the hotel in itself was a 3* the location as in this side of the island is not weatherwise ammeniable this is the side of the island which receives the hot wind from the sahara picking up moisture from the atlantic when these clouds reach the shore line/ driven by the strong winds ( 30 mph )they accumulate at the base of the volcanic mountains ( ie puerto de la cruz ) this in itself creates overcast sunless days until the clouds erupt on puerto de la cruz then proceed over to the other shore and onward out to te atlantic once again my previous stays have been on the other side where the climate is more agreeable the temp on the western side is usually 82* with clear sky and maybe an hour of drizzle in a 2 week period this was a learning experience from the schhol of hard knox i would not recommend this side of the isand
