The hotel it self was a good replica of New York, the Chin Chin resturant was excellent, as was IL Fornia (the little sandwich shop). At check in we were told we had a king size bed, instead we had a queen size bed. This affected the quality of our sleep, since we are use to a king size bed. The room was small but clean, however we did not appreciate having to pass the same food carts from room service which was left in the corridor for several days before they were removed.

Bed was comfortable, room was nice and clean, and good location. Hotel layout was confusing, the TV in the room was very small. As a last minute place to stay it was a good choice for the location. The room was nice except for the small TV (hard to watch without glasses on). The roller coaster ride was a little rough.

We had issues with our room the first night there and the hotel and the travel agency were unable to make our stay better. We did get another room the next night, but had to re-pack and move to another room in the middle of our afternoon on day 2. And then they charged us $ fee for using the phone for a 800# while we were talking to Travelocity to get our room straightened out. We were not impressed with the rooms as I thought the pictures showed and a Hampton Inn/Hilton bed is complete luxary compaired to the bedding at the NY-NY. I was the one wanting to stay here and my husband and I was really disapointed. :-( More so in the fact that the first day and a half was dealing with room issues that we had reserved and didn't get met. After visiting several other hotels in the area, there are so many more awesome areas to stay at on the strip. The rollercoaster was $ a person and no discount if you were staying at the hotel either. I felt this was a little too pricy. the food areas in the hotel were great and we loved the mexican resturant/staff at the Gonzales Y Gonzales. The inside decor and such was pretty cool, but the casino there seemed smaller than I expected and I thought the MGM's casino was MUCH better. We will not be staying at the NY-NY hotel again unfortunatly, nor would we recommend it. I read the other reviews and disregarded the negative, but next time I will take them more into consideration when picking a hotel. thanks

Gallagher's is an excellent place to eat while staying at New York New York. Its upscale dining with a relaxed atmosphere. New York New York in general seems to be a little more laid back than a lot of the hotels on the strip and that's what I like about it.

The room was adequate in size, and was clean enough. The beds were comfortable. There were no grab bars for getting in and out of the tub, which was very high. Also, there was no coffee machine, and you had to go down 7 floors to the casino to get any.

Hotel did not disappoint. Rooms were spacious and clean. If you're going for the pool beware it is small and the deepest it goes is 3.5 feet. Good location you can ride the duece bus all day for 7.00;. All types of food available but of course staying on the strip you pay more for food than you do off the strip.

Me and three of my sisters took a sister trip to Vegas and stayed at the New York New York Hotel. The hotel was amazing. We were there for four days and it still wasn't enough time to see everything that there is to see in the hotel. The service was great - the rooms were very nice and the staff was great.

Just just recently returned from Vegas. We had a very nice stay at New York New York. We did not like our view and they moved us asap with no questions asked. Customer Service during our stay was wonderful. It was truly a great stay and I will stay again for sure and I highly recommend this hotel. After reading all the reviews, I was thinking check-in was going to be bad but it was not bad at all. They had more than enough help. I truly give this hotel five stars. Great job New York New York and we will be back. This was a trip for the ladies and we were treated like queens.

We just got back about 4 days ago and really enjoyed our time in Vegas. NY NY was okay but I think there are better places to stay. Our room was literally 60-70 feet from the closes elevator!!! and when your stumbling back to your room at 5/6am it really sucks. On-line and at the hotel they advertise the roller coasters hrs of operation are 9am-midnight but it went on all day and night which really isn't that big of a deal but its annoying cause it is really loud. The casino was okay nothing exciting, once you stepped off the elevator on to the floors of our room the halls and room had a very strange odor... One thing we really enjoyed was the Spa, it has been newly remodeled and everyone was really nice. We mainly stayed here for the location cause we attended the UFC fight at MGM Grand.

The restaurants at NY,NY are excellent. Sirrico's Pizza actually does taste a lot like Brooklyn pizza. El Fornaio is very expensive but worth every penny. The America diner is an excellent value with excellent food. We had a mixed experience at the Nine Irishmen Pub. The service was excellent, but the food was all over the board in terms of quality: mediocre (at best) burgers and fish n chips, the chicken sandwich was good and the chicken salad was excellent. The beer was good. Now on to the hotel itself... It's close proximity to the airport is a big advantage; the cab ride was just over $10. Our room was a Deluxe Spa Suite. With the exception of the oversized jacuzzi (essentially what you're paying for) the room was very inadequate. There was no coffee or tea in the room, no secondary lock or bolt on the door, and no view at all (unless you consider walls 2 feet in front of your window a view). If you are looking for a room with a jacuzzi I'd recommend the Luxor instead.

The disapointments began and ended witht he room. there were several items in the room that were not working. lights and roomsafe were inoperable but repaired as soon as I reported them. I'm thinking the hotel should check before they turn a room over to a guest. The noise from other rooms on the floor was heard and was not welcomed. A quiet and restful night should be the primary service delivered to a guest. Overall I guess it was ok but it could have been better with some effort from the hotel. The hotel/ casio overall was a satifactory one.

When we checked in we were given the cheaper room than what we had paid for. We paid extra for a view of the strip...what we got was a view of the intersection of Tropicana and Las Vegas Blvd obsured by the roller coaster, not worth an extra $20/night. The first room we were given had a faulty lamp, when I turned it on it bagan to sizzle and smoke...I quickly unplugged it. Had we not complained about the first room nor being what we paid for we would not have been moved to the room we paid for.

Large room only real amenity was marble accents in the bathroom. The bathtub was no bigger than standard in home tub. The television was 20" If you can afford this room you probably don't even own a television this small. Limited Channel selection with pay per view movies that are out on DVD I own copies of any movie I was interested in on their pay per view channels. No ice machine on my floor Soda machines did not work one sold out the other would not accept dollar bills. Panel in elevator was lose. Missing plastic cover that went over the display that told you what floor you were on. For a Hotel/resort in desert you expect a larger swimming pool. In room safe nice feature but it was too dark in the closet to read the instructions. The walk in closet was wasted space only one rod to hang clothes on and an ironing board but no receptacle in there. The in hotel Restaurants were excellent and fairly priced

I went to check-in around 9am since my flight came in early. No probelms, eventhough check-in is at 3pm. The staff was very nice w/high spirits for a busy weekend. We got into our room & it was very clean. The bathroom was really nice. The decor in the room could of been better but it was fine. Everytime we called guest service/housekeeping for more towels or whatever else we needed..they were there less than 5 minutes. We even order room service & the food is really good especially the cheesecake and it took about 35 minutes to get out food but they pre-warned us. The pool is small but perfect for a low-key place to lay out but they close at 6pm :(. Overall I really enjoyed my stay there & I will defintely stay there again :). I suggest if you get a room to get it in the new york tower :).

Check-in was not until 3pm...we were able to check in at 10am when we arrived (definite plus)! Very helpful and courteous staff...from maids to front desk to dealers. The dinner we had at Il Fornaio was very very good and not costly at all. To me...the casino floor was just too small and gave most of my money to MGM Grand. If you're going to walk to the other end of strip (i.e. Venetian) cross to MGM side first then walk. Construction from the City Center project makes the walk not so nice. Then again...if you've been drinking...probably doesn't matter! Overall...very happy with our stay at the New York New York Hotel and Casino!

Visited on business; location was the best feature. This hotel is close to the airport (minimal airport noisy); therefore, one of the first shuttle passengers to be dropped off. In addition, this hotel is very close to the monorail and shuttle system to other nearby hotels. Decent choice of food, gaming, and entertainment (Studio 54 is across the walk-way at MGM, Coyote Ugly is in Hotel, Zumanti plays in the hotel, as well as, several bars and a pub). Ask for a Players card, as the hotel is owned by a conglomerate and the cards may be utilized at several nearby casinos. Downside: No free Internet access, fitness room cost $20/day, very large hotel, coupons are usually buy one, get one, or the business "reserved the right to change the promotion" and they exercised this right 50% of the time. No in room coffee maker, bed not all that comfortable: ask for an upgrade, all they can say is no. Travel safe.

My only true disappointment with this hotel was the fact that we were to have a view of the strip. In reality we had a view of the hotel next door. And the window was smaller than it needed to be. All of the uniqueness of the eating establishments and the decor reassambling New York makes up for its weaknessess.

Had just one night. Check-in and food staff were friendly. Information staff were unfriendly and not very helpful in finding out much about location of things to see and do. Just threw brochures at you and answered with "yes" or "no" answers. First time to Vegas and staff didn't even tell us the best way to get around (like the monorail). Found out later. Location from other hotels was further than expected and ended up walking for about 4 hours. Very tiring.

Hotel was very nice, they upgraded my room at no additional charge, and provided a late checkout. The problem is that it's become isolated due to the construction of the city center. We enjoy walking between the large hotels and now, other than the MGM, it's a long walk to everything with nothing interesting in between. As nice as the hotel was (and there was nothing wrong with it), I think I would stay at the other end of the strip next time (Over by Caesar's Palace). Also, the room was very clean, but there were a number of maintenance issues, like the shower head couldn't be adjusted and hung straight down, and the flush handle on the toilet felt like it was about to fall off.

New Yor, New York offers a nice choice of restaurants ranging from a top of the line steak house (Gallagher's) to on the run food such as; pizza, bakery; nathan's hot dog's and a New York style delicatessan. The Cowboy Ribeye at Gallagher's was awesome and Greenberg's Deli was perfect for lunch after sightseeing.

There's all the shopping and dining you can imagine, from a nice dinner to just about anything like a hot dog. It was definetly great, the casino was awesome as well. Our gambling experience at the New York New York was great. The staff was friendly from Check in to Check Out. The location of the New York New York is great you have access to both bridges which you can walk across to the other hotels in the area.

I really liked the hotel overall, the first floor with all the casinos was very well thought out and designed. The hotel staff was very accomodating. THE room i stayed in was very clean and conforting. THe only thing my bubble brust was the cleanliness of the pool, it was dirty, small and shallow(good family pool) other than that it was a great hotel and i would go there again. Location wise its not bad its at the end of the south strip of las vegas.

New York-New York is a first rate hotel and is ideally situated on the strip across from both the MGM Grand and Excalibur. The room was very clean and modern, including an in-room safe for your valuables. We paid for a $10/day upgrade at check-in for a room in the Chrysler Tower with a view of the strip and it was well worth the money. All the rooms have electronic locks and the security throughout the hotel is quite thorough (cameras everywhere). The hotel offers full 24 hour room service (average Vegas prices), an on-site spa, and high speed internet (at $13.95/day). The staff were very courteous and helpful, in fact one of the front desk employees helped us make reservations for the airport shuttle because we couldn't get them on the phone ourselves. New York-New York is obviously an east-coast themed hotel and so the dining options include but are not limited to, a deli, a steakhouse, Brooklyn style pizza, Chinese buffet or seafood. Prices are reasonable in comparison to other Vegas hotels, but food isn't cheap anywhere. With regards to the gaming floor New York-New York is not one of the better casinos. During our stay approximately 25% of the floor was under construction, presumably to build a poker room which was conspicuously absent. There are plenty of slots of all denominations, and waitresses pass frequently offering cocktails. Unfortunately though slots predominate the floor, as there are very few table games in comparison to other casinos on the strip. I counted four active roulette tables on a Thursday night, each one of them surrounded by a throng of people waiting to play. Although there were slightly more blackjack tables, the crowds were similarly dense. Even the Sportsbook was small and unimpressive given the magnitude of the other rooms we had seen on the strip. Overall I would highly recommend New York-New York as a place to stay while in Las Vegas. It's location on the strip, the modern rooms and the positive ambiance all make it a premium choi

New York New York hotel was very comfortable. The hotel staff was very nice and efficient. The check in and check out went very smoothly. The only issue I had with the hotel was that our room has no view, it was facing the wall of the next building. From our room you can't even tell what is the weather outside. This hotel was very comfortable and easy to find the restaurant, pools and the awesome roller coaster. The signage every where made it easy to enter and exit the hotel from the street. The beds were very comfortable and the restroom was very spacious. I like that they had a safe in the room. This was a relief to my sister because she afraid to leave her valuables behind. This eased her mind through out our entire stay. I will be going back in couple of months with my friends. It was a fabulous stay.

I have stayed at several other hotels on the strip, most of which being 4-star hotels like the NY NY. I definitelly not recommend this hotel over any of the others. The room was nothing special and there were several things that made the stay very uncomfortable and inconvenient. First of all, the internet in my did not work, and though I had already paid for day of internet, the personnel at the front desk made it an excruciating task to get refunded the charge. There was also construction going on in the casino which included jack-hammering. Also, twice during the stay in the early morning, a very loud alarm went off for about 30-45 minutes at a time. There was a recording along with the alarm that said we would be given instructions after the cause of the alarm was determined, but we never received any. I would think a 4-star hotel such as NY NY would offer their guests a discount or some sort of compensation in this situation but it seems they are not willing to give up any profits.

I just thought that it seemed very dark inside for the most part. I did ask to stay in a room at a close tower to the entrance as I was with my 86 yr.old mother. The room was nice. The bathroom did not have a separate shower. The towels were well worn and slightly rough.

New York New York Las Vegas had an atmosphere about it that I truly enjoyed. It was fun and entertaining in every aspect of this hotel. We were not into shows so the Big Apple bar with it's nightly rock bands was excellent. Gonzalez y Gonzalez, Chin Chin, and the America restaurants were completely satisfying. Avoid the ESPN Zone for meals. Our room, though smaller than we are accustomed, was cleaned daily had all of the comforts, except for a nice view. We didn't really need to leave the hotel for anything, (except to tour Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon), New York New York hotel had it all and we look forward to returning there later this year or next.

Everything. The concept is awesome. I love New York. Everything in house. Loved it.NY has everything to offer whether traveling for business or pleasure. The Broadway room with the view of the mountains was amazing. Restaurants excellent. Great clubs. ESPNZ one is cool etc. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vegas.

This hotel is one of the nicest I have stayed in in Las Vegas. However I would like to mention two areas that could be better but are not necesary. First the room size was a little small. Knowing the type of person I am, I wasn't in the room very much at all but regardless, it felt cramped. Second the pool was beautiful, however the surrounding are was kind of small as well. Don't get me wrong, I still loved every minute I stayed there.

The price for its 4 stars status, even though doesn't feel like it. Didn't feel like 4 star hotels at all. The room doesn't provide a fridge for drink/food, doesn't have toothbrushes, and TV is old tube style instead of flat panel which I would expect for a 4 stars hotel.

We arrived in Las Vegas around midnight from Atlanta. When we checked in the hotel we were told that we were given an upgrade on the room to the next level. We were excited to hear that, but disappointed when we walked in the room and looked around. The upgrade looked just like the standard room. The service at the place where we ate in the hotel was not good nor was the food that night/morning.We had a room with 2 Queen size beds and when I got ready to get in the bed the linen had not be changed on either bed. I called down to the desk to ask them to send someone up in the middle of the night to get the linen changed. The person that answered the phone was not very friendly. The bathroom was also a disappointment. You would think that this hotel the vanity area would have been separate from the bathroom.I did not expect this from that kind of hotel being that it is so well known and not cheap. A shooting took place in this hotel as well during our stay and several people got hurt. We had just walked by that very spot 5 mins before the shooting took place.I look forward to going to Vegas again but would not stay at New York New again.

The Italian restaurant was very good. The hotel room was filthy. The sheets were dirty and looked like they had not been changed in a while. Due to the uncleanliness of my room, I would not recommend this hotel to any one. I was very disappointed in this hotel.

Stayed with my husband for 3 nites and 4 days. Great Time!!!! There were the Tahiti Vacation Club people who kept bothering us, but It wasn't that unbareable. The rooms were kept very nice and clean...we had a Broadway room with the special of buy 2 nites get the 3rd for free. The only draw back is how far the room is from the elevator...The staff was friendly and curteous. There is a good variety of food, but there were no buffets in the hotel=) We had to go to MGM and Excalibur for that. Overall the experience was Great and I would recommend staying there.

The New York-New York was fantastic! Check-in isn't until 3:00PM, but our plane landed at 8:30am. Taking a chance, we arrived at the hotel around 9:00am, hoping that they would let us check in early. Unfortunately, they didn't have any standard rooms available, so they upgraded us to a better room FREE OF CHARGE!!! By allowing us to check into the hotel early, it was like they gave us an extra day in Vegas. We were able to clean up, relax for a bit after the flight, and get ready for the day, all by 11:00am (four hours before the standard check-in time). Our room was beautiful and we had an amazing view of the strip. The facilities are great as is the atmosphere.

New York New York was not a hotel geared specifically toward children, with the exception of the roller-coaster. Neverthless, my granddaughter and I were glad we chose it over the so-called family hotels, which we visited. Those were extremely crowded with families, strollers; it was almost impossible to move through the lobbies. I was glad we chose NY NY for that reason. It is centrally located and we could get around to all other properties relatively easily. It was disappointing that major construction was underway in the hotel, although I thought it was handled with courtesy and consideration for guests. The food, also, was somewhat disappointing in terms of price and quality. The hotel is aging; towels were frayed, not hotel quality. Despite these shortcomings, the courtesy and helpfulness of the staff made up for any lacks.

New York, New York was just like being in the city - there were so many attractions within the hotel - viewing the Statue of Liberty, riding the roller coaster, seeing shows, eating in small Greenwich Village-type restaurants and deli, as well as the fantastic Italian restaurant with it's outdoor-type patio. There was a nice variety of shops to fit anyone's budget! The pool was large with three hot tubs - lots of room for everyone.Add to the coziness the casino section and what more could you want. Everyone was very friendly and helpful - we didn't meet one person on the staff that was not courteous and helpful. Our room was large enough for two people with plenty of drawers to put clothes in and space to move around in. The hotel was close to bridges to several other casinos and hotels and very accessible to the trolly.

there were no shower caps or water in the room & the drink machine on the floor did not work lastly we found that the hostess's at some of the restaurants were not very friendly or helpful - & if you were not there early all the seats at the pool were taken & the pool did not get sun till late morning because the hotel blocked it out - otherwise we had a good time

First time in Vegas with kids, and we had NO idea where to stay. Looking for value, location, and a spot to be in the middle of it all - while giving two teenage boys some fun things to do also. NYNY is the answer, and we feel like we got really lucky with our pick. Many relatively inexpensive food options in the food court, OR right across the street is all of the fast food options you might want. Huge plus. Also right across the street is Gameworks and for a mere $22.50 (using the discount tix) the kids can arcade themselves to death for an entire day. Another huge plus. Don't come here if you are basing your decision solely on the casino action......there is much better action at the other casinos, but they are very close-by. Service was very good for a moderately-priced hotel. Requested extra towels and pillows on separate occasions and received them within five minutes. Mentioned to the maid (just in passing) in the hallway that the bathroom door squeaked, and noticed that evening that it had been addressed. Rooms were recently updated and appropriately sized for the price. The only negative to me was the pride they take in their feeble exercise spa: $20 for a one-day workout and $35 for two days? Not worth it and we passed on the workouts. I would absolutely stay here again if I were bringing teens - they had fun, and we liked the options that this hotel gave us. If you have teens......you MUST go ziplining through Bootleg Canyon outside of Boulder City. Find it on the internet.......it is worth every penny and was the highlight of the trip for the kids.
