Location was in a very safe area, and hotel was very comfortable. Lacking in services in certain areas, but then it is France. The Marriot is a located in a quiet, safe suburban area, but within 15 minutes by Metro to the city centre. It has all of the luxuries of an American hotel, from duvet's to comfortable beds, to a high pressure shower. These are things we take for granted, but aren't that easy to find in Paris. Plenty of good restaurants and bakeries within walking distance as well as a supermarket, and specialty wine and cheese stores. Gerard Mulot is right around the corner. Finest Macaroons in the world! If you are looking for a unique French experience, then this hotel is not for you. But for comfort, and the certainty that you are getting what you paid for, The Marriott Rive Gauche is a fine hotel.

One of the most luxurious beds I have ever slept in. I liked everything. This was a wonderful hotel. It was close to the underground and bus. Had wonderful beds, great baths and showers. It also had a great large flat screen HDTV. I would recommend it to anyone.

We have stayed at Marriott properties all over and this one is very good. Not centrally located, but a quick taxi to anywhere you wish to go in Paris. The staff is very friendly and most have good English skills. The rooms and baths are modern and well designed. The concierge desk is excellent. We would certainly stay their again.

Dependable, reliable quality associated with Marriott; never substandard. Further away from central Paris than wanted. Takes several train changes to get to main parts. Very popular amongst airlines as at least three different flight crews (including my American Airlines crew) were in attendance. Also, lots of solo business travelers and couples without children. My room was a bit cramped for a Marriott and the toilet being in a separate room from the vanity was a pain, but overall Marriott delivered another clean, high-quality, 4 star hotel for which they are reputed. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is superb. We traveled to Paris with two kids and got a junior suite which has a livingroom with a pullout sofa, a master bedroom with a very comfortable bed and two bathrooms. With a junior suite we got free breakfast. The metro was one block away and gave us very easy access to all the tourist attractions. Most attractions are no more than 20 minutes.

I've come to really trust and rely on Marriott across the world and Paris did not let me down. They have a virtual conceirge that will assist you prior to your arrival with any questions. We got adapters for our US products at no charge, just a small deposit and they have real king size beds, a/c and large rooms for Paris. Most European countries call a queen bed a king and this was a real king. The staff spoke English, they were friendly and helpful! Ask the conceirge to point you in the direction of Alouette for dinner one evening. Great food, within 7 minutes walk and not as over priced as some of the more popular places. There are three metro stations within 5 minutes or less walk and if you are going all over the city, I highly recommend buying multiple day metro passes in advance. You can get all over the city, at a reasonable price and short walking distance to the metro. I would definitely stay again and it was up to the standards that Marriott in the states is! The food at the hotel is good but very expensive! Expect to pay around 24 Euros for breakfast, per person. So I recommend finding a little bakery close by or hit the express bar down near the lobby.

Paris was the 2nd city on our European tour and we found a gem with this hotel. What a great experience. The rooms were huge (we had a suite that turned out to be 2 rooms with 2 full bathrooms), clean, and full of amenities. Because of the package that we booked, we were allowed to use the mini bar without added cost (only non-alcoholic items were in the mini bar), and had access to the Executive Lounge which provided round the clock snacks and drinks (including wine and beer) at no added cost. There was also a modest breakfast buffet and small dinner prepared in the Executive Lounge at no added cost. Hotel was located close to a metro station, actually between 2, so getting around the city was easy. It is a bit off the beaten path, and used more for conferences than leisure travel, but with breakfast included, and all the other amenities of the hotel, it was certainly good value for money. We used the Concierge service who was very helpful in booking tours and departure transportation to our next city. The staff all spoke wonderful English, and although I do speak French, my English is better! The in-house restaurant is okay, but we only had a meal there once because it was late and we had been out on a tour all day. We had to wait longer to check-in because our room wasn't ready, but were then given a fabulous bottle of wine and cheese plate to thank us for our patience. Overall, a great hotel!

Very comfortable beds, friendly staff. Not as close to Paris attractions as we would have liked, but train access made it ok. Very nice quality. Good 4 star hotel. Train/subway access a couple of blocks away, but a tolerable walk. It was worth the extra train ride for the price comparison to other hotels. I would recommend staying here.

Great concierge desk, friendly staff, updated and modern rooms. Rooms are a bit small, and needs a convenience store to buy sundries, toiletries etc. Was disappointed in London with the 4 star hotel we booked, but the Marriott rive gauche in Paris was everything and more we looked forward too. It has been updated and the rooms are lovely and the beds wonderful. The concierge desk was super, all our questions were answered, and we were given good advice on tours, dining, buses, and in general whatever we asked. Clean, clean, clean!

Clean. Too far away from everything. The hotel was in overall good shape. None of the outlets in our room worked (including no TV or hair dryer) and after three separate requests over two days (two over the phone & one in person) we gave up trying to get anyone to fix it. Even when they promised to call us back to check on the issue, they didn't.

Great colors, fabulous sheets, duvet, bed, and a great view! Liked everything. Had come from a stay at Copthorne Tara in London, which was supposed to be 4 star but is really a 2-star. We arrived at the Marriott Rive Gauche and were just thrilled. Fabulous sleeping bed, reading lamps, makeup mirror, immaculate, close to 2 metro stops.

Close to the metro station. Walls are too thin! You can hear everything. Smallish rooms that are nice, clean, and comfortable. Soundproofing is inadequate and walls are thin. Closeness to Metro station makes it extremely easy to travel all parts of Paris, which is very metro friendly and accessible. A business-class hotel that is short on romance but comfortable and convenient nonetheless.

Large (by European standards) room and modern bathroom. It's not located on a main Metro station. Overall, this hotel was great for our 5 day trip to Paris. The room was very nice and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The only negatives were the location. We would have preferred being closer to the heart of the Latin quarter and closer to a main Metro station so that we wouldn't have had to make transfers as frequently. But overall, it was a great hotel and we will likely staff there again.

Clean and comfortable, helpful staff. Location is just fine, but I would have preferred the Marais. Clean, quiet, modern hotel. Efficient and friendly staff. The location is interesting enough there are places to shop and eat nearby (a short walk to the Place Denfert-Rochereau), but it is not really in the heart of the action. In any event, it is quite close to the Metro and therefore accessible to everything. My room had a beautiful view to the south. No complaints here.

The quality of the hotel was good given its Marriott Flag. The hotel is not true in what is typically considered the "Left Bank". Although the hotel is technically left of the Seine, it is not located in either the 5th or 6th arrondissement typical of what is referred to as the "Left Bank". It is however, convenient to both the metro and rail service to the CDG Airport. You will get a quality room because of the branding, but the stay is not romantic.

Clean room. Not central location. The hotel is clean, and the staff is helpful. The neighborhood is very nice, but it's not central. To get to the main tourist spots in Paris (St. Germain, Monmarte, Eiffel, Les Halles, Louvre, Pompidou, Marais, Place de la Bastille, etc.) you have to take a bus or Metro - not too terrible in Paris.

Size of the room, super comfortable beds and linens, located between two subway stations, very accessible and it felt safe. Cost of internet & breakfast, for leisure travelers it is far from tourist attractions, view was not the best. Hotel was accessible to two subway stations that would get you wherever you needed to go. Most of the concierge staff was absolutely wonderful, except for a couple that were a little snooty. The room was very nice with enough space and very modern. The beds and linens were super comfortable. Loved that the toilet was separate from the sink and bathroom. Felt very safe and comfortable. It was a great place to stay. My only complain would be that the hotel does not include free internet with the room. It is available, but for people that stay more than one night, the cost becomes very prohibitive.

Very close to the metro. Room was south facing and the blind did little to keep the room dark. This hotel is an attractively decorated and well-kept hotel. It is modern and American-style, which we liked. Having stayed in characterful French style hotels, we enjoyed having a spacious, obviously cleaning, fresh-smelling room, with a large bathroom whose shower worked very well.

Very short walking distance to Metro. Excellent for a safe, worry-free stay in Paris. This is the ideal place for an American tourist unfamiliar with Paris. It has all the comforts of an American hotel. However, I prefer something more authentic. The neighborhood is not your typical Parisian experience, as it is sort of a business district and out-of-the-way. Still, excellent location in terms of proximity to the metro. If you know how to get around on the metro -- all your favorite hot spots are a hop, skip, and a jump away. This hotel would be excellent for a business trip -- very quiet and QUITE convenient for food, service, etc. We enjoyed our stay.

The concierge was very excellent! The location was not what we requested. Although we really wanted the "Marais" area, nothing was available and we settled for the Latin Quater. We also prefer small boutique accommodations and NEVER a Marriott, we were informed by the receptionist we were a 25 minute walk from the beginning of the Latin Quarter, the cost for us to get into the Paris was too expensive and because of the inconvenience of the location our trip was horrible. As for the hotel, the toilet area as 30" Wide x 66" long, barley enough room to turn around, the bathroom itself had no exhaust so when taking a shower, everything steamed up and got wet : floor, mirrors, toiletries, etc. When we got into our room, a few light bulbs were out, and almost every day after the cleaning service left her long hair in the tub! This not a place I would recommend for ANYONE wanting a romantic "Paris" experience, and once again the location was not what we requested and so far out, it cost a lot of money just to get into the central part of Paris.

At your service agent and concierge were both marvelously on top. Location is a little too far South in Paris. Beautiful well appointed hotel and room for business traveler and for American tastes - larger room, workspace, wonderful service. Real elevator, real plumbing, real heating and or AC. It would be romantic if I wasn't traveling alone - I would bring my girlfriend there! Neighborhood is boring and lower class but this hotel is the best I ever stayed at in Paris (17 visits).

Close to the Metro. Location was far away from the main tourist sites, unable to walk to them. In the southern part of Paris. Be prepared to take the Subway to any of the tourist sites. Has a subway 2 blocks away which is convenient. Great for a business traveler as it is a convention center, but maybe not the best location for a tourist.

No free web access - no free wifi. The hotel is a comfortable business hotel. It is conveniently located next to a metro stop. The room was large (for a European hotel) and very comfortable. The staff was very welcoming and the concierge was knowledgeable and helpful. My room was ready early so I was able to check in upon arrival, unpack, take a shower, and begin touring Paris. The only downside was that there was no wifi and that the hotel charged 30 euros for internet connection.

The staff. No free internet. We already knew Paris and found the location of the hotel very convenient with the metro station and the bus station (as well as OrlyBus) very close to the hotel. Lack of free internet access (it was very expensive) was the most incovenient part of our stay. The staff is very friendly and try their best to help you in all regards.

There is an underground stop right across the street, very nice size room for a European hotel, room had iron and hair dryers (which is very nice with the power conversion thing, and almost unheard of in Europe) staff was very helpful with tickets, directions, very accurate suggestions. I really enjoyed my stay here!

Clean inside. Location is far from the city. The hotel was clean and the hotel staff was helpful (no issue speaking with English at all). On the other hand, the bed was some what too soft. Also, the hotel is not at the greatest location and it will take a good 15-20 minutes subway ride to Eiffel Tower (and to the city in general). It is about 50 minutes from the CDG airport (by RER).

The VIP room and services. The hair dryer was not operative when we arrived. Excellent! Completely worthy. Nearby to a Metro station. I would add more electric converters for worldwide travelers and a more expeditious solution to small difficulties found in the room.

Room was very spacious and luxurious. Located a little bit away from the heart of Paris. The room was very spacious and luxurious. The hotel was recently renovated, and it showed everything was new and nice. The only two problems I had with the hotel were location (a little bit away from the main Parisian tourist attractions) and the cost of internet service (20 Euros per night). The first complaint is minor, because the hotel is a 3 minute walk from a Metro station. The second complaint is becoming an increasingly annoying issue for me, the hidden costs of internet access.

The Paris Marriott was a good pick. The rooms were large for European standards. The staff was very friendly and spoke English well. The hotel was close to the Metro, making it an easy starting point. However, there was no free internet provided by the hotel and I found a dirty sock in my ice bin the first night, thus slightly tarnishing an otherwise great visit.

Comfortable beds, quality linens, clean rooms & common areas and a professional staff. Location was a small hike to all the tourist attractions in Paris. This hotel may not be right in the middle of all the action, but with a 5 minute brick walk you can find yourself in the beautiful Latin Quarter. The comfort and professionalism of this hotel far outweighs the extra small walk. Voted by my wife and I as the most comfortable bed in all of our hotels we stayed in, in our 18 race around Paris and Italy. We did not have the time to use the gym, but it looked nicer than any hotel gym I've ever seen. 2 Thumbs up.

Cleanliness. View from most of the windows. I received one of the worst rooms in the house, right by the elevators that constantly made a screeching noise and with a view of the heating plant. When I asked for a different room I was told you get what you pay for. Obviously they give their worst rooms to your customers. Also the room had a very stale, musty odor. My first trip from my room was to by a can of oust room deodorizer so that I could stand being in the room.

The service was excellent! The beds were super comfortable! It was more of a business or large group orientated hotel. I think the Paris Marriott was fabulous. The service was friendly and efficient. The bar and design was modern. They made you feel at home and even provided electrical converters for united states appliances. Even though there were not many attractions near this hotel, I would visit again.

Wonderful location. Very clean and super comfy bed! Concierge gave wrong directions and we missed a canal ride. The hotel was located in a great area close to the metro and near some of the attractions we wanted to see in Paris. The hotel room was very nice and comfortable with a wonderful view from the 15th floor. The king-sized bed was incredibly comfortable. Perfect for the price and I would definitely recommend a friend to book this hotel through Priceline.

Represented the ultimate of hotel grace: meeting every need for comfort, ease of travel, and warmth. Floor drain in bathroom sometimes smelled bad. This is the ultimate hotel for convenience, warmth of staff and modern Paris chic setting. All staff seemed fluent in English; the executive upgrade (45euros) gave you access to a large, multi-roomed lounge stocked with beer, soda, coffee, fruit, nightly spread of appetizers and dessert, morning breakfast, and room internet. Well worth it. You just need a credit card with a chip. Wonderful view from the 18th floor.

Quiet location next to a Metro station, therefore easy to get to any of the sights. Five minutes walk from restaurants and bars. Fantastic views from room of the whole city. Beds were very big and extremely comfortable with luxurious bedding. Room size was good. Staff pleasant and very helpful.

The hotel was clean, attractive, and the room was a good size. The staff. We had an international calling card from at&t that we used at the hotel.
