food court made up for it. Shopping inside the hotel was disappointing as most of the shops have gone out of business.

I was impressed with the Luxor in the respect that I had called the front desk because there was a light bulb out and they were going to send someone right up but the timing was bad so I told them not to. When we returned that evening to our room- the light bulb had been replaced! The only thing I was not happy with was the fact that the maids did not replace the dirty towels that were on the floor leaving us with 1 clean towel and 2 people to shower. The rooms were more than adequate-quite large in fact.

The Luxor The Hotel Staff were very pleasant.....the room seemed to be clean and maintained. Howwever, the rolling cot they gave for my daughter to sleep on had bugs in it. The ordeal was not a pleasant one......We had to vacate the room......Her bed clothes were sent to be dry-cleaned. She wouldn't sleep in the bed in the room (3 hours later) that was given to us. She has been to over-night camp so she isn't a squeamish kid.....this was her b'day present. Security and housekeeping were sent to the room........Forms has to be filled out.....They seemed very informed as to what they had to do...........which leads me to believe this has happened before? A woman called the night before we left and told me.........The analysis of the bugs had not come back.....

We reserved a Pyramid Deluxe room for 1 night at a promotional rate. When we checked in, we were told that our room was "upgraded" to a Tower room. After walking a long way through many corridors and turns, we found the correct elevator to the Tower rooms. Upon entering our room, we discovered that there were two double beds (we reserved a King) and the room was very hot. We decided not to complain about the two beds since we were only going to be staying one night, but called about the temp. We asked to have our room changed to one that was not so hot. We were told that it was probably the filter and that they would send someone to check it. The maintenance man came quickly and confirmed that it was a bad filter. He changed it and assured us that we would be turning the air down before too long. Unfortunately, it was never cool enough to turn the air down. The bathroom was very nice, but the room itself looked a bit shabby and old. It was very functional and clean, but not anything to write home about. The next morning when we were ready to leave, we had trouble backtracking our path to the main door. We eventually found a door and a cab, but I think I would have rather had the Pyramid room we booked. At least it would have been close to the action and would have had a better view than the one we had.

For our first trip to Vegas we could have not chosen a better hotel. Great location, great restaurants, great staff, and great rooms. Not noisy and very clean. We will stay there on our next visit and we have already recommended this hotel to family and friends. It is not too expensive and has great pools. The suite in the tower is very spacious and the bathroom is clean and updated with marble. It has a seperate tub and shower. There are several elevators and several stores throughout. Chris Angel and Carrot Top have shows there. The Luxor's location makes it very convenient to walk down the strip and NOT miss anything. It was GREAT and I will be back!!!

My wife and I decided to add a stop through Vegas on an California-Arizona road trip this June. We wanted to keep trip costs low, and with Vegas we generally go for less exciting hotels so we can spend our money on good food and gambling. The ~$150/night rate at the Luxor caught my eye. We were also enticed by the pyramid and liked that it was located next to casinos we like (NYNY, MGM Grand). We got in on a Friday afternoon and the check-in line was surprisingly long. I had no idea Vegas was doing this much business in the current economy! After a 20 minute wait in line, we got to the desk and got suckered into an upgrade from the pyramid to the Tower for an extra $20 a night. When prompted, they told us that the tower rooms were newer and had tubs, so we went for it. In retrospect, though, I wonder if we were fooled, because they said the tower had "a separate bath and shower and the pyramid only had a shower." All we wanted was a tub, and maybe the pyramid "showers" had a tub combo, but we'll never know. Watch out for this offer if you book at the Luxor and want to keep your fare to a minimum. The tower did seem fairly new. The rooms were in great condition, and somewhat spacious. For the record, the tub was nice and big and proved a worthwhile respite from hours on our feet during the day. We had a "back view" which consisted of the pool and parking lot. We were on the 12th floor so we had a nice view of the mountains to the west, but for a huge chunk of both Friday and Saturday afternoons (during which we had planned to nap) the pool DJ was blasting top 40 hits and hosting dance competitions. We were 120 feet up but it was hard to hear the TV over the good vibrations. Luxor's lobby was pretty impressive. The pyramid made for a nice central space and there were two exhibitions plus a Criss Angel show everyone seemed to hate. We didn't make time to see any of the shows, but the Human Body exhibit looked interesting. We found that the monorail was the cheapest and

The Luxor is dark and smokey everywhere and after several days the atmosphere was depressing. The room was adequately large. But here are several reasons I would not recommend this hotel: we had no towels on one day, the pool area had little shade unless you paid for an umbrella or cabana, the TV had no mute button that worked, the air conditioning fan noise was too loud to sleep, the restaurant and food options were truly poor and over priced, and the signage in the hotel was confusing or non existant. On the otherhand the concierge and valet services were excellent and friendly.

Our stay at the Luxor was not the highlight of our trip by far. We waited in long lines, hardly found any staff when needed them and were welcomed by dirty rooms. The highlight of the stay were the bell hops and valet's. Only downside was you had to pay extra for these services and the valet was always full. The restraunts were extreemly over priced and we constantly found ourselves eating and playing in other hotels.

The Luror Hotel in Vegas needs to go through a renovation. Of course this is Vegas and we didn't spend a ot of time in the hotel so for the price it was fine. Having to hook up to a hard wire for Internet service was a pain. There is no excuse for a hotel to not have wireless. The hotel looks a bit run down as we noticed wringled carpets in the halls, and a faded run down appearence. One elevator was very noisy and sounded like it was going to break down.

The Luxor was okay overall but had two real problems that impacted my stay in ways that really mattered to me. The first was the lack of connectivity to rooms. It was just not me; I ran into others with the same problem. I know--it's Vegas, right? Who needs the internet there? Well, I was there for a family wedding and NEEDED to be connected to my work daily. Second, the staff, while polite, were unable to answer my questions about connectivity, wheelchairs and other accommodations for my elderly parents, etc. The place is not ADA-compliant, so this help really mattered to me. Some of the staff clearly were not fully trained to do their jobs. Overall, I got the impression of a hotel under mediocre management in a dramatic facility. That's a shame too! I did have a great desk clerk sign register me, but that seemed to be by chance.

The Luxor in Las Vegas was not my favorite place to stay. The rooms were very darkly lit, which does add a bit of ambiance, but even when I turned on every single light it was still way too dark, and I am young. I can only imagine if you were older and had poorer vision. When I got to my room it was hot and stuffy and the air conditioner was broken. Maintanence was fairly responsive, took about an hour to get it fixed, but after a long day of travelling the last thing I wanted to do was sit an watch a repair guy in my room. Plus, when he removed the old motor a bunch of dust bunnies were left on the carpet, and he made no apologies about. The worst part of the room I have yet to mention. My room was on the second floor with the hallway balcony overlooking a casino gambling room. As soon as I entered the room I knew I was in trouble because I could hear the slot machines very clearly even with the door shut. This went on all night with the machines making very annoying cartooney like sounds. I am a light sleeper so this annoyed me greatly. I guess I should have known better staying in a casino, but my work training class was nearby and I thought it would be convenient and cost worthy. Also, I had hoped to have a nice view from my room as seen on the internet, but my room had a view of a small alley like space, containing construction equipment. Needless to say I was happy to leave this hotel.

We stayed in the tower portion, so would have liked to see what the Pyramid rooms looked like. Our room was very nice, quiet and comfortable... except for the bed! I think the floor would have been softer! ... almost tried out that theory too! Can I give a Negative number for the bed?? Bathroom is beautiful and was very clean. It was a loooooooooonnnnnng walk (guessing a good 10min walk) to our room. Whenever we came out of the elevator to the main floor from our rooms, even though we were getting on the SAME elevator as when we went up...it never looked the same as when we DID go up! magic??? It took several trips before we mastered all the twists and turns and hallways TO get to the room! Valet parking was very quick and very professional, courteous. The desk staff was nice. The room was the one resereved, so we were overall happy. Looking at where some of the pyramid rooms were, I think we were probably glad that we didn't overalook the casino, since it would have been too noisy....even though the casino slots don't use coins anymore, so they don't really sound like the casinos used to. Housekeeping came in while we were sleeping, but then again we did forget to put the sign out on the door, so no "dings" for that. Can't write about room service since we didn't use it. Overall, a nice hotel, but wish it was closer to other things on the strip. We got a LOT of walking in on this trip!! Whew! Ate tons of really tasty food all over the place....and LOST weight! LOL!

My husband has stayed at the Luxor before and enjoyed it so we expected a pleasant stay, however that was not to be. When we got there after spending almost 10 hours traveling we had to stand in line at check in for an hour. They talked us into an upgrade and when we got to our room it was not clean. We were told that an additional $10 a day would be charged to our room over and above the upgrade fee for taxes or some such but that we would receive two bottles of water per day. They didn't bring it on days 2 or 3 so I called and said we wanted them, we were going into the desert that day so 4 bottles would be enough and save us a trip to the store. They brought them (only two, should have been 4), and we stepped out of our room for lunch and housekeeping came in and took them back! Then they took our towels and I had to call and get some. They didn't clean our room, left all the trash, didn't replace the glasses until I asked or give us a clean sleeve for the ice bucket so we couldn't get ice. No fridge either so we had nothing but warm drinks. They made the bed and left. If this was the upgrade I shudder to think what we had originally signed up for. In addition, after spending 45 minutes in line to get our players card it didn't work. We again stood in line a second time and again it didn't work so we gave up and didn't get any points for the money we spent gambling. Both times at the T and T restaurant didn't get our drinks until well after the food was served and forget refills, that just was not going to happen. Not to mention the absolutely rude cocktail waitresses in the Casino, another whole story. We have never been treated like this and we travel often. We've taken 5 trips since January and are pretty easygoing but this was one thing after another. Also, the property is in dire need of refurbishment, it reeks and is very run down.As far as check out, that line was at least an hour long when we checked in so we opted to express check out so we wouldn't miss

staying at the Luxor, is not bad, but the Pyramid is showing years of wear and tear, and the decay is catching up, with the place. The room ( suite) was as large, but because of the nature of the construction, there is a lot of wasted space. The bathroom, even though three guests residing, did not have enough towels . The same towels , were gray, even though white originaly. They needed to be replaced. Otherwise, the proximity from the airport is a plus, but we had most or our meals outside, because nothing realy appealed to us.

I was there for a business convention. Luxor is okay. But for the money I paid on the deluxe tower the room is not as big\special as the pictures made it out to be on their website. I thought that every room would have a great view of the strip but mine faced a concrete beam. I would have done better to stay in the standard rooms and saved the money. We were a little disappointed with the buffet the first night we ate there, but the second was wonderful. Our favorite meals were from the Pyramid Cafe. I believe that this hotel may have seemed very exotic when it first opened but it is starting to look rather shabby both inside and out. The inclinators have their rather unpleasant moments when they can suddenly stop, throwing you sideways. The room that I had was rather shabby, especially in the bathroom. There was no bath but rather a stand up shower. The iron did not work but was attached to the ironing board with a cable so that when I requested a new iron, which came quite quickly, I still had the broken iron to deal with on the ironing board. The room was facing the enormous outdoor advertising screen that belonged to the Mandalay Bay and because my curtains did not completely cover the windows, up at the top, I was aware of the flickering lights emanating from the electronic billboard outside.

BUT......Walking through the lobby and parts of the casino were a travel at risk deal. The people who try to sell show tickets pounced on any and all walking through the lobby. No matter how polite we were and said we had our tickets, they just wouldn't take no for an answer. They are wayyyyyyyyyy to aggressive.
