Bed extremely comfortable. Generally roomy apt. Good price for parking. Sofa bed uncomfortable, no sheets, quilt in room . Needed to go down to the lobby to get them and make up the sofa bed ourselves. Smelled of smoke.

Great location...near Grand Central Station, Empire State Building, United Nations. Lots and lots of deli's and restaurant around the area. The room was like a one bedroom apartment (about 700 sq ft)with full kitchen....just love the adjoining terrace area. I would definitely come back here on my next trip to NYC.

I JUST LIKE TO SAY THIS WAS A VERY COMFORTABLE, AFFORDABLE HOTEL RIGHT IN THE HEART OF MANHATTAN VERY CONVIENCE TO EVERYTHING. WHEN PLANNING A TRIP TO THE BIG APPLE BE SURE TO DO A TRIP SEARCH. WE TOOK A TAXI ALMOST TO EVERYWHERE AND REALIZED EVERY PLACE ON OUR TRIP LIST WAS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE. TIMES SQUARE APPROX 6 BLOCKS, FIFTH AVENUE 4 BLOCKS, EMPIRE STATES BULDING 4 BLOCKS, ROCKEFELLER 4 BLOCKS, CENTRAL PARK 6 BLOCKS. ALL SORTS OF FOOD PLACES AND CVS IS 2 BLOCKS ONE BIG CIRCLE. THE HOTEL EVEN OFFER TRANSPORTATION TO THE AIR PORT (VERY AFFORDABLE). THE CONCIERGE IS VERY FAMILIAR WITH EVERYTHING AND HELPFUL. ALL I HAVE PRAISES TO GIVE TO MURRAY HILL. I TRULY ENJOYED MY STAY AND WILL COME BACK AGAIN.

My 2 older sisters and I (we are college students) went there as our lil trip before school starts, and since we were looking for inexpensive hotel, we tried "Name your own price" at Priceline.com and we got this hotel only for 100 per night. At that time, since none of us have never been to NY, didn't know if we got a good deal or not, but as we arrived in this hotel, we just felt SO LUCKY!! because another hotel we stayed before staying at Murray was Edison hotel and it was Horrible although we paid 200 per night staying there! the room in Murray was SOOOOO much bigger, cleaner, cozier and even staff were sooo nice too and we felt very welcomed.
Murray was kinda in residential neighborhood, so there isn't lots of noise (which was one of the best), 10mins walking distance to subway station, and since it's in the middle of Manhattan, it's close to everywhere! Wall st, 5th Ave, Times Square..etc
so if I go back to NYC, i would definitely stay here!

This was our first trip to New York and I picked this hotel based on reviews, location, and that it offered a kitchenette. The hotel was in a somewhat residential neighborhood so there was not a lot of traffic noise in our room. There are grocery stores, drug stores, restruants and a Star Bucks within one block. Grand Central Station is about a 10 minute walk. I was not disappointed with this hotel.

I was surprised to find myself in a spacious apartment with a large living/dining area, bedroom and kitchen--all separate rooms. The location was very convenient--just a few blocks from Grand Central Station in a real neighborhood with grocery stores, drug stores, and delis. Internet access was not easily available, but I used Kinko's at the corner.

The suite was big enough for five to occupy comfortably. Nothing worth mentioning. The hotel is on a quiet block in Midtown, three blocks from Grand Central. We had a one bedroom suite that comfortably slept a family of five. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and the price was excellent.

The room was so large and there was an attached kitchen and sitting area. Desk person said she had no internet access and couldn't help me check in for my departing flight. It is in a great location and the room truly was a suite with a nicely stocked kitchen and a separate sitting room. It was cozy, quiet and clean. It was very accessible to many things by foot and the doorman was very helpful in getting cabs when needed. I was very pleased with this hotel and the price was fantastic!

Best bargain in NYC! No internet service in the rooms. This was the best bargain in NYC! We had a decent kitchen, with refrigerator, and a separate sitting room with TV. We had a wonderful week in New York, and part of the reason, we were so happy, was the excellent room we had at Murray Hill, centrally located and comfy.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. Great location, clean and charming room, safe location, close to subway. Highly recommended!

I had meetings in mid town Manhattan (on 5th Avenue and 42nd Street). I would not recommend this hotel if you would be asking associates to come by your hotel, but if you are like me and just needed a place to lie your head down for a night or two while attending meetings in mid town then this is a great spot; very conveniently located. One thing: there is no high speed wireless (or non-wireless) hook up in the room, you have to go to the lobby. A bit of a problem but not too bad.

For the price, this hotel was great. It's location was safe and w/in reasonable walking distance to other desired areas. Clean room & friendly staff. If the hotel had some type of breakfast available, it would have been great. Also, our room was near housekeeping and was a bit loud in the morning. Loved it for the money! I would definitely stay there again.

The rooms were large. This hotel is located away from everything and it is too far to walk to most attractions. I would not want to stay at this hotel again, it is to far away for comfortable walking distance and in NW York, and it cost a lot to take a cab or limo to all of the shows. I would not recommend this hotel to tourist in New York.

Spacious room by NY standards; easy to get taxis. Not the most central location for getting to midtown or the West Side quickly--whether on foot or by bus/subway. I've enjoyed staying here many times. The room is clean and spacious by NY standards. I've never experienced much of a wait when checking in or out, or checking luggage. On a lovely quiet East Side street, near endless restaurants, convenience stores, etc.

The clerks at the front desk were not very friendly, but the bellhops were very friendly and helpful. The bed was very old and it needed to be upgraded, but it was adequate. The room was very large and comfortable. The bathroom was very small, but adequate. The room had a kitchenette with microwave, refridgerator and all the necessary dishes and silverware which enabled us to eat in our room. The hotel was in a great location a little over a mile to most of the tourist attractions in mid-town Manhattan. It was a good value for the money!

The room was spacious and comfortable and the staff was courteous. The hotel still uses room keys and not key cards. The room was bigger than I had expected. It was quite spacious for me and my girlfriend. There were chairs and a mini-fridge/ kitchen area that was nice to have snacks. There was no microwave, but there was an oven with utensils and plates. There is a door man for most of the day and the staff is friendly and courteous. The rooms still use keys, so bring a keychain. All in all I would say it was a good hotel for a good price.

Cleanliness is the main factor for me as I have a young child. Location (near the subway). Staff is not too warm and friendly, but still polite. That's enough for me. The rooms are huge by NY standards. And each one comes with a kitchenette with utensils. One can literally cook in the room. Although slightly old, it is clean and met my family's needs. There was also free wireless internet access for rooms on the lower floors. What more could one ask for?

Location met my needs. The entire building smelled like stale cigarettes. This was obviously an efficiency apartment building that was turned into a hotel about 25 years ago, judging by the decor. Everything is very old and faded and smells like stale cigarette smoke. For a business trip, this was a problem because I could hang my clothes on the closet. I would have smelled like an ashtray the next day. There is a kitchen in each unit with a gas stove but no HVAC to vent it, so I would not recommend using it. The entire building is far from being NYC code compliant.

The rooms were suites with an abundance of room and towels--both rarities for NYC hotels. The hotel did not have a consistent doorman. The Murray Hill East Suite Hotel is a great place to stay for someone who does not need (or want to pay for) all of the Ritz of a hotel in the city. It's located very close to a main hub for the subway, train, and bus system. Plus, it's within walking distance of Les Halles--a restaurant worthy of patronage for all three of your daily meals. Perfect for those travelers who only use their hotel rooms as a place to sleep and wash up.

Three blocks from grand central station. Hotel staff is nice and helpful. Rooms need updating and Wi-Fi would definitely be appreciated. I would stay here again but would like a lower room rate.

Well appointed, nice large sized suite, responsive all around staff, clean, nice kitchenette and good location. A bit noisy from some mechanical equipment perhaps the elevator. The TV was a bit outdated but the reception and the channel selection were fine. Staying at the Murray Hills East Suites was great. The suite was warm spacious and clean and the staff was courteous and responded quickly and completely to all of my requests. I liked having a kitchenette, so I could prepare my food whenever I wanted. I also like the free Wi-Fi connection service provided in the lobby, the good thing about my suite was that it was on the second floor above the lobby and I could log on from my room too!

I absolutely loved the location, close to shopping and awesome restaurants. Our rom was very cold with no heater. The Murray Hill East was every bit as retro as we could imagine. Nice size bathroom, well lit and a floor length mirror, but not much counter space. The kitchen had a full size fridge. Great amount of closet space and plenty of hangers. Only down side was that the bedroom was freezing. The living room wasn't as bad but still cold.

The location was extremely convenient. I liked everything. This hotel was an excellent place to stay for what we paid. It was a great location in a nice, quiet neighborhood, within easy walking distance to all of the city's sights. The room was big and comfortable, with a nice bathroom. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

My wife and me were leary of visiting New York City, but found the location and service very satisfying. It is in walking distance of most Manhattan sites, and once we learned how to use the subway, we were able to visit every significant site in 3 days. We will go back!

I enjoyed the size of the room and that fact that it has a kitchen and a living area! No wireless internet service available! The hotel staff was friendly, polite and very helpful. The location of the hotel is convenient for me as I was able to walk to many of NY's attractions. The room, though a bit old-fashioned, is spacious and comfortable. Overall, my experience in this hotel was positive and I would definitely stay there in the future, and recommend it to friends.

It was (spotless) clean, spacious, and in a great location. A little outdated but that doesn't matter much. We loved the hotel's location and the room was large enough to spread out in. We were only there for one night, but the room worked out just fine and the staff were great. Would be ideal for a longer stay, I think. The furniture and trappings were definitely dated, but that does not matter much because the place was spotless. Good location close to Grand Central, diners, grocery, etc. The street was occasionally noisy during the day, but didn't hear anything at night.

We were very pleasantly surprized at how nice our stay turned out. This hotel is in a very convenient location. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff was great and we would probably stay there again. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to put a small microwave oven in the rooms to heat up leftovers.

The cleaners are very slow. The hotel needs to do something about the way the room doorsall slam if not carefully closed. Excellent choice for residential feel close to all amenities. If you don't need minibars, room service, on-premises restaurant or hovering staff, this is the place. Suites well-kept and good-sized, all with kitchens.

Staff was great. Location was excellent. Rooms were functional nothing to austere, but everything you need. Mattress was a little old, but I still slept fine and I am a picky sleeper. Excellent location. Old building charm with essential upgrades. We stayed in the back side of the building (and had the choice to do so) which was quieter than the front. In the summer you have the noise of the air conditioner all night but can live with it on low. The bathroom was small but nice. There were all kinds of storage and closet space, but not many hangers. It was a very nice place to spend down time from roaming around the city. Staff was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction when needed.

You could not ask for better staff than this one. They were also so helpful with directions and even helped us get a taxi at night. Made us feel appreciated and they really cared that you stayed with them. The room was large and had a great kitchenet that we did not use but to make coffee in the mornings. The bathroom was nice and roomy too. Only thing that bothered us was the first night it was hot and they had already turned off the A/C. But they brought us a fan and it was ok. The next night a cold front hit and we about frooze. I guess that's just the weather in NYC. The location was wonderful. Close enough to walk to Time's Square at night and far enough away to escape from the hussle and bussle. I'd stay again and plan to next year.

Murray Hill East Suites were a totally pleasant surprise! We didn't know what to expect, having never stayed there before, but we were extremely pleased with the size of the room (included a bedroom, living room with queen-size pull-out bed, and kitchenette), the cleanliness, and particularly the convenient location. We were within very close walking distance to Grand Central Station and the Empire State Building, with a little bit longer walk to Times Square and the Theatre District, but very do-able. The staff members were extremely pleasant and helpful, particularly with getting us a cab and a very busy Friday evening. There are no restaurants in the hotel, but we found a little Irish pub just around the corner. This will definitely be our hotel of choice on our next New York City visit.

This hotel started life as an apartment building, and as such, accommodations are roomer than the average NYC hotel room. The kichen was minute, but had all appliances (except microwave) dishes, pots etc for eating in. Desk, dining table, plenty of drawers, closets. No room service, restaurant, business office etc, but anything needed was within a block. Easy to get to midtown, or subway by foot. Clean, no frills, pleasant staff.

Very Clean, the two doormen were extremely helpful. Front desk staff, very unconcerned or helpful, downright rude at times. The hotel was very clean; if you spoke to the front door men they were both very helpful with directions and recommendations. The front desk staff was the complete opposite barely spoke, and was very put out to do that. The hotel has no internet of any kind so it is not practical for business travelers. When I asked the front desk staff if they had any recommendations they said I could sit in the hotel lobby and basically pirate the internet from the building across the street if I "had to". The front door man was kind enough to at least direct me to the Starbucks and the Kinko's down the street.

Murray Hill Suites really met our needs for our group of four women; spacious bedroom with another room with sleeper sofa and also a separate kitchen. The location was great with many of NYC attractions within walking distance or easy cab ride. The bellmen were great but front desk staff was not so friendly. Unfortunately, we had a situation with our room that required intervention of the general manager. He was prompt in addressing our problems and compensating us for our discomfort.

The location is fantastic for navigating around mid-town, but the hotel itself is sorely in need of renovation to say the least. My room wasn't necessarily dirty, but it was cold and a lot of the fixtures are so old there is rust around them, so the room just never looks truly clean. The sheets were clean, but old, and the TV was probably at least fifteen years old.
