General Description

Opened in 2008, this Brooklyn boutique hotel couples a clean, fresh design with unrivaled service. Nu Hotel lies in the heart of Downtown Brooklyn, which has gained prominence as the third largest central business district in New York City following Lower Manhattan and Midtown Manhattan. The property graces the vibrant center of the so-called BoCoCa district, a collective term that encompasses three charming Brooklyn neighborhoods: Boerum Hill, whose streets are lined with French bistros and stylish brownstones; Cobble Hill, which showcases a unique mix of old world shops and gardens; and Carroll Gardens, an old-fashioned Italian neighborhood featuring posh restaurants and antique shops. Nu Hotel affords easy access to the Williamsburg Savings Bank Tower, Wall Street, Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, South Street Seaport and World Trade Center Memorial. The Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island are just three miles away from the hotel, while Time Square is approximately eight miles away. Designed with functionality in mind, Nu Hotel's 93 stylishly appointed guestrooms are decorated with natural materials and boast a refreshing palette of soothing hues. White-washed walls and crisp white sheets combine to create a tranquil atmosphere of modern luxury. Plush mattresses are covered with fine duvets and 100% Egyptian cotton linens. What's more, each accommodation comes equipped with complimentary internet access, 32-inch flat-screen television, MP3/iPod docking station and working desk. The hotel also offers spacious bathrooms equipped with chalkboard walls, perfect for jotting down important notes before leaving the premises. Comfortable seating is available in the lobby, where you can grab a complimentary copy of The New York Times and stay abreast of the day's events. If you'd rather have a good workout or simply practice yoga, head to the 24-hour fitness center. Start your day off with a complimentary continental breakfast at the onsite Nu Bar , which also offers a light tapas menu in the evening. A non-smoking establishment, the eco-friendly Nu Hotel features a 24 hour front desk, free WiFi Internet access throughout the hotel, onsite valet parking and dry cleaning.

I enjoyed staying in Brooklyn close to my daughter's neighborhood. The complementary breakfast of croissant and Starbuck's coffee was appreciated. Next time I will plan on using the fitness center. My room was spacious and clean. I will certainly stay here next time I visit my daughter.

The Nu Hotel is very stylish and welcoming- It reminded us of places where we have recently stayed in Europe. We were visiting family in Brooklyn, just a few blocks away, but it would be a great choice for a visitor who wouldn't mind walking a few blocks to the subway to get into the city. The Cobble Hill area has great restaurants and shops, so a tourist or business visitor could come back at the end of the day and find a reasonably-priced dinner within walking distance at one of the many little neighborhood spots. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast was a plus.

We've stayed at Nu Hotel several times and it has provided consistently good service. Rooms are spacious, well-appointed and spotlessly clean. Beds are comfortable. We like the fact that they provide a free continental breakfast, which can be so helpful if you're on a tight schedule. Only down-side would be that you can hear a little traffic noise through the large windows. It's the price you pay for being in a great location, close to Brooklyn's restaurants, shops and a short walk to the subway. All in all worth the price.

Great location and comfy bed. The walls are a little thin so you can hear the person in the next room gargling, but everything else including the mini-breakfast was great.

There is a lot to do in Brooklyn, like the Broolyn Botanical Gardens, Brooklyn Museum, but few nice, affordable places to stay. Nu Hotel is clean, with large comfy beds and spotless bathrooms. The neighborhood is fun to walk in, seeing historic brownstone houses with tiny gardens and going to cute little restaurants like Cafe Al Di La, Cafe Jolie and Teresa's. Breakfast at St. Clair across the street from Nu Hotel. We were welcome at all these places even with my 3 month old grandson.

I loved my stay at Nu Hotel. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful in every way. The room was fantastic and very, very clean. The only thing I would change would be to make the rooms more soundproof to the noise from the street. We heard nothing from inside the hotel, but being from Florida, it was very difficult to sleep with all the outside noise. Great hotel, we will stay here again for sure.
