We stayed in a Studio apartment, which was small but very efficiently laid out. The rooms have a few huge pluses, including a kitchenette, a washer/dryer in the room and a balcony. There is storage all over the room, so that even though the rooms are small, they don't feel too cramped because your stuff never gets a chance to take over the space (as often happens in hotel stays). It was also surprisingly nice having a real HDTV with real cable and satellite service. No, most people don't stay in their hotels watching TV, but it's just nice to have when you come back after a long day of walking around. One downside is that Japanese TV is actually really complicated to use, because there are actually four separate systems. The views from the hotel are also great, which is one reason we chose this place. We were on the non-train side, which has a view of the Shinjuku business district and its skyscrapers. I actually would have preferred being on the train side, which has a view of the busy train station and tracks and the neon lights of kabuki-cho. Some people don't like that, though, because it's noisier and also visually loud. You can always get the "other" view by visiting the sky lounge on the 32nd floor. If you prefer one side or the other, you can always request it when you check in. (You can also request a corner or non-corner room, which each have their own pluses and minuses. I like the way the non-corner rooms are laid out better.) Even the non-train side is a little noisy, though, because there's a busy hospital nearby and the ambulances use the road the apartments are on, sirens blaring. You hear it at all hours of the night. The apartments' soundproofing is really good - we never heard anything from any other apartment, and outdoor noise is blocked very effectively, but it's still not 100%. You can still hear the sirens wailing. The location is nearly perfect otherwise. It's obviously very close to Shinjuku station, and Shinjuku itself has a lot of stuff t

Situated at just 10 mins walk from Shinjuku train station, this modern building has rooms that are on par with the five stars hotels in Tokyo, minus the hefty price tag. The apartment comes with free internet access at the basement (2 computers). Relatively spacious as compared to similarly priced hotel rooms, the rooms have essentials that are missing from normal hotels - example washing machine, ironing board, fully equiped kitchen, and a direct phone line at local charges! In all, it is great value for money for the five nights that i stayed!!

this is an apartment. not a hotel per se, so it doesn't have a resturaunt or room service, which may cost it a star or two. however, it was probably the best hotel experience i have ever had. the staff could not have been more attentive, all my needs or requests were seen to immediately and they just flat out made you feel glad you were staying there. if i ever go back to japan, there is no question of where i'll stay. also, they have about anything in the room you could possibly want, from a 42 in. flatpanel tv with dvd player, bose wave radio with cd player, coffee pot ,iron, broiler, washer/dryer, rice cooker, pots, pans, etc, you name it. loved the room and the staff

I stayed at a studio apt with my wife and my goodness is the room small! It is not a "studio" like we are used to in American Apts or even at the other Oakwood Apt. studios in Tokyo (I've stayed at the Roppongi and Azabujyuban ones). It's basically a bachelor with a separate Kitchenette and bathroom. The "double beds" are really small! All the studios have double beds and they somewhere the between the size between a "Full" & "Twin". My wife and I are not big people and I was hanging off the edge of the bed. I asked them if there is any studio with a Queen bed and they said "no". The skylounge view is breathtaking and the service is pretty good. Plus you got the gym and the amenities like internet are cheap compared to other hotels. But if you're coming from Shinjuku Station via Narita Express it's quite a trek (about a 15 minute walk). If you got lots of luggage, take a cab from Shinjuku (even for the $7 it costs). It is still a great value for several reasons; 1) No hotel tax! You do not pay the 10% occupancy tax because it's an apartment. You still pay the 5% consumption tax but considering that most Tokyo hotel charge a lot more per night for less, you save $$$ if you are staying for several nights. 2) It's got a kitchen and washing machine in your room. Save money, eat in on occasion. Having the washing machine in your room saves you plenty compared to hotel laundry and dry cleaning. But again this is for business travelers traveling alone. If you are looking for larger apartment accommodations, try the Oakwood at Azabujyuban or Roppongi
