VERY small room. VERY, very small. Beautifully decorated, though. Sink wouldn't drain, so staff upgraded us to a HUGE room. Attended a business meeting where parking was vouchered. At checkout, presented voucher. First said no because voucher for self, not valet parking. Showed them company documents said otherwise. Then staff said not for overnight guests, only day parking!! Parking costs $38 the same whether for an hour or 24 hours. They would make no adjustment at all. Very disappointing level of customer care. Gorgeous hotel. Wonderful food at business meeting. Nearby reasonably priced restaurants. All other aspects of the stay were very good.

The room was tiny, the view was horrible and it was the noisiest room I have ever stayed in. Whenever someone in an adjacent room took a shower, the pipes would make this screeching noise. I got woken up repeatedly.

Beautiful and historical hotel with a great location! Nothing not to like. The room itself was great. It was beautiful. The beds were among the most comfortable that I have ever slept in at a hotel. There were some complaints about the size of the bathroom, but this was not an issue to me. It was small but that was made up with by the overall size of the room. Starbucks in the lobby was a convenience. I would definitely stay at the Palmer House again.

Location. Spa/gym were not a part of the hotel and cost $18/day. Excellent location, great service and beautifully reserved building.

From the moment we walked in the door to the time we left we were in awe of this spectacular "grand" hotel. the Empire Room is truly amazing, but the room we stayed in was warm, nicely decorated and quiet, even though the L train was not far away at all. In fact the Palmer House is positioned perfectly close to the train, theater, restaurants and all that Chicago has to offer. I would not hesitate to return at ALL!

The Palmer House is a beautiful hotel, rich with history. The room was very small and all hotel ammenities including the gym were at extra cost and very expensive. The location is wonderful. Chicago is a beautiful place. There were many restaurants close by. We had a great time.

Good Location and very fancy. Room was kinda outdated. I would definitely stay here again. Very large hotel, with the amenities. The only thing that was upsetting was there was no coffee machine in the rooms and if you wanted one there was an additional charge for it.

Hotel was nice. Lots of construction going on around it. Very friendly people. Room was a little small for 4 people but still nice. Some extra ammenities were not included such as coffee maker and frig. Taxis were very easy to get. Excellent location in the city. It's very close to lots of attractions such as Millenium Park, Michigan Ave, Aquariuim, and Navy Pier. Most you can either walk to take a short cab ride. Parking was in a pretty safe and lighted parking ramp. Price for it was a little high at * but you can't get anything cheaper downtown.

The hotels d?cor was wonderful and reminiscent of art deco. Large room that was not cramped even with two beds. Excellent layout and usage of space. The rooms also offer modern and chic touches with lamps and furniture choices. The hotel staff is very friendly and check-in was excellent even though I arrived early. Check-in was some and the concierge was very insightful for what to do over the holiday weekend with the time frame we had.

The Palmer House Hotel is centrally located in downtown Chicago. Check-in was professionally and easily completed. The hotel staff was knowlegable, helpful, and friendly. The concierge and the doorman were helpful with information about the hotel, city, and transportation to and from the airport. The hotel was only a block from the Art Institute, about five blocks from the Magnificient Mile, only a mile from the Field Museum of History, 25 minutes from the Oriental Institute, twenty minutes from Navy Pier for dining, seeing the city from Lake Michigan, and enjoying the fabulous architectural tour on the Chicago River. The restuarants at the hotel were wonderful; the restuarants close to the hotel were excellent. Chicago is a friendly city with lots of places to see and dine. The taxi drivers were courteous and proceeded directly to desired location. The room was exceptionally clean, with plenty of soft white towels, and very quiet.

The room was nice but not as nice as I thought it should be for the money. They did not have free wifi internet service or free internet through a network cable. TVs and remotes are old and need work the remote didn't work either. A bit noisy at night. Nice good fresh food for breakfast. Not really set up for the business traveler. Beds were really soft.

Internet access starts from 14.99 upwards for a 24 hour period and what sucks is they do not give you the room for 24 hours, check in is at 3pm and check out is at 11am. If you check out after 11 they assess you with a penalty. The rooms are really small, but for the price it is ok. No fridge in the room, but nice lobby and staff.

Got an excellent rate during the Lollapalooza music festival. Hotel was very close to the festival and still in the loop where there are plenty of restaurants and stores. There were a ton of people checking in on that Friday and they handled the crowd well the line moved quickly and we were able to check in early.
