The room service food was very reasonably priced. The internet and pay-per-view movies were both far too expensive. The hotel was absolutely wonderful and extremely comfortable. I would have been fine spending lots of time in the room. The restaurant and room service were extremely good.

Bed and view. Food not that great and no microwave. Good hotel with nice bed and able to exit lobby at different point to parking lot. Gym is okay, nice view while workout and24hr access. Staff and housekeeping very helpful.

I liked the attractive entrance to the hotel. The small rooms. Negatives: Small rooms, thin walls, and a lukewarm shower in the morning. Positives: General appearance, helpfulness of staff, and comfortable beds.

Common areas were large, spacious and location near the water was a plus. Nothing comes to mind.

The hotel was good and location good. The only problem was we were next to the elevator and ice machine and it was very noisy when trying to sleep.

Staff and the room was newly renovated. Noisy room from upstairs. The only negative is that the hotel is remote from old town Charleston. It is an outstanding value that offers newly renovated rooms, friendly staff and clean facilities.

Designing, Classic look. The TV. When entering the hotel, I could tell it had been renovated, the lobby was exquisite, was very nice, modern decor, rooms were nice, beds were comfy, workout room was amazing, only suggestion is to get newer TV's.

The Marriott had exceptional service! They provided me with any information that I needed. They were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were nice and clean. The showers were probably one of my favorite parts because they had two shower heads that gave us tons of pressure. I was a little disappointed that their pool wasn't available but their doing renovations so its fine. The restaurant (Sapphire) was terrific. Their food was very delicious. I recommend trying the flatbread! It was the best hotel I've ever stayed at and will stay at again!

Charleston is a fantastic city to visit - HOWEVER I would not recommend the Charleston Marriott for lodging. First off, it is a nice hotel but in a not so safe area. I booked thru Travel website and purchased a package that included breakfast but the hotel did not honor it - I ended up having to pay again for breakfast. Also, front desk worker Kate gave wrong directions on where to catch a shuttle bus. Don't you think the workers would be knowledgable enough to give accurate directions? Finally, fire alarm went off twice during our stay ;same night - once at 11 pm and the other at 2 am;. This required walking down the stairwells and out of the building. Stairwells were jammed packed - thank god it was a false alarm otherwise it would be terrifying. No explanation was given as to why the alarms went off - but again the front desk person said it does happen quite often. This really made me wonder about the safety of the location. My recommendation is to spend a little extra money and stay in the heart of downtown - not only for the location but for the safety and peace of mind.

This property left me slightly underwhelmed. They were not up to the typical Marriott standard. The staf was ok friendly, but not to well informed about transportation back and forth to the airport. The internet in the room was undependable and the rooms needed an upgrade. The beds, of course, were great. None of these reasons would be enough to stay away-just comments to manage your expectations.

Wow, this was a big suprise! I left another Hotel in Charleston because of quality and cleanliness. The lobby is superb, the room although smallish was very tastefully done, clean and very comfortable. The 5th floor outdoor lounge was great with cozy outdoor firepits on a chilly night! This marriott will always be my first choice in Charleston!

My wife and I showed up at 11 am Sunday morning, I forgot to select early check-in when I purchased the night on on line agency, the staff happly held our luggage for us, gave us a free ride into town (instead of waiting around for the room) and gave us a map. The room was very nice and with a great view. My wife and I used room service twice, and they were prompt and helpful.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with excellent dining suggestions. There was so much condensation on the windows that there were puddles of water on the floor. The hotel was clean and attractive. The staff, from the receptionist to the concierge, was friendly and very helpful. The location was convenient to historic Charleston and the other places that we wanted to visit. We did not eat in the hotel dining area but the smells wafting into the lobby made it hard to resist. Parking was more then adequate with many entrances into the hotel. I would recommend the Marriot Charleston to my friends and family.

Nice appointment. A/c heat unit was defective. Made a loud bang waking me ever hour or so. This had all the things one would expect from an upscale hotel. They were renovating the a/c heat units and the one in my room was awful. It woke me over and over.
