Palm Mountain Resort & Spa located near downtown Palm Springs near dining and shopping. No resturant in hotel but local dining and clubs were accessible.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Great location. Rooms were not luxury, but there was nothing to complain about. I would stay here again.

Stayed recently with my daughters and sister- had a lovely time. Very nice pool area with fabulous views. We got there too early for check in- they allowed us to hang out by the pool. Most rooms have balconies with breathtaking mountain views. Staff was very, very friendly. Rooms were clean and big with flat screen tvs, table, chairs, lots of closet, frig and microwave very complete. The only thing was that they advertise a cabana bar but, we saw none on site. Drinks by the pool would have been a big plus. Also, the hotel is within walking distance (1/2 block) from the best part of downtown- close to shops, restaurants and coffee. We are planning to go back- although weekday rates are much better than busy weekends.

The name of the hotel says "Resort" There is nothing remotely like a resort here. I have been to Palm Springs many times and stayed in a variety of places. I would say I paid twice the amount I should have to stay in this old motel. And that is all tha it is, a old motel.

First off, I was excited to have a room with a balcony, but when I arrived, I found that it overlooked the wall of an adjacent building and walkway - no view, no privacy, just noise. The room was ok and the wireless Internet worked (!).
That night, I tried to rent a video on demand. It did not work, the technician they sent could not fix it, and it never worked during my stay. To the hotel's credit, they did not charge my room for the movie.
The next morning, I got up to find that there was no hot water. I eventually got the shower to produce lukewarm water. In a hurry to get to my meeting, I was not able to report the problem to the management until that evening (after verifying that there was still no hot water). The man at the front desk's response was defensive bordering on rude.
The technician verified that I did not have hot water and said he would fix it. Later, I ran the hot water for 5 minutes and finally it was hottish. I ended up wasting a lot of water each time I shaved or ran the shower.
Finally, the room was next to a stairway and anyone in hard-soled shoes walking by would produce such a loud sound as to wake me.
I loved the location. The grounds were nice. Even the room was ok. Lose the attitude at the front desk and get your plumbing in order.

You bet this is the best value for the money. The location is great-just behind Palm Canyon drive so an easy walk to the eateries, etc. The pool was great for doing some real swimming-even a 9' deep end. The rooms are a little dated but why should that be a problem, they are clean and fully equipped. Coffee maker, microwave and frig. Staff was friendly and very helpful, parking was easy.

I went out to Palm Springs, California to visit my fiance who is stationed near there. We originnaally booked a different hotel, but some how our reservations were supposedly cancelled (I think they overbooked) so we called to different hotels and this one had a great price, and even better location than the original one we booked. It ended up being an amazing hotel, the views were gorgeous. The pool was very nice, but the Cabana Bar was closed for construction. The hotel was in a perfect location, right out front was the main strip in Palm Springs, with wonderful restaurants, shops, etc. We loved the food, we had wonderful dining experiences! Ruby's Diner is perfect for anytime, Mariposa for Mexican, Robota had delicious sushi (and sake!), and for a pricier and fancier dinner, The Chop House was fantastic!!! Very pricey, but for a romantic dinner, there is nowhere else to go! We loved our stay at this hotel, we had to leave for a few days to go closer to base, but when we came back to Palm Springs, we stayed at this resort again. The staff is so nice, they recognized us (that we had just stayed there), and were very kind at all times! They went above and beyond helping us, let us check out a little later due to a later flight time, and held luggage for a few hours for us. The rooms are beautiful, the balconies amazing, the view is gorgeous. It was a perfect romantic vacation for us, but we saw a lot of families with children enjoying the pool as well. It wasn't too noisy or crowded, a few guys were goofing off a lot and the staff politely asked them to stop, which was nice. Overall, we'll be back in September!

Accommodations were below average in some areas. The location was great - just off the main street and close to the convention center. The rooms were clean, but very old and worn. Picture were missing from the wall and the bathroom was in need of some repair. The bedside lights did not work on one side, and the shower head was so high that I had to stand on the side of the tub to adjust it. (That could be safety issue for other short people.) The help was friendly. The front desk personnel were friendly, they made changes for us, but for the cost I thought the rooms should have been in better condition.
