The Omni Newport News Hotel is located in the heart of the business district, 30 minutes from Norfolk. This property features 183 guest rooms with iron and ironing board, coffee maker, hair dryer, dual-line speaker phone, state-of-the-art voice messaging system, 25-inch color TV, infrared keyboards for Web browsing on the TV, high-speed Internet access, direct in-room dialing with private phone number, video check-out and comment card, and LodgeNet system featuring on-demand hit movies and Nintendo 64 video games. Dining at the hotel features Mitty's Ristorante, Italian cuisine featuring fresh local seafood, and Mitty's Nightclub featuring live music, happy hour specials and wood-burning pizza oven. A Champagne Sunday Brunch is served from 10am to 2pm. Guest room dining is also available (6:30 a. - 12:00 a. The hotels has a fully-equipped fitness center, complete with Universal weights, Life cycles, treadmills, whirlpool, sauna, shower and locker rooms. A Get Fit Kit is also available at front desk, allowing guests to work out in the privacy of their own room. It contains a floor mat, two dumbbells and elastic bands. The hotel was very clean and the staff with especially nice. Absolutely no complaints. The hotel was even nicer in person than the photographs revealed. It was a special surprise to learn that upon arrival I was able to sign up for the "Select" guest program. By simply completing the form, the hotel furnished my room with my preferred type of pillows (feather) and free beverages via room service every morning of my stay. The entire facility was clean and modern. The staff was very accommodating. The pool and Jacuzzi were clean and well maintained. Overall it was a very pleasurable experience.

The overall features of the hotel. Nightclub and police at entrance, room in disrepair. Overall the stay was sufficient; however it was far below my expectation for its star rating. The two most devastating areas were the nightclub that brought a lot of local nightlife to the front door. I expected the room to be upscale; however there were many things that need fixing or replacing. I would be hard-pressed to stay there again.

"I was in Virginia for a Navy Reserve Family day for my baby brothers' Guard unit before they shipped out for the Middle East. I am impressed with the hotel, staff and rooms. I dropped one of my stud earrings down the drain. I called the front desk for maintanence, expecting to wait at least 1/2 hour making me late meeting with my other brother & his wife. Surprise!! Maintenance was there approx 5 mins after I called the front desk. He was very professional and got my earring back and I was on time meeting my brother. Wonderful experience with the Omni!!"

Excellent hospitality. Restaurant prices to high for families. I would recommend the omni hotel because of its friendly and sufficient staff, also because of how the hotel is maintained.

Accommodating staff, friendly, and courteous. This hotel location is convenient, needs were available, several options of getting meals if you decide to dine outside the hotel. The mall and drug stores are conveniently located near the mall.

I've been totally satisfied by Omni properties in other cities. This one doesn't deserve the name. Don't expect Omni cleanliness or service.

Hotel is beautiful. The staff were very helpful. My room was excellent and the bed was perfect. Plenty of pillows! Food in the dining room was a bit pricey as were items in the gift shop. Overall, very good experience.

We stayed for just one night. The food at the restaurant there was very good and the rooms were nice too. There was a reception going on while we were there and the family did not have a good hold on the kids, but other than that it very nice.

Staff was very professional, yet friendly. Room excellent. Pool enjoyable. A little hard to navigate to location but overall was fine. The staff not only was professional and friendly, they seemed to actually enjoy their jobs. Room was very up-to-date, clean, with comfortable beds. The pool and hot tub were maintained at proper temperatures and well attended by staff. Very nice to have a guest laundry adjacent to the pool area.

Upscale. Nothing. I picked this hotel because I knew it was 4-star even though you rated it a 3 and gave me a 3 star price. 89 bucks for this hotel is a steal especially when considering you had the Marriott a few blocks away rated higher and was 130+ dollars. This hotel blows that one away.

Away from main road, nice driveway to hotel, friendly service. Rooms are beginning to look dated. Once you found the entrance to the hotel (easy to miss the first time as it is around a curve and comes up pretty quickly), you are impressed by the tree lined driveway up to the hotel. Parking is ample, and the public areas spacious and clean.
