One night stayVery close to town centre. Free parking very good. Receptionist and bar staff very helpful and polite. Hotel needs upgrading as quite worn. The continental breakfast was very poor, with limited options of 2nd class cereal. The people who were having a cooked breakfast were being told that there were no sausages, so we were pleased we had not requested a \"full English\".

Easter sunday 2009Friendly and helpful staff ,good continental breakfast ,comfortable bed.Very convenient for the town being just a couple of hundred yards from the Minster.. (still imperial) Only let down by net curtains being dirty..Would stay again. Oh also the car parking is worth a fortune ,saves a lot of stress..

The room was slightly \"tired\" and maybe in line for an upgrade soon, but this should be considered in relation to the price paid. I do not expect to pay a price more than 50% below the rack rate and get the best room in the house. The room was more than adequate and very clean. Excellant value at the price for a hotel in a popular year-round tourist city only 5 minures walk from the Minster.

Convenient location for shops,. Hotel staff friendly. Food in restaurant was really nice. Continental Breakfast was included in cost but you had to pay an extra £6.95 for a cooked breakfast which I thought should have been included in the cost of the hotel. Hotel room needed updating/decorating. Bathroom was dirty I had to complain and the head of housekeeping cleaned it herself, the grout around the bath was black. It was cleaned but there was still some dirt around the shower. It was not acceptable.

Minster Hotel, YorkWhere do I begin?First location – excellent central location, a five minute walk and you’re through the city gates, plenty of parking too.Building – on the outside looked very nice, reception area too was excellent.Booking – everything was fine my end, and through the website, however on arrival I was told by the guy at reception, there seems to be a mistake with the booking. On seeing my young daughter he asked had I booked to include her (being British) I bit my tongue and said yes, 2 plus 1. Low and behold, that was what he found on the booking!Due the mix-up he said (his end not mine) they had one room left – on the third floor! I asked if they had a lift – silly question! So with two year old and a single case with all our and our little girls things up we went, not just three flights of stairs either, the last set being nice and steep and narrow. We eventually got the door open and the room looked clean enough (at first glance), until we noticed the dead bluebottles on the windowsills. The very dirty draws in the bedside cabinets, the broken and cracked sink, the broken, cracked and protruding plastic bath side panel, the peeling wallpaper and the human nail embedded into the carpet – a nice touch I thought!Later when bathing out daughter she grabbed hold of one of the bath handles – to our horror it came away from the bath leaving a nasty looking rusty bolt. Remember, she’s two, how on earth could or more importantly should she have been able to pull the handle off like that?At breakfast – which was excellent by the way, we were told we would be moved to a ground floor room. This room whilst dated was at least clean and we could have a shower, the previous room had evidence of a shower curtain which had long since gone.Second day we went for breakfast, the dining room had been set up for a wedding, so we looked for a sign, nothing, rang the bell, nothing, looked for someone, anyone who could tell us where breakfast was to be served.Eventua
