The photographs on the website does the hotel more justice then it deserves. The gounds were beautiful; the breakfast very nice. The room and its location were a great disappointment to us considering how much we paid for a 2 night stay. Plus you have to pay to park in the hotels underground garage. Would not set foot in the hottub-dirty. Will not recommend; will not stay again.

My stay was just for one night, but I was very impressed. The staff was genuinely courteous and helpful. The room was immaculate! The location is perfect for spending the day at the wharf or dining downtown. Wow. I can't wait until my next trip to Monterey. I'll be back!

I would give this hotel two smiles out of five. The location is nice, close to cute restaurants and shops and a quick drive to the marina and Cannery Row. The staff was pleasant and the grounds very pretty. The room is strangely arranged and feels a bit dated. But the fireplace and soaking tub are great. The bed is the WORST. A hard, cheap interspring matterress with no padding and a bouncy feel. The linens ar rough, scratchy and the one pillow per person is a feather flat pillow. I actually got up in the middle of the night to grab the two robes out of the closet to sleep on and cover up with. They were also scratchy and hard. Advice to the hotel-change your linen service or buy better bedding to compete. The Holiday Inn Express in the area has much better beds and luxurious bedding at a cheaper rate per night. The morning continental breakfast was just mediocre. Perhaps because it is off season. Cold cereals, a few bagels and truly horrible coffee. Overall, would not stay at this hotel again, even for the great location.

I was a bit worried about what I was going to get after reading some negative reviews online. However all turned out really nice. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was big and modern. The staff were friendly. Maybe we were lucky, our room was not noisy. I could hear people from the floor above or outside occasionally but it was not too bad. We have also enjoyed the breakfast too. My only complain was that their internet access did not work in guest rooms. I would consider staying there again.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. A beautiful spanish style ambiance, spacious rooms with plasma TVs above the fireplace and the cutest patio area. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was close to Cannery Row and The Aquarium. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was very luxurious. The amenities went above and beyond what I had expected. The street noise made it difficult to sleep. This hotel was exceptional. Details like including a candle in the room were appreciated. The foods served at tea time and breakfast were very tasty. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

It is an old apartment complex turned into a hotel....I think. It had a fireplace, hardwood floors, and a little kitchenette. It was very charming and cozy. It needs a few updates to technology, but that wasn't to important to me on this trip.
