Location is awesome. Bathrooms are very nice. Looks nicer from the inside than from the outside. Parking is $10. When we were there the fire alarm went on by mistake and they couldn't turn it off which was annoying. I will definitely go back to this hotel on my next visit to San Antonio. The location is very good and it is very attractive regarding prices in comparison to other hotels in this area.

The hotel had a great location. It is located one block away from a Riverwalk access point and near LA Villita.

Clean, quite atmosphere. They charge $10.00 per day for parking. Good hotel, good location. Biggest downfall, they charge their guest $10.00 per day to park at their hotel. Parking is also limited (only 20 parking spaces). If you pay for your parking and you leave the lot, you may not have a spot when you get back and they will not refund your $10!

No pool & nothing was noted about that we had to pay for parking. The air conditioning was awful. It's a very old hotel that was remodeled, but still need some work. You can hear everything outside! That means any cars, parties or emergency vehicles, you will hear it! The front desk wasn't very helpful at a certain time, but any other time, they were. We got great service from a maintenance man who said we needed another room but she didn't want to give us one.

Great location! Just a block from the River walk! You can walk to anywhere downtown. And it is also in a pretty safe part of town as well. They really don't have a lot of spaces to park. And the room with the ice machine in it was not clean. Over all I really liked it, I plan on staying there again the next time I am in town. You are just a block away from the South part of the River walk, which is where all the great restaurants are located. The room was also really nice, and the bed was so comfortable! Being a non-smoker I really enjoyed their no smoking policy. It did have some draw backs, limited space to park, and when getting the free breakfast there is no place to sit down, you have to take it back to your room to eat. (which its hard to hold all of that for the trip back to your room). Breakfast is really good, and everyone needs to make a Texas shaped waffle! The staff is nice and will help you with directions, or give you maps to different places. It is also in a pretty safe part of the downtown area which being a woman was important to me. Like I said overall I was impressed, and happy that I decided to stay at the O' Brien. I recommend it to everyone.

Spacious room/clean bathroom. Hard to find. Everyone knew it as the O'Brien - not clarion. Very quiet/very clean/staff friendly/hard to locate. Hotel next to it knew it as the hotel O'Brien/not the clarion.

Nice old hotel. Small rooms but updated. Friendly staff. Great location, near the River Walk. It had a decent Continental Breakfast.

The hotel was very nice, and at a great location (approx. 3 blocks from Convention Center, <1block from Riverwalk). Everything is withing walking distance, food, shopping, and the Alamo. The only bad thing was that it was in the upper 70's to low 80's and the airconditioning in the room was a very small unit, that wasn't very efficient, and the lobby and elevators were always very warm!

Very good downtown location at a good price. Very limited on-site parking. Not enough spaces for all rooms. A nice "boutique" hotel (older hotel redone by a hotel chain.) Rooms were small but comfortable, and ideal for downtown San Antonio visitors like us that really only used the room to sleep in. Parking is a BIG problem. The hotel has 39 rooms, but probably fewer than 20 parking spaces. Do what we did - grab a space, walk or take the bus/trolley, and keep your space until you leave!

The desk clerk. No clearly visible sign to identify it while driving on a heavy traffic street. We made 2 trips around 4 blocks to find it. The room and upper lobbies were delightful. The main lobby is cramped. The exterior of the buildings needs to be cleaned up. A sidewalk sawhorse type of sign for identification and parking instructions would be helpful.

Toilet didn't work. Asked desk clerk to have it fixed. Returned 5 hours later and sewage was in toilet. Asked again for repair and was told they had no one to do repair. Manager was rude, said there was no other room and refused to give discount or help find another hotel. Obtained Clarion?s corporate number to report the hotel. Minutes later manager, miraculously, had room available. Dead crickets on the floor of that room and water in the ice bucket. Was told room would be comped. 3 days later it was charged to my credit card. I disputed charges.

My boyfriend and I had gone there for our 22nd month anniversary and we enjoyed it a lot. Just two things that they don't mention on the website: rooms with Jacuzzis are only on the first floor, so if you want a nice big bathtub, be sure to request for a first floor room! They were nice to change our room for us. Secondly: there isn't a place to eat breakfast, you go to the lobby and the food is on a table and you bring it back to your room which was a bit of a hassle.

We arrived too early and when we returned the manager, after personally confirming our room type and rate, had jacked up the price by 40 and gave us different room with a balcony door that didn't lock and wouldn't even close all the way. We ended up with a room on the street-side which was terribly loud (the hotel is ""historic,"" i.e. old with single-paned windows). The manager couldn't/wouldn't switch us, and then also would not honor Clarion's 100% satisfaction guarantee. The other staff were nice and tried to be helpful, but the manager was rude and inept.

None. The place was filthy, mold on the shower curtain. There was a gap in the door to the balcony about an inch wide. A boy scout with a pocket knife could. Horrible beyond all belief. The first night there was an insect, about 2 to 3 inches long crawling on the ceiling above the bed. The night manager came in and "escorted" it out of the room. I told him that it came into our room thru the gap in the door that led to the outside. He said he would have it fixed (it never was, he lied). The next morning we noticed that the shower curtain was covered with mold (my wife has allergy induced asthma) I asked that the shower curtain be replaced. We were told that it couldn't be replaced until the next day. That day I had to almost threaten them to get our room made up. At 7 pm it was done. We still did not have a shower curtain. I had to take the curtain off and go down to the lobby where a lot of people were having breakfast and dump it on the lobby desk and demand a clean shower curtain. What a horrid place. I took pictures of the moldy curtain and the gap in the door and would be glad to send them to you.

Very lovely and comfortable. Parking and location was horrible. I loved the hotel room. It was very lovely and comfortable. However, the location and parking was horrible. It took 45 minutes to find a parking spot. There is not enough spots and they charge $10 a day for parking. That wasn't so bad, but there was no place to pull up and check in. There area is very congested with traffic and I had to drive around for 45 minutes to find a spot because other areas that offered parking were full. The room made up for all the aggravation in the end.
