General Description

The Millennium Bostonian Hotel in historic downtown Boston has put the finishing touches on its $25 million renovation. The opening of North 26 Restaurant and Bar, a progressive New England dining concept, caps off the hotel's transformation, bringing high quality and stylish additions to all guest rooms and public areas. New and returning guests have much to anticipate at the newly-renovated Millennium Bostonian Hotel. Designers Jinnie Kim Design of Boston (who handled guest rooms, public areas and exterior) and CCS Architecture of New York (the new restaurant and bar) took inspiration from local and regional influences to create a timeless concept. The renovation of Millennium Bostonian Hotel creates a striking addition to the Millennium portfolio in North America, and we look forward to welcoming guests to one of the city's most desirable addresses, said Dominique Marty, General Manager of Millennium Bostonian Hotel. North 26 Restaurant and Bar At North 26, trend meets tradition with an innovative new menu created by Executive Chef Brian Flagg, featuring fresh seafood, choice cuts of beef, hearty appetizers and indulgent desserts. North 26 offers a New England dining experience that blends the old world with the new, promoting natural and sustainable cooking in historic downtown Boston. The new restaurant offers a fresh take on New England's best culinary specialties with pure and comfortable food with a twist, whether guests are looking for dinner with friends, a business lunch, a night on the town or an after-work cocktail in the heart of downtown Boston. For breakfast, guests can choose healthy staples like steel-cut oatmeal and fresh fruit smoothies, or treat themselves to bananas foster French toast, a rich lobster omelet or traditional steak and eggs. Lunch offerings include lobster deviled eggs or a crisp green salad paired with a hearty soup or sandwich. For dinner with Boston flare, North 26's menu features dishes such as herb crusted north Atlantic cod medallions and New England Shellfish Stew - a succulent combination of lobster, clams, mussels, scallops, squid and chourico in a saffron tomato broth. The new restaurant features seasonal outdoor seating as well as operable windows that open toward the bustling markets of downtown Boston, for relaxing with a signature cocktail or enjoying fresh-air dining. A floating bar of Calcatta Marble and American black walnut is positioned in the foreground of the restaurant, with a 12-foot-high, 840-bottle wine rack behind created from an edge-lit glass. A softly lit, gently curving passage leads to the dining area, teeming with custom wraparound booths and banquettes, custom oversized linen pendant lights, a floating steel-and-canvas canopy, and American black walnut paneling running from the floor to the 18-foot-high-ceiling. Abstract paintings by nationally-recognized artist Rob Douglas adorn the walls and add to the sophisticated but comfortable feel of the restaurant. North 26 also offers a semi-private dining area with seating for 12. North 26 is open throughout the day starting at 6:30am on weekdays and 7:00am on weekends. Dinner service finishes at 10:30pm nightly, while the Bar closes at midnight during the week and 1:00am on Friday and Saturday. This is a Non Smoking property

Convenient to airport, tourist attraction, restaurants! Very crowded area due to the open air market in front & on side of hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel - great staff and great location!

Great location. Valet parking was not good, scratched my car. They told us valet parking was in a parking garage off site, but in fact it was in a small parking lot behind the hotel.

Location. We had to call for ice, would like ice machine available. Location is awesome, perfect for sightseeing. Hotel staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. We had to wait until 4 to check in which was a slight inconvenience, but not a big deal. The room was a bit small and carpet slightly worn, but I loved having 2 chairs in the room. The dressing room off from the toilet was nice as well as the umbrella and robes for our use. Clean, comfortable, and again, the location was awesome.

It was pretty easy to get around on the T and to the North End from this hotel. It was very old and needs to be updated. It fees like it could never get clean. The location was decent, and the lobby bar had a very sweet and helpful bartender, but the front desk staff (the 1 or maybe 2 people that actually were there) were surly and not welcoming at all. The room we received was right off the elevator with a tiny bathroom. It didn't feel clean because everything was so old and dingy.

They did not have our room on the first night so they sent us to another hotel, paid for it, and upgraded us to a suite for the next 2 nights. Very friend. They did not have our room. Excellent service, very apologetic about not having our room. Location is perfect. Room was clean and service was great.

Excellent location for the things that we like to do while in Boston. Bed was outdated and uncomfortable. Pillows were horrible. Felt like they were stuffed with Styrofoam popcorn. No bar soap. The only soap in the room was bath gel. Seems to be going down hill. The location is wonderful.

It's proximity to most of Boston's attractions! It's pricing of items they had in a fully stocked refrigerator. Left no room for us to stock it ourselves! They were very hospitable and informative. However, their pricing of in-room items was outrageous and tempting right at your fingertips! It would be hard for a parent to keep kids out of. There were very many "tipping" areas vales, concierges, room service; I felt I was spending a lot in tips! The view from the very tiny balcony was amazing and I definitely felt like I was on vacation.

I was amazed at how comfortable the beds are! We had an incredible view of Fanuell Hall and the staff was exceptional. It's a bit pricey and I feel if you stay there parking should be included. I would definetly recommend staying here!

Wow! What a great choice. Our hotel was in a great location for us to visit the sites in Boston and enjoy some night life. We walked out the front door to Faniel Hall and Quincy Market. The subway was a block away and an easy way to get around to the outskirts of Boston. Best of all was the staff. The doormen that we came across were wonderful. They seemed to anticipate our questions and had answers ready. By the end of our stay they knew us by name and even asked us for ideas for other clients. The hotel itself was clean and the beds were comfy. This is not a hotel for kids but a great location for adults. The only downside was the bar/restaurant. Not a very good wine selection but there are plenty of pubs close by. We will definitely stay here again!!!

The staff was very nice, check in and out was fast, and the location was excellent. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. The rooms facing Fanieul Hall were a little noisy in the morning with traffic and deliveries, but overall it was great! Am staying again in May!

Just across the street from Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, this updated hotel is staffed by some of the most helpful people I've encountered at hotels. Greeted by bell hops and counter staff with enthusiasm, at all hours of the day, one is immediately feeling royally treated. The room was most comfortable, quiet even facing on a busy street, and furnished with the plush linens expected in more expensive accommodations. A large marble-tiled shower and contemporary fixtures finished out the decor. In January 2009, the hotel continues to undergo renovation, but it was not at all bothersome, being confined to what apparently will eventually be the future dining area. Convenient to the ""T"" at Government Center, any part of the city can be reached with ease. The breakfast buffet was abundant and delicious if quite overpriced; nearby however are the usual fast food restaurants for a quick bite in the morning.

I've visted Boston several times and this is by far the best location. Right next to Faneuil Hall Marketplace and a short walk to the North End Italian section for great food. We never ate at the hotel so I can't comment on that, but the rooms and rest of the hotel was newly remodeled. I believe to be completed by 2008. Location is close to the road and I worried it may be loud with the balcony doors, but I didn't have any problems sleeping.

Great location, great staff, wonderful rooms, great concierge. Exterior and interior remodeling in progress. We took a spur of the moment trip and could not have picked a better place. Convenient location, great room and a wonderful concierge, (Lana) who gave us great tips on restaurants, sightseeing and other advice. Once the remodeling is finished this place could easily be a 5 star.

You could not beat the location. The balcony provided a view of Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall. The hotel was kind of run down and the bed was very uncomfortable. Pros of The Millennium were the location, the bath tub size (and bath robes), and the balcony. Cons were the general appearance of the hotel (it was a little run down looking), the beds were extremely uncomfortable, and the mini bar was overpriced, even for a 4-star hotel.

Extremely clean, very comfortable bed. Difficult to find, but that's Boston for you. Need better directions. Very nice place. Hotel staff were extremely helpful when I got lost and called for directions. A map showing Boston's one-way streets would be helpful. Excellent location across from Fanuiel Hall, once you find it! Only negatives were that parking and room service were outrageously priced - park in the garage across the street and save 25%. Many excellent restaurants in neighborhood, so forget about room service.

The close proximity to restaurants, shopping, subway, usually the rooms. The room was very small, had a view of the parking area and the Haymarket area, not very attractive compared to other rooms we've stayed in at hotel. I love the Bostonian, and was thrilled, however the room, as mentioned above seemed to be an inferior room, room cleaning was not done until 3:30 in the afternoon. The staff was awesome, we had breakfast room service both days, and desert one evening, and the service was terrific, as was the bell staff service.

Clean, conveniently located in center of activity to North End and Fanuil Hall and Bunker Hill. No ice machines unless you requested room service. Small hotel feeling, simple lobby with registration desk, cookies upon arrival. My biggest problem was that upon entering my room, I saw a king size bed and I needed two double beds and they did not accommodate me until I bugged them so much they finally granted me a room with double beds the second night. They also transferred my entire luggage while we were sightseeing. Very honest staff and bell boys were informative. $40 parking is steep!

Great location in financial district. Rooms and common areas showing wear and age. Great location for anyone doing business in the financial district. Easy in and out, good staff and easy walking distance to almost anywhere. Rooms showed a little age along with the halls and common areas. Very neat and clean, just a little worn. Just had breakfast and average.

I liked the location. The price and star rating did not coincide with the appearance, friendliness of the staff and the room service was nothing to write home about. At the initial check in when inquiring about parking rates the person at the front desk was not very helpful with what options there were in the area besides parking at the hotel. Parking our vehicle at the hotel was $40 a night plus tips. The rooms did not reflect the accommodations. For this rate and star rating the hotel should be updated. Room service did not have much variety and at that it was not very good. Our lunch was sent up almost burnt one day and when asked for a replacement, it came up undercooked staff was not very friendly and did not seem to want to accommodate simple requests or answer questions in a polite manner. Again, great location but the experience was not the best and it was quite disappointing.

Hotel is modern, newly remodeled, very hip! The Saturday's farmer's market surrounds hotel. The main entrance is still under construction. Outside looks bad, inside is awesome! Loved the hotel overall, would recommend it to my friends. Great location, don't need to drive, within walking distance of Fanueil Hall and North End! We would stay at this hotel again!
