Pretty hotel and grounds. Room nicely equipped and good size. Restaurant comfortable, menu sounded more interesting than it actually was.

Beautiful location let down by decor and furnishings. The hotel could do with decorating and simplifying. New beds must be top of the list - the double bed we had not only creaked with the slightest movement but you rolled together. We had no warning that there was a wedding that night and the noise until gone 3am was not good when you are trying to sleep. We never tried the resturant as it was deserted. We had to wait for sometime to be served at the bar when returning from eating elsewhere. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful.

Wouldn't stay here again...or recommend....dreadful stay!We had a decent stay on Friday evening, but it went rapidly down hill from there on in! We were not informed of a wedding on the second night - despite making the reservation 5 weeks earlier! The hotel wrote to us informing us of an upgrade, but not of the wedding disco (in the marquee next to our room) that went on until 12.25am! We attempted to order 24 hour room service (as described in the guest information) at 10pm, only to be informed the kitchen closes at 9:30pm. We asked for a sandwich or snack - and received what only can be described as a 'wedding day buffet left over' an hour later....curled and dried out sandwich @ over £12 for 8 small triangles of cardboard. No response to our complain. Breakfast ok, but expensive for what you get. Hotel would be ok if you have low expectation and standards.
