This was a great location...you could get anywhere within mins by just walking. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean!

The Orchard Garden Hotel is a great place to stay. Besides being very Ecco-friendly, it's just a couple blocks away from the Powell/Hyde and Powell/Mason cable car lines and right next door to the Chinatown Gates. The bathrooms are quite large, beds are very comfortable, and if you want a night in they have a great selection of DVDs you can check out and watch on the LCD TVs in each room. Be sure not to miss happy hour at the Roots restaurant in the hotel. You get a free appetizer (I recommend the fries with parmesan cheese, garlic, and truffle oil) when you order a special drink or glass or wine off the list (the organic margarita is quite good). They'll even bring it up to you on the rooftop garden (the best place to chill out and have a drink). The breakfast at the Roots restaurant was also delicious and there was a 20% off coupon at the front desk.

Our four-day stay at this hotel was very pleasant and comfortable. The staff was friendly. This was our first time ever in San Francisco, and the staff was very helpful in getting us oriented and suggesting things to do. The rooms was large enough for our needs. Could have used an extra chair in the room. The bathroom was large, clean, modern and had a noiseless venting system that kept the air dry and fresh. The location was perfect. Close to the BART transit system and a cable car line. A five minute walk to Union Square. Many cafes in the neighborhood.

We rode BART from SFO to the Montgomery Station, then walked the half-dozen blocks to the hotel. It's a good, central location for exploring Union Square, downtown and SOMA, and for riding the Powell Street cable car if that's your thing. The hotel has a nice little business center and the restaurant is attractive, though we chose to eat elsewhere. Our 7th-floor room was quiet and completely comfortable, and we felt good about staying in an establishment that is environmentally friendly across the board. They even ordered a "green" car service (Prius) for our early-morning dash to the airport to catch a 6 a.m. flight. Two green thumbs up for the hotel and all who work there!

I loved the spacious layout of the bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable. Room was clean top to bottom. Nice flat screen TV. Alarm clock had an iPod dock.

I can't recommend the Orchard Garden highly enough. The staff are incredibly friendly, the rooms are gorgeous (and very spacious for San Francisco) and the location is perfect. Everything is just very clean and calm and zen and quiet. The hotel is small, so you really feel like you're being taken care of -- no cookie-cutter chain feeling going on here -- and breakfast at Roots on the ground floor is delicious (and good value). I'd stay here again in a heartbeat -- an absolute gem in San Francisco!

This hotel was great! It is literally at the steps of Chinatown, but still close to the financial district as well as Union Square. The staff was attentive and the hotel was immaculate. The lobby and bar is small. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a newly built hotel, very well decorated and environment-friendly. Location is just great, as well as staff service and food (I specially recommend breakfast). Rooms are more spacious than what you can expect in San Francisco (in an average hotel) and again, good taste in decoration. Beds are extremely comfortable. In-room wifi works very well. I definitely would stay there again without a second thought.

Brand new hotel, opened 11/06. Excellent service, luxurious & comfortable beds. Great for business travelers. I stayed because of work and will definately stay again!

The Orchard Garden hotel was located in the heart of downtown San Francisco. We were able to enjoy all of the wonderful restaurants and other sights in SF. Our room was very nice and even had Internet access which I needed for course work that I was completing. Since it was a relive new hotel there were a few minor things that needed to be fixed. However, when we called the front desk things were taken care of immediately. I love the City of San Francisco and I certainly would like to return to the Orchard Garden

The Orchard Garden Httel was perfectly located (and perfectly priced) for our first trip to San Francisco. We took my niece and her fiance' along and were able to afford two rooms as the prices were so reasonable. A block away from Chinatown, easy walking distance to cable car routes, geat shopping very close by--- you name it, it's right at your fingertips. The hotel's rooftop deck was great (would be nice if they had a bar there).

The Orchard Garden Hotel was a great place to stay while in the City. Location was perfect to see most all the hot spots. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The Room was very quiet given its location next door to ChinaTown. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant was excellant. I would stay here again.
