The website definitely makes the hotel look much better than it is. The lobby is awesome.. but thats about it. The room was literally the size of a closet. You could barely walk around the bed which was nothing more than a mattress on the floor. The heat was stuck on 80 and even after we called to have it fixed, it was no better. The television was like.. 13inches and the whole room had painting falling off the walls. Don't stay in this hotel. You can get a room for the same price with MUCH better serivce/quality. TRUST ME.

The location is great, about 0.1 miles from Times Square. It is more like a motel, rather than a two-star hotel. If you are young people and want to go everywhere by foot, this hotel is ideal. But if you and your family want to have a leisure vacation, maybe pay more money and choose another hotel.

We found ourselves very comfortable in the surroundings at the Paramount. The eclectic decor is appealing to all ages. We were not comfortable with the pricing and directions provided by the concierge.

the paramount hotel has probably one of the bet locations in manhattan but it needs tons of work in cleanliness and staff for instance the lady of the concierge desk has the worst costumer service skills. as she advice me to be more carful with the time I take to get to the airport in a very sarcastic offensive way. about the room: just as in the picture but way smaller over all clean and with good water presure although the walls where full of stains. I was thinking that this hotel was in the same category as the hudsons which, kind of has the same style but after staying there I can tell the amazing difference just by judging their costumer service.

The location. Room was way too small, bathroom was so small it was unfunctional. The bathroom of the room I was had was so small as to render it unusable. The toilet literaly was positioned under the sink. There wasno storage places for luggage, clothes, even no shelf space in the bathroom. I kept tripping over things.

This hotel offers amazing access to the theatre district, the metro, Times Square, and great restaurants. It is attached to a coffee shop -- which was very convenient -- and nicely decorated in a hip, modern way. Although many say rooms are small, I did not find the size to be a disadvantage at all. Original decor -- including a replica of Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring that served as the bed's headboard -- added to the fun of the overall experience.

Room too small for two persons, I book by myself a standard room and I found 1 french bed impossible to share even with an humpa lumpa! Clean and refurbished, not very kind at reception desk and at concierge. But it's just few steps from Times square and Central Park is 10 min walking

We spent four nights at the Holiday Inn on 26th Street and loved it. Check in was lightning fast, the rooms were clean and bigger than I expected. The bed linens are wonderful and having two choices of pillows (soft or firm) was a nice added touch. I know that some people have complained about having to wait for an elevator in this hotel but during my stay, I never had to wait more than 3 or 4 minutes for a lift. I like the fact that they have a free 24-hour business center in the building. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. I will be staying at this hotel when I visit NYC again.

The hotel lobby is dimly lit and looks like a cheap 70's disco. The reception desk is poorly staffed. The rooms are miniscule and cheaply outfitted. I had to pay * to ""upgrade"" from a full sized bed even though I had paid for a queen sized. The elevators are slow when working at all. To get downstairs at peak times we had to let two or three go by because they were full. (only one out of 4 elevators was working) The hallways are dimly lit. Even at * a night this place was not worth it. Avoid at all costs.

The location and style/ambiance were ideal. Amenities like hairdryers, coffee makers, and irons were not standard in the room -- you had to request and tip for these items.

Location is excellent and a bit quirky. Construction going in lobby. This hotel was beyond my expectations for a 2 star hotel. The room was kind of small and European in nature. It might not appeal to many Americans but was perfect for me.

The Paramount hotel is in the perfect location for anyone wanting to see NYC. Time Square is half a block away; it's close to the theatres and to so many good restaurants. The hotel lobby and lounge were very chic, and the rooms were nice. They are as small as any other hotel in NYC, but with the location, I can promise you won't spend much time in your room anyway. This is a great hotel for anyone wanting to see the City on foot. You can walk to so many popular spots (We walked to Broadway, MoMa, Central Park, the Garment district, Rockefeller Center, etc. You will save a ton by not having to hail a cab, and you won't feel like you're sacrificing quality either!

The Paramount Hotel in NYC should be advertised as box sized rooms for large amount of money When I entered the room I realized there was no floor space to set my luggage down. There was no bed, just a boxspring and mattress on the floor. The tv was all static, couldn't even tune in the local FOX network. The air conditioner was not working and had to have someone come up and fix it. The bathroom was decent but the bottom of the tub was chipping off. There was a closet but I had to jump over the mattress to get to it. I asked for an iron and got an old one that leaked water. The staff were nice but the lobby was dirty and weird!

The Paramount is perfectly located. Close to shows, shops and many dining options. The staff at the hotel was competent and friendly. The atmosphere was lively. The only downfall was the comfort of the bed - non-existant.

19th floor and newly renovated rooms were lovely. Rooms were very small and bed was a double, not a queen. The staff at the Paramount was outstanding; service was very responsive and quick. When checking my bag until my departure, I was told it was a $2 charge, however, when I returned to pick up my bag, one of the dollar bills was stapled to the tag. It would have been very easy for the bellhop to pocket the extra dollar (they were literally making change from their pocket for those of us checking bags), so I have to say this impressed me more than anything else. Although the room (19th) floor was newly renovated and quite lovely, it was smaller than any other I've ever experienced in NYC. If I was planning to spend anymore time than it took to sleep, shower and change my clothes, I would have been very unhappy with that aspect of the room.

We ended up upgrading our room and honestly, we weren't in the room much so it wasn't a big deal. The only negative I found with the room was the shower was a bit small and had a very small splash guard to keep the water off the bathroom floor. Other than that it was a great place to stay. Great location right in Times Square. Walking distance to Central Park, all the theaters, and countless restaurants. I recommend this hotel if you don't need the space and aren't planning on spending a lot of time in it.

After making an annual trek to NYC for the last 8 years, our stay at the Paramount this year ended ever having to talk about quirky places we have stayed. We've found a hotel that we will return to again on our future trips. The location, one block from Time Square, made it ideal for catching train to other parts of the city. The staff was polite from the moment we checked in until we left. The room and bath were very clean and comfortable. It was nice coming back to this hotel at the end of a long day. The Paramount attracts a lot of younger travelers, but even old retirees will find this a good place to stay.

Very nice and fun place to stay. Decor was clean, white, artsy and somewhat retro. It was very close to Times Square and the subway allowing us easy access to other parts of New York. We were also close to restaurants and shopping allowing us to do a variety of activities. We were also close to Broadway shows allowing us to attend many of the shows.

we were greeted by very friendly staff, allowed to check in early, and fast easy check out. The room was small as expected, floors could have been cleaner, but all in all it was fine. I chose this hotel after reading many rewiews,WE were only in the city for two nights,so needed a good location to max out our stay, this was it!the deli next door helped our budget, very friendly, and coffee shop was great in the morning.we bought tickets directly from theatre when we got there,as we were horrified at the lines for the half price tickets that we were told to buy,it is not worth a seven hour wait for no guarantee you will get the ticket you want!

The Paramount was in a great location by Times Square. The room seemed small at first, however, after a day or two it did not seem to bother me at all. We were only in the room to sleep and shower. THe only thing the hotel lacked was a resturant, however, there was a great pizza place right next door and many resturants within a block. We would stay their again.

Our First time to New York and although we only stayed for 3 nights it was fine for what we wanted. We basically only slept in the rooms as we were out doing stuff all day. Yes the rooms are small and the beds are low but what more do you need?? The lobby looks really nice and all the other stuff (coloured lights in the lift etc) it just give the place some character!! There is paint peeling here and there but it didn't bother us (maybe they do need to give it some fresh paint). The was scaffolding out the front but its everywhere in NYC. Business centre was good too. Very close to Times Square and buses, trains and theatres. We knew it would be pricey in NY and didn't expect too much but all the staff we had were helpful and friendly. I would stay there again anyday!! We don't need very fancy 5* hotels when this did us fine!

We checked into the hotel at 5:00 pm and checked back out at 12:30 am. It was a horrible experience resulting from renovations taking place at the hotel. I would not recommend anyone staying there until the renovations are completed. My husband and I wanted a getaway weekend. The website says that they have room service, but they don't yet because their restaurants are being renovated. They didn't have any bars open were we could sit and enjoy a cocktail. The rooms were 80 degrees and after asking the hotel to fix the air conditioner all they did was crack the window. It was impossible to sleep in a room that warm with no moving air. They couldn't change us to a different room so we checked out. The elevators were broken with a huge line on each floor waiting for the one slow elevator that might work on occassion. The staff was not necessarily overly anxious to apologize. This renovation has been managed very poorly. The hotel may be ok once they are finished, but I will never try it again!
