It was next to the Hilton could sneak in there and room was big. Pool area unkept no chlorine room carpet filthy. We got there at 2 pm and were told our room would be ready at 3 pm. Went back and then told come back at 3:30 pm. They did come find us outside at the pool to tell us when our room was ready. The art on the 3rd floor had awful pictures of war with blood and grenades. This is not a family hotel. This is the worse luck we have had with your service and we may not use it again.

The Normandie was made out to be something that it really isnt - all though I enjoyed the stay - the room needed a little maintenance - a few things needed to be tied up - nothing that a general maintenace guy couldnt sought out - the meals well didnt really enjoy them that much - I had a balcony which was great but noticed that the one next to me had serious cracks in it so was a bit dubious of using mine - staff friendly - location great

Nice art deco style was unique. Rooms were old and outdated. Hotel had no amenities. There isn't much to this hotel. Rooms are very big and it looks like they have tried to re-model the place but several areas are still lacking. The bathrooms need major upgrades. The restaurant is way overpriced and the nearest restaurant outside is Subway. Not many options. The beach (if you can call it that) is a tiny strip or brown sand. The gym (LOL) is 1 weight machine, 1 treadmill, and 2 bikes.

HOTEL WAS DIRTY, NASTY! No one stays at this hotel....its like a ghost ship. The staff is rude the pool is gross and the private beach they speak of is a public beach for all of san juan. My boyfriend and I caught a man showering in his jeans just down the side. The rooms were damp and i caught a cold there its just nasy. I took pics as well if anyone would like to see. Please be aware! We spent most of are time at Caribe Hilton! It was great had everything in its resort. Travelocity as well should be ashamed of themselves for doing business with such a hotel. I will never again book anything through this online travel website again. They did nothing to help us!

,The mildewy air when you first step into the place signals something is amiss. We arrived around 11:30PM and were starving, hoping to indulge in some of the 24-hour in-room dining. ;They have already left, sorry. I wouldn't recommend going outside at this time of night; was the response from the helpful staff. Great. Oh well, it's just food. Next morning, we went downstairs bright and early to the concierge desk to find things to do and places to go ;Oh, she didn't come in today was the response from the front desk located across the way... we ended up exploring old San Juan which was nearby and fun for a day trip and in subsequent days found out about places to go via * and the car rental guy from across the street. Oh yeah, did I mention our telephone was broken and non-functional, and our room safe was locked out? We still had faith in the Normandie at this time and found the room fairly well-cleaned except the coffee was still in the coffeepot from the morning, phone was replaced by a phone from another room ;as evident by the tag on it&; and the safe was opened with the staff coming fairly promptly. Hmm, the housekeeping staff did not leave any complimentary coffee for the next day. No big deal, I called the front desk and they said ok we'll bring some by. Minutes passed - no luck. We went to work out in the exercise room. There are treadmillfunctiona;, a weight-bench functional;, and elliptical machine ;makes more creaks than the insects at night

The Normandie Hotel was amazing! It cost 2 of us only a few dollars more than a hostel. The staff was friendly, attentive, generous, and genuine. They obviously took great pride in their work and environment. They made such an impression that we had our photo taken with them at the end of the trip. When you visit, be sure to try the delectable desserts in the hotel restaurant. Yum! The hotel was also conveniently located between Condado and Old San Juan. Fare for a bus ride to either location was only 50 cents. We would highly recommend this hotel!

We had to wait 3 hours to get our room ready. Once we got it we were treated like crap. One night after eating my daughter fell asleep and I drop them off at the hotel. The doorman instead of opening the door for my wife, who was carrying our daughter and 2 bags, turned around and kept talking to another employee at the front desk. It's just a bad hotel.

The hotel staff were great, the hotel was not like the pictures. Hotel on the Monday, before we left they started replacing the carpet in the main hall. We had to switches room because the toliet pipes bursted all over me and we had water all in the room. The hotel did offer us free drinks and gave us a new room. I think they could have bought our dinner and drinks for the rest of the time we were there. But they didn't, next time I will book the Hilton right next door. Their access to the beach was public and it was sort of crappy. As for the rest of the hotel,; the outside was beautiful, but they really should upgrade the hotel. The noise level from the club wasn't super loud, but if you want to rest don't stay here on the weekend. The rooms are not like the picture, they are very old and it reminds me of a motel. The cost of room service was ridcilous and I over tipped. The worst part was the toliet pipes bursting in my face, just from flushing the toliet. It was the best week, because I was in PR!!! WOW!!

I don't know where these other people stayed but this hotel was very nice. From the door man who opened the cab door to the friendly staff and cool lounge, I really enjoyed this quaint boutique hotel and i definitely will be going back. The rooms are huge! and well kept, the shower pressure was awesome (better then my own) The beach needed to be a little bit tidier but the pool made up for it. The area was mostly hotels, so to experience PR you would have to drive out, I recommend renting a car. All in all I loved this place, Its so depressing coming back to the "real world" but I'll be back. Don't read too much into the negative reviews, yor sure to enjoy your stay;)

Nice deco, surrounding environment is nice. The sound proof in the hotel room is horrible, u can hear clearly what people say. I was woke up by several high pitched ladies in the next room at 6 in the morning, the sound proof is non-existent.

Close to public transportation to Old San Juan. Lots of traffic noise; spots on furniture and carpet, bed uncomfortable, room very humid and smelly. It is overpriced.
