The ambience of the hotel was very chic, safe, upscale, and fun. There was nothing I didn't like. I booked a room at the Paris Marriot for just one night originally, and then ended up staying another night just because I liked the hotel so much. The room was fabulous. Large, incredible bed, very upscale, fantastic bathroom and workstation with lots of unexpected extras. I will definitely stay there again whenever I am back in Paris.

Size of the room, super comfortable beds and linens, located between two subway stations, very accessible and it felt safe. Cost of internet & breakfast, for leisure travelers it is far from tourist attractions, view was not the best. Hotel was accessible to two subway stations that would get you wherever you needed to go. Most of the concierge staff was absolutely wonderful, except for a couple that were a little snooty. The room was very nice with enough space and very modern. The beds and linens were super comfortable. Loved that the toilet was separate from the sink and bathroom. Felt very safe and comfortable. It was a great place to stay. My only complain would be that the hotel does not include free internet with the room. It is available, but for people that stay more than one night, the cost becomes very prohibitive.

Clean room. Not central location. The hotel is clean, and the staff is helpful. The neighborhood is very nice, but it's not central. To get to the main tourist spots in Paris (St. Germain, Monmarte, Eiffel, Les Halles, Louvre, Pompidou, Marais, Place de la Bastille, etc.) you have to take a bus or Metro - not too terrible in Paris.

Very close to metrostations. Not very close to tourist attractions. Wonderful Marriott beds, very clean. Helpful staff in an unhelpful city. Convenient for travel from CDG Airport and close to Metro stops. Plenty of dining options nearby -- we visited a couple of bakeries and sandwich shops.

Easy checkin and check out; exellent tourist information desk. Clean and very quiet hotel despite central location nearby to metro station; hotel room was spacious (about 28square meters), even though big and impersonal touch at a first look the service is friendly and helpful and competent.

This hotel exceeded my expectations, great location! Nothing, I loved everything about this hotel. This hotel is located in a great location, the metro station is right outside, the staff was very helpful and the room was very comfortable, clean and nice. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you!

The quality of the hotel was good given its Marriott Flag. The hotel is not true in what is typically considered the "Left Bank". Although the hotel is technically left of the Seine, it is not located in either the 5th or 6th arrondissement typical of what is referred to as the "Left Bank". It is however, convenient to both the metro and rail service to the CDG Airport. You will get a quality room because of the branding, but the stay is not romantic.

Location was in a very safe area, and hotel was very comfortable. Lacking in services in certain areas, but then it is France. The Marriot is a located in a quiet, safe suburban area, but within 15 minutes by Metro to the city centre. It has all of the luxuries of an American hotel, from duvet's to comfortable beds, to a high pressure shower. These are things we take for granted, but aren't that easy to find in Paris. Plenty of good restaurants and bakeries within walking distance as well as a supermarket, and specialty wine and cheese stores. Gerard Mulot is right around the corner. Finest Macaroons in the world! If you are looking for a unique French experience, then this hotel is not for you. But for comfort, and the certainty that you are getting what you paid for, The Marriott Rive Gauche is a fine hotel.

We have stayed at Marriott properties all over and this one is very good. Not centrally located, but a quick taxi to anywhere you wish to go in Paris. The staff is very friendly and most have good English skills. The rooms and baths are modern and well designed. The concierge desk is excellent. We would certainly stay their again.

Dependable, reliable quality associated with Marriott; never substandard. Further away from central Paris than wanted. Takes several train changes to get to main parts. Very popular amongst airlines as at least three different flight crews (including my American Airlines crew) were in attendance. Also, lots of solo business travelers and couples without children. My room was a bit cramped for a Marriott and the toilet being in a separate room from the vanity was a pain, but overall Marriott delivered another clean, high-quality, 4 star hotel for which they are reputed. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is superb. We traveled to Paris with two kids and got a junior suite which has a livingroom with a pullout sofa, a master bedroom with a very comfortable bed and two bathrooms. With a junior suite we got free breakfast. The metro was one block away and gave us very easy access to all the tourist attractions. Most attractions are no more than 20 minutes.

I've come to really trust and rely on Marriott across the world and Paris did not let me down. They have a virtual conceirge that will assist you prior to your arrival with any questions. We got adapters for our US products at no charge, just a small deposit and they have real king size beds, a/c and large rooms for Paris. Most European countries call a queen bed a king and this was a real king. The staff spoke English, they were friendly and helpful! Ask the conceirge to point you in the direction of Alouette for dinner one evening. Great food, within 7 minutes walk and not as over priced as some of the more popular places. There are three metro stations within 5 minutes or less walk and if you are going all over the city, I highly recommend buying multiple day metro passes in advance. You can get all over the city, at a reasonable price and short walking distance to the metro. I would definitely stay again and it was up to the standards that Marriott in the states is! The food at the hotel is good but very expensive! Expect to pay around 24 Euros for breakfast, per person. So I recommend finding a little bakery close by or hit the express bar down near the lobby.

Paris was the 2nd city on our European tour and we found a gem with this hotel. What a great experience. The rooms were huge (we had a suite that turned out to be 2 rooms with 2 full bathrooms), clean, and full of amenities. Because of the package that we booked, we were allowed to use the mini bar without added cost (only non-alcoholic items were in the mini bar), and had access to the Executive Lounge which provided round the clock snacks and drinks (including wine and beer) at no added cost. There was also a modest breakfast buffet and small dinner prepared in the Executive Lounge at no added cost. Hotel was located close to a metro station, actually between 2, so getting around the city was easy. It is a bit off the beaten path, and used more for conferences than leisure travel, but with breakfast included, and all the other amenities of the hotel, it was certainly good value for money. We used the Concierge service who was very helpful in booking tours and departure transportation to our next city. The staff all spoke wonderful English, and although I do speak French, my English is better! The in-house restaurant is okay, but we only had a meal there once because it was late and we had been out on a tour all day. We had to wait longer to check-in because our room wasn't ready, but were then given a fabulous bottle of wine and cheese plate to thank us for our patience. Overall, a great hotel!

Very comfortable beds, friendly staff. Not as close to Paris attractions as we would have liked, but train access made it ok. Very nice quality. Good 4 star hotel. Train/subway access a couple of blocks away, but a tolerable walk. It was worth the extra train ride for the price comparison to other hotels. I would recommend staying here.

Great concierge desk, friendly staff, updated and modern rooms. Rooms are a bit small, and needs a convenience store to buy sundries, toiletries etc. Was disappointed in London with the 4 star hotel we booked, but the Marriott rive gauche in Paris was everything and more we looked forward too. It has been updated and the rooms are lovely and the beds wonderful. The concierge desk was super, all our questions were answered, and we were given good advice on tours, dining, buses, and in general whatever we asked. Clean, clean, clean!

Clean. Too far away from everything. The hotel was in overall good shape. None of the outlets in our room worked (including no TV or hair dryer) and after three separate requests over two days (two over the phone & one in person) we gave up trying to get anyone to fix it. Even when they promised to call us back to check on the issue, they didn't.

Great colors, fabulous sheets, duvet, bed, and a great view! Liked everything. Had come from a stay at Copthorne Tara in London, which was supposed to be 4 star but is really a 2-star. We arrived at the Marriott Rive Gauche and were just thrilled. Fabulous sleeping bed, reading lamps, makeup mirror, immaculate, close to 2 metro stops.

Close to the metro station. Walls are too thin! You can hear everything. Smallish rooms that are nice, clean, and comfortable. Soundproofing is inadequate and walls are thin. Closeness to Metro station makes it extremely easy to travel all parts of Paris, which is very metro friendly and accessible. A business-class hotel that is short on romance but comfortable and convenient nonetheless.

Large (by European standards) room and modern bathroom. It's not located on a main Metro station. Overall, this hotel was great for our 5 day trip to Paris. The room was very nice and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The only negatives were the location. We would have preferred being closer to the heart of the Latin quarter and closer to a main Metro station so that we wouldn't have had to make transfers as frequently. But overall, it was a great hotel and we will likely staff there again.

Clean and comfortable, helpful staff. Location is just fine, but I would have preferred the Marais. Clean, quiet, modern hotel. Efficient and friendly staff. The location is interesting enough there are places to shop and eat nearby (a short walk to the Place Denfert-Rochereau), but it is not really in the heart of the action. In any event, it is quite close to the Metro and therefore accessible to everything. My room had a beautiful view to the south. No complaints here.

Security of Marriott brand in a new place. Small rooms. Average hotel, good location with easy access to the metro. Doesn't have services and facilities one would associate with a Marriott property otherwise (24 hour room service, etc).
