General Description

The Paramount Hotel is conveniently located in Temple Bar's West End close to all theaters, bars, nightclubs, and restaurants, as well as Dublin's shopping districts of Grafton Street and O'Connell Street. Trinity College, Christchurch, Dublin Castle, and National Concert Hall are also close by. The hotel's Turks Head is a fashionable bar and bistro complemented by mosaics and Spanish-style architecture. This is a great spot if you want to see the Temple Bar area and is within walking distance of other major sights. The hotel was clean and the city noise level was what you would expect from a big city. It wasn't really loud and around midnight traffic noise dies down. The breakfast was great. Service as friendly as everywhere in Ireland. The only draw back is for those of us who have just landed in the middle of another country for the first time and have to learn to drive on the other side of the road on narrow streets. This is in the heart of the city center and can get very harry with traffic all around and not being use to it. Also, there are no street signs and the ones posted do not match those on the maps so we had to drive by landmarks. There is no parking at the hotel but there is parking within walking distance and I never felt unsafe. Everyone was packing luggage with them. This was a great place for our first night in Irleand.

In the thick of itVery Central Hotel. For those wanting a good night sleep, do not get a room facing the street. My Room 215 was extremely noisy from the continuous traffic noise, to revellers singing at 3am to the sound of thumping music all night long. I asked to be moved the next morning which they kindly agreed to. Overall the hotel is OK. Chic..its not, boutique...not really. Just another ordinary hotel attached to a late Bar and restaraunt.

Paramount HotelThis hotel is in a handy location near Temple Bar. Unfortunately our bag was misplaced in the wrong room but the hotel tracked it down for us and gave us a complimentary breakfast, retrieving the bag just before we checked out. The room was tidy and well equipped, the breakfast was really nice too. I would stay here again.

A well-located hotel if you want to be in the heart of Dublin - the room we had was much smaller than those shown on the website - but it did have a very big bed. Unfortunately the hotel's air conditioning unit was situated right outside the window, which made it too noisy to sleep with the window open and too hot and stuffy to sleep with it closed. Catch 22. Bathroom was good, but the flat screen TV would have been better on a shelf about 18 inches lower as it was impossible to see the picture in anything but a \"negative\" look when lying in bed. I did email the hotel the day before arriving to request something special for my wife's birthday, but had no reply. But at the price paid it was good, though not great, value, a few simple touches would have made it excellent.

This hotel was clean, reasonably priced and in a GREAT location. However, unless you plan on partying until after 3 am, I do not recommend staying at this hotel. The music from the pub below pounded away until after 3 am. Great for singles or students, but not if you're looking to relax after a long day of sightseeing!

Hotel is a good 10 min walk from aircoach drop off. We did not arrive until 1am. On arrival room smelt of damp that was soon traced to a leak in the bathroom ceiling. Complained next morning and a replacement room was provided. Ask for a room at back of hotel as the bar is noisy. Breakfast is dear at 14 euros. Walk to cafe at top of the road, very good value

Rooms and bathroom big, clean bedlinen. all you need without luxury. However, the room and corridor stank of smoke. Not possible in our case to move to non smoking room. Helpful staff. Good location but difficult to find. Surprisingly quiet considering location in Temple Bar.
